Queen - It's a Hard Life (Guitar Cover)

- This is my absolute favourite Queen track! I think it's so typically Queen, so typically a Freddie song and Brian's solo is one of the most melodic solos of all time in my eyes (or should that be ears). It just sings beautifully! I also love Brian's tone and his spontaneous sounding rhythm parts in the verses that accentuate the piano chords. I tried to copy them as best I can but I think it's one of those things where he wouldn't play it the same twice. I was contemplating doing the live version from Rio but settled on the album cut. I also did something I thought I never would and turned off my compressor setting and I'm very happy with the tone it gave me when backing off my volume. I hope you enjoy!

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.

Really like the cover, & ur guitar is really sounded alike the red special of Bri
Did Brian May proud on this one...no matter what Queen it is I see Freddie Mercury with Wembley in complete control...just awesome 👍💪🤘🤘🤘🍻
Excellent cover! I've always loved this song because its essentially Queen's composition prowess and arrangements from the 1970s put under the more refined production of the 1980s. From what is a synth-driven album, this song is very much reminiscent of the stuff you would find on The Game and earlier - a truly amazing track.
Love, Love Love It. Class
I love this song. Very melodic. Amazing! Hug from Brazil!
I didn’t know this song - but wow! Really impressed. What a change in style from your other covers!
Excellent! the slide down out of the solo into the slide up for the first D note is so seamless its spot on Brian - he creates so much space it almost seems lazy - until I try it.
Sweet!!!! You really make the solo pop!
Another beautiful cover Ben 🎸🎧 and that solo awesome stay safe 🙏 your journey fan always
Nice to see the charvel :) brilliant work as always 🙂
sounds so nice!
Beautifully played 😊
Very impressive
Very cool, as always.
Thank you for this, my absolute favourite band! Good job! Seeing the guitar played out like this really gives me much more appreciation for and understanding of the composition and arrangement of these brilliant rock songs. Please do more Queen!
Thanks! I hope to cover a lot more Queen. Check the playlist in the description for the others I’ve covered in the past.
👏👏 Amazing cover 👏👏
Awesome as always Ben :)
Great job! I knew you could do the "dueling" solo part as one piece. This is one of my favorite Queen songs as well.
Love the Charvel! This song really shows your range. There is an Australian band called Cold Chisel. There album 'East' is worth a listen. There singer Jimmy Barnes had a great song called 'No second prize' which has a guitar solo I think you'd appreciate. You may also like their guitarist Ian Moss. He has solo material worth a look, try 'Healing Hands'. Something a little different. All the best from Sydney, Australia.
Beautiful and thank you.
Will you please make guitar cover on dead by april or metallica
Perfectttt !!! Owwww. !!!👏👏👏🎶🎶🎸
Its you play ( Winger - Miles Way ) Please !!!!✌✌😍
Amazing cover, this song is such a masterpiece! It is interesting that you turned off your compressor, but I feel like your tone, indeed sounds more like a Vox AC30 haha 🤘. Was the feeling different?
Thanks! I turned it off to practice a tapping solo because the compressor was adding too much string noise and I was getting used to the sound and feel. It really helps the Brian may style approach of using the volume to clean up.
Cool thanks for the precision!
EXCELENTE HERMANO
Прекрасное начало из оперы «паяцы»Верди .Фредди был очень образованным человеком.его очень не хватает
I like you're charvel mate
Fantastic! Nothing less than perfect. I love Queen so it's really nice with all those Queen covers.
You make a lot of AOR covers, but I haven't seen You cover Foreigner, Styx or Magnum. 3 of the great AOR bands imo. Maybe not your taste?
Thanks! I’ve covered Foreigner. I like AOR but like any genre of music, there are artists I prefer over others.
@@bwm5150 of course:) I was just curious. I really like the "Mr. Moonlight" album. I find it underrated.
Hey man , what efects did you use to that song ‽ thanks
I use a crunchy low gain distortion, chorus, reverb and I add some delay for the lead lines.
Thank you for your GREAT PERFORMANCE❗😍
If possible plz my QUEEN cover too👍😊
How did you get Brian May Tone?
I use a boss me50. A cleanish overdrive with a compressor helps.
@@bwm5150 thanks for answering
