    OMG, already?! The drakenslang mk1,5 (upgraded version) will not be appearing for weeks, however I just published the gimle vs dual titanslangs, and then I tried the titanslang + the ragnarök against the gimle, cant wait to get my hands on this in the future too, but I will have to wait a bit for you to really perfect it all the way, because when all my weekly gimle battles are over, there will most likely be a Gimle Mk2 as well to counter all of those who potentially won over it :)

People already speak highly of him in games like Stellaris. Personally, I fear what he would make if he had to make a meta craft and take it seriously.

    These doomcrams was one of the reasons that I made the Sewowal Republic Permian Class an airship: Up and Down evasion is almost mandatory if you want your craft to survive and not even 7x7 heavy armour ducts can stop them.

    • @NearQuasar
      @NearQuasar Před rokem +1

      Borderwise, I dont know how, but before I knew that up/down evasion was a thing and I tested the Permian against the Drakenslang, the Permian would still be hit occasionally despite moving at 140m/s and each shot reduced its health by two percentage points.

    • @justgoodvibes1500
      @justgoodvibes1500 Před rokem

      @@NearQuasarWas the dodging predictable? The thing with crams is that they travel so slowly that they might aim at your craft when it dodged down and in the time that it went up and down the crams were still traveling. And since your craft was going in a straight line in a 2d sense, the crams were right where your craft dodged to.

    • @NearQuasar
      @NearQuasar Před rokem

      @@justgoodvibes1500 They almost never hit with up/down evasion combined with a large range. Also the Permian seems to only barely go up or down enough to dodge the crams so that it can dodge more volleys without crashing.

    Spoiler alert!
    Congratulations mate, you earned it! Very smart move to flank the Gimle like that, you also make it obvious that the Gimle needs to have less investment in defensive and more in offensive!
    For the eventual upgrade (when all that wants to got a chance to beat it) it's obvious I need to reinvest what I removed from it's earlier manoeuvrability and turn rate. It's obviously also throwing away too much damage in the lams too.
    The Drakenslang really impresses with that speed and manoeuvrability!

    One thing I noticed is that the Drakenslang, while not really being able to completely go around the Gimle, pretty much ended up in an endless flank. Think the Drakenslang positioning herself behind the Gimle really helped out as the front guns weren't quite able to do much. Wonder if exploiting that weakness was intended or not. Very satisfying battle to watch though!

    You guys should do a small fleet battle, like 3 to 5 shups per fleet and see what happens, aiming for a similar cost in materials. The Army of Gmodism vs the Army of... a small black puffball creature?

Also, I can’t remember if you have done a video on this recently but I wanted to see if you’d be willing to do a new offensive laser tutorial, I’ve been wanting to make a vehicle with them but am so lost as to how I should balance charge rate and storage and whatnot. Obviously don’t do it just for me but maybe others would be interested in seeing that

    I'm liking your upgrades. I would have thought you would have changed the large steam. You have the room. I didn't understand why you had the custom jets. Since you were under budget you could have added more internal armor or added more laser pumps.

    Borderwise, The Drakenslang Mk2 eventually lost against the Permian (The potential Boss craft of the Sewowal Republic) which is roughly 70k materials cheaper without the mandatory plane for them and she does not have any smoke or shields as a deliberate flaw. It took a really long time, due to the Drakenslang eventually destroying the 600rpm frag aps gun, but the Permian also destroyed the laser and the Drakenslang’s aps was too weak to penetrate the armour and only the laser eventually did penetrate the armour at the 600 rpm gun.

    • @NearQuasar
      @NearQuasar Před rokem +1

      With the Mk1, the Railguns could actually penetrate the armour a lot faster than the mk2, so the Mk1 is more effective against the Permian.

    Idk if it's a good idea but maybe you could make turret killers by making extremely high he and frag crams and firing them above enemy ships.

    • @justgoodvibes1500
      @justgoodvibes1500 Před rokem

      You mean like airburst shots that angle the frags down through the turret cap? That would be cool but current targeting only allows you to hit the target directly or explode the cram early (unless you are a LUA box god who ascended to another realm above godhood).

    Border, I like how the school of thought is always 'Oh CRAM is bad." But the CRAM cannons felt like the single most pivotal weapons in this battle. They are DOOM Crams for a reason.

    • @BorderWise12
      @BorderWise12  Před rokem

      CRAM is bad at a lot of jobs, but that's just it: it's specialized! It sucks at dealing with things that are small, fast, underwater or that move erratically, but it is very. very good at dealing big damage to anything it can manage to hit.
      And the bigger something is, the harder it is for it to be evasive... which is why when craft get really big, CRAMs really start coming into their own. 😁👍

    One thing that I really respect about the Gimle is that it's so dang beautiful at the same time as it's downright tough for its weight class. I think the Drakenslang 2 is still in an awkward space on the Armor/Speed/Firepower triangle. Either she's short on effective firepower, or the Gimle is doing something very VERY right on the armor/redundancy. You're doing a great job coring her from back to front, but you might actually want to slow the CRAM shells down so that you get more top to bottom damage.

    • @BorderWise12
      @BorderWise12  Před rokem

      Slowing the CRAM shells down just mans they'll miss more. The Gimle isn't actually that slow.

    • @justgoodvibes1500
      @justgoodvibes1500 Před rokem

      Well, put simply, the Gimle is huge. It is like fighting a hollow tube. There are a lot of empty places to be hit and the ai does not know where the vital spots are.
