    Just came across this video as I picked up a 93 B2200 a little while ago, and I'm looking into swaps, the FE3 seems to be the way I want to go, but my question is, was the engine mounts a straight bolt up? And did you reuse the same 5 speed trans that came with the truck? Thanks a ton man, I hope you still have this beauty.

    I rather keep my 70s horsepower original motor it's carbureted I have no heat Riser tubes or original air cleaner I had modified an original air cleaner to expose the full air cleaner visibly , I can take my smog Parts off of it in 20 minutes after I smog it and it actually runs better and it will sit there and Burn rubber with no issues and anybody who lives in a smog environment that has to smog their vehicles the 86 and 87 Mazda pickups are the best to get they have no check engine light and only one oxygen sensor,, it will still pass smog with normally no issues, I bought it back in 2004 you can gut out the first catalytic converter by the manifold and only run one downward stream and it will still pass smog I have a 2 inch exhaust on mine all the way out in front of the driver's front tire I'm just getting ready to put it back on the road I just got through putting 2-inch drop spindles brand new bearings and will have brand new tires on it soon also brand new calipers right now it's sitting 4in low in the back and two in the front but it will be much lower than this when I am done I will not be cut out my wheel wells I think it's a stupid idea unless you're going to make a show truck other than that

      Sounds like a fun project! Lucky for me here in Washington state any vehicle over 25 years old is emissions exempt so I have no converter or any smog parts. Our climate changes so much here carburetors are not a great option for us. I'd agree that chopping the fender wells and going 20" rims or bigger is only for those highly committed to building a low rider. Tucking 20s is a whole different ball game than just going low. Good luck with it man!

      I would like to know, what kind of carburator you using on your b2200, I still have the oem carb on mine which ran fine for a while then started giving me s much problems. I'm thinking on getting a Holley 5200 carb to put on it or just putting that Kia motor in and running like that. Or I will bore out the motor so I can have more power to do things.

      It's a different animal ut I swapped out the original carb on my 87 B2600 for a Weber and I love it. Got it from Redline. Great improvement over the Mikuni.

    And do u have a CEL on? Or did u do a custom tune

    • @alchemix206
      @alchemix206  Před měsícem

      It's a Miata header, I only have an upstream O2 sensor right now so I do have a CEL for downstream 02 but that one is mostly just for emissions. Just the stock tune currently.

    • @alchemix206
      @alchemix206  Před 3 lety

      Alt was on that side already I think. I had to get a kia pulley and swap it onto the stock Alt. I think it might be SilentDawn (fellow youtuber) or someone like that that made up a simple diagram of how to splice the kia and the Mazda harnesses. It basically comes down to two main relays, One triggers Aux power and then goes on to hit the relay for the fuel pump. I also got a used factory manual for the KIA and the Mazda for cheap. VERY helpful for the more difficult circuits like the heated O2 sensor or the wipers that are tied to the ancient Mazda computer.
