    Had the Orion 3000 PO3-630 for a little over a year. It was my first gaming pc and ha great experience with it. This past week I bought a new GPU which didn't fit in this particular case lol. So I thought I'd place all the components in a new case. But because the motherboard was sort of custom for this specific model, it made it impossible to fit it into a new case. So then I had to purchase a new mobo so I could install all my parts on that with the new case. When I was in the process of moving stuff, I found out the old mobo had the CPU cooler bracket stuck on the motherboard, so basically I had to buy a new cooler too. I even ended up having to replace the PSU. This has been such a hassle it's unbelievable, but the Acer Predator had served me well to this point

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před rokem +1

      I did the same upgrades, i moved all of the pc hardware into a bigger case, then i replaced the stock cpu cooler with the NZXT KRAKEN M22 aio. Then after less than a year i decided to build my own pc so i returned most of the components back to the acer predator case again except for the gpu. Then I use the rtx 3070 on my AMD pc build, bought the asus tuff rtx3060ti gpu and installed it to my acer predator, then i gave it to my aunt.

    Theres a lot of versions of this computer that ive found. Ive seen this one, the one i bought has an i5 11400f, 16gb ram, and an etx 3060ti, but i have also seen these come with a i5 10400 and a 1660 super. However i have had a bad experience with the one i purchased, and its what motivated me to do a ton of research and build my own. The smart fan system didnt work and was causing the cpu to run under load at 90+° and idle at around 60°C it also had freezing issues where it would momentarily freeze and play a loud buzzing in the audio. The GPU would get very hot as well. And the only way to play without it getting excessively hot, was to take the side panel off, and max out the intake and exhaust fans which were extremely loud. There was no way of adjusting CPU cooler fan speeds, even in the Bios, and after about 3 weeks of owning it, the PSU began making a clicking/chattering noise while it was off, similar to the noise a tazer makes. That was the last straw for me. The one i had with the i5 11400f and 3060ti ran games very smooth and was capable of playing almost anything at 100+ frames. But it simply did not have the quality control.

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 2 lety

      My cpu didn't reached 90+c, the maximum i saw was 83c. My gpu temp is 82c to 85c and some games i can reach to 92c maximum when i game for 16hrs. The pc is loud when under full load. I swapped my cpu cooler with NZXT KRAKEN M22 AIO cpu cooler. After some cpu bracket mounting modifications i was able to installed the cpu watercooling. Somehow the NZXT KRAKEN M22 cooler helps to decrease my gpu temp also, my gpu temp 82c to 85c max even i game for straight 18 to 22hrs.

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 2 lety +1

      That psu issue is scary, i think your pc have quality control issues. My prebuilt didn't have any clicking/chattering noises, i can play long hours with with it. I even tried to leave my pc on for a day rendering 360 video and leaving it on straight 5days downloading games.

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 2 lety +1

      I would recommend to return your pc, aside from it is not performing well, it is a fire hazard as well since your psu making noises even it is off. Your prebuild pc is causing you too much headache, imo i would return it and get a refund or change the unit cause the unit you get has some quality control.

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 3 lety

      About changing the cpu fan, i've replaced it with nzxt kraken m22 aio liquid cooler after i did some modification on the 3 securing screws of the metal latch to hold down the processor. I cut 3 thin aluminum sheets and form it into securing washer to lock the 3 screws holding the metal latch of the processor. Then i fixed the backplate of nzxt at the back of the motherboard, then i use the provided intel retention mounting bracket to secure the cooling plate on the processor. Then i installed another fan on the 120mm radiator to turn it into pull-push configuration. The nzxt fan i attatched at the back of the 120mm radiaton pulling the air out from the case, then the 2nd fan i use is from thermaltake 120mm rgb fan, it pushes the into the radiator. So 2 fans are working together 1 to pull the hot air out and 2nd push the hot air from inside out of the case. My cpu temp now is 42c, gpu 32c and system 34c.

      I think you can watercooled the cpu ang gpu, but you are limited to 1 120mm rad with 2 120mm fans in push pull configuration. To do that you need to biy a the compatible lock nut for the cpu mounting bracket. You'll need 4 black zip ties with 4mm width. You will be needing 1 4 pins fan splitter cable to 3 fan cables, that's for the 2 120mm radiator fans. You need to buy a separate low profile pump and reservoir(60mm size) combo. 8 to 12 Thermaltake Pacific Build-in O-Rings C-Pro G1/4 PETG 16mm OD Compression Fitting and another 8 to 12 90 degree angled compression fittings. 4 pcs 500mm petg tube or 4 1000mm petg tube 16mm OD, 1000mm for extra length just in case you make mistake with your petg bends. You'll need to buy Thermaltake Pacific DIY OD 16mm (5/8") x ID 12mm (1/2") Water Cooling PETG Hard Tube Bending Kit or other brands cheapest you can find. A Heat gun to bend the petg tube. Watercooling coolant, preferably clear color so you can add printer ink or dye depends on the color you want or buy watercooling coolant premixed with the color you like. You need to by the bykski rtx 3000 series gpu waterblock and inter cpu waterblock. You need to buy decent brand thermal paste, me im using the arctic silver MX4. I aslo bought thermalright thermal pads to replace the gpu stock thermal pads, cause converting the gpu to a gpu waterblock will damage the thermal pads. The Gpu block comes with presized/cut themal pads, you can use that or use the thermalright thermal pads it is more effective on heat dissipation from the gpu pcb chip to the gpu copper but nickel coated block. You need to buy a sata to molex power connector or cable, cause some watercooling pump res combo comes with molex power connector. A 3mm Thickness, Silver - 10m Copper Aluminium Wire, Bendable Metal Craft Wire or any bendable wire you can find, tape measure to measure you petg tube lenght before cutting them and measure where you bends should be before cutting the petg tubes. The custom watercooling mod is doable, but it's a little bit difficult, cause the case is small, that is why you have to be precise with your petg tube cut lengths and bends, but with the help of the 90 degree angle compression fittings it will be more easy than bending more petg tube. Btw clean your 120mm radiaton before using them, cause most of the radiator have gunk inside them, mine i clean with boiling distilled water mixed with 20% vinegar, then shake the radiator. Do it like 2 to 3 times until you'll no black particles coming out from the radiator and then rinse it with plain distilled water 2 to 3 times as well. Plan your hardline loop design, so you can plan your petg length cuts and bends. Take your time, don't rush it, plan it well and have a break in between. I built my own pc and my custom watercooling loop alone took me 12hrs to finish.😅
      Just take your time, I'm sure you can make it happen, it will be the 1st acer predator orion 3000 with custom watercooling loop build!
      To motivate you this is the photo of my 1st pc build and 1st custom watercooling loop build, it was a difficult but i manage to finished it. Goodluck with your build bro!👊

