21 Gun Salute at Edinburgh Castle | 12 Regt RA and British Army Band Catterick

  • 12th Regiment Royal Artillery (12 Regt RA) fired 21 Royal Gun Salute at Edinburgh Castle for the Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen on 17 July 2024. The musical ensemble was provided by British Army Band Catterick.
    The Governor of Edinburgh Castle, Major-General Alastair Bruce of Crionaich OBE VR DL, the Saluting Officer. 12 Regt RA also had the honour of British broadcaster and writer, Gyles Brandreth attending as Reviewing Officer.

    Hi Haizhen's! Here's a complete march list for you. Fantastic video as always!
    The marches played were,
    1) 0:01-Guards Armoured Division
    2) 4:39-British Grenadiers & The Voice of the Guns
    3) 7:21-All Night Long (Static Piece)
    4) 19:31-The Duchess of Kent (Slow March)
    5) 26:15-British Grenadiers & The Voice of the Guns
    6) 26:58-Arnhem

      Yes well spotted, and Band Sergeant Major (BSM) as acting Drum Major I believe. If so, reminds me of the Royal Artillery Band, when the (BSM) acted as Drum Major.

      @@delvinrodriguez3341I believe the Bandmaster enjoys leading on the mace since he was a Cpl in Kings Div Band, he was the last season dmaj also

      ​@@Nathan.150​ I do remember him leading the Band of the King's Division, when it was still around. He's got great swagger! I believe he's (WO2) Alistair Smith. I believe he's the Band Sergeant Major (BSM). As the Bandmaster is (Staff Sergeant) C. Dullea. Who's marching within the Band.

      Actually the orders state that Her Majesty gets 3 cheers, then the King’s birthday and official birthday also get 3 cheers. All others do not have any