I was wondering if it was possible if I could get in touch with you about some possible upgrades I can do to it, as I'm unsure what I should do/how I should do it. The RAM I installed is stuck at 2166 which is disappointing so I was hoping you might have a solution/suggestion for how to fix that. Sure man, just message me here and i will respond to you as soon as i read your message. I upgraded my rams, I'm using the micron ballistix 32gb 3200mhz ddr4, if ever you'll upgrade your ram buy the higher speed. Ram overclocking is not supported with this prebuild pc motherboard. I tried the intel xmp app but still i can't run the ram at 3600mhz. I also installed throttle stop app and msi kombustor and let the app oc my stock ram. Stock ram running at 3200mhz you can overclock it up to 3600mhz, but since the motherboard doesn't allow it so you can run the ram only at stock speed.

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 3 lety +4

      I bought this pc for $2,399 last mach of this year, during that time the price of rtx3070 alone will cost you $2,100 w/o tax and shipping. It was my last option to get the rtx3070 for the cheapest price possible than buying from scalpers. You can upgrade the ram upto 64gb, you can install 3 hdd and 1 nvme ssd. I think the nvme slot is gen 3 only, but i will recognize gen4 nvme only the speed will run as gen 3 even though you intall a gen 4 nvme. I was able to upgrade my drive to 32TB, 2tb nvme gen 4, 2 10tb 3.5 hdd and 2 2.5 15mm 5tb each drive on raid0 config with some modification.
      ibb.co/NTbBHGK rtx3070 gpu.
      Then i move the motherboard to my new thermaltake view 37 case and ive done another modifications to install another 4 3.5 8tb drives using usb-c to 4 hub usb 3.0.
      Then i bought a gen 3 pcie extension cable so i can install my gpu vertically.
      Replaced my stock aircooler to coolwatercooling aio with some mounting mods, i'm using the NZXT KRAKEN M22 AIO to cool my cpu.
      This is the photo of the maximum upgrade i was able to do after buying this predator orion 3000 prebuilt pc.
      ibb.co/G51HhKk
      But i switched to AMD, so what i did was take my gpu that came with my prebuilt pc and installed it to my asus rogstrix x570 mobo and build my own pc from scratch.
      This now my current AMD build:
      Ryzen 9 5900x cpu.
      Asus rogstrix x570 mobo.
      rtx3070 from my prebuilt pc.
      Ballistix argb 64bgb 3200mhz ram oc'd to 3666mhz.
      91TB of total pc storage 2 2tb nvme's 1 gen 4 and 1 gen3.
      Asus Rog Thor 850w psu 80+ Platinum.
      Thermaltake View 37 pc case.
      Added 3 usb plus 1 usb-c pcie card.
      Added 8 sata slot pcie card.
      Added 2 usb-c slot pcie card.
      Added 1 asus to 4 gen4 nvme pcie card.
      Added 1 aorus to 4 gen4 nvme pcie card.
      Installed 5 thermaltake Riing argb 140mm fans.
      Installed corsair node pro argb led strip.
      Installed 2 Lian-li argb strimer plus v2
      Modified my case to support front usb-c port.
      Made my own DYI 10 3.5 bay hhd rack.
      this is my latest build, still need to buy 4 1tb gen 3 nvme for my asus pcie card. My next build will be installing custom watercooling loop, but I’m still waiting for the other hardwares to arrive before i can finally start with my own watercooling loop.

      It's loud if you set the fans to turbo mode. Avoid placing the laptop on soft surfaces, always place it on hard and flat surfaces so the laptop vent will not be covered. Always place your laptop on dust free and clean surface, so the fans will not get dirty easily. Then if your laptop is more than a year and if you're confident enough to open your laptop, change it's stock thermal paste. I use arctic silver mx-4.

    Got a question is this motherboard able to switch out the 3070 to a 3090. Or is the motherboard able to upgrade the cpu from the i7 to an i9 asking because im thinking about buying this pc on amazon and buying a curve monitor. An 1 more question is this motherboard able to handle 128 gb of ram 3200mhz

    • @jozac05
      @jozac05  Před 2 lety +1

      I think it can't handle the rtx3090, cause the psu that this pc came with is 550watts only, unless you'll upgrade the psu as well. the prebuilt pc psu is not modular, so you have to buy the exact psu with higher wattage. As with the processor i think it is compatible as long as it is same format LGA1200. The specs says maximum ram supported is 64gb only, i haven't tried the 128gb. I have a acer predator 17 laptop before, on acer predator sites says max is 32gb ram supported, but i was able to upgrade it up to 64gb. It's too risky to upgrading from 3070 to 3090, cause you have to buy the same none modular psu and we are not that sure if the mobo will support 128gb of ram.
