  • So my hardtail fever didn't go away and got my self a Canyon Stoic 4 hardtail.
    29" wheels, 140mm Rockshox Pike in front and slack headtube...that's all I needed.

    So here's my first ride with it and I went to take a loop in Nuuksio Nation Park.

    Nice video. I'm from Lithuania, just discovered your channel and so far I'm enjoying the content. My friend is planning on getting the Canyon Stoic 3. He is 180 cm (5 ft 11 in) tall, would you recommend the L or the M frame size?

    • @fracturedrider
      @fracturedrider  Před 2 lety +4

      Welcome and glad that your enjoying content. I'm 179cm and I went with L, even though Canyons size calculator said to go M....so far I have loved it. It's stable and you can still through it into some technical terrain. Of course M size would be more playful. I would recommend to go L

    Looks great! Good choice of first ride.
    Just ordered my stoic 2, and I will try to slowly upgrade it :D Can I ask you what size of frame did you get, and how does that suit you?
    I am curious, cause by the charts I am right between M/L (183cm), and I ended up choosing the M size.

    • @fracturedrider
      @fracturedrider  Před 2 lety +3

      I went with L (im 179cm), canyon page said that take M for me but I looked the geo and compared the specs to my L size Dune, they were really close so thats why I took L. M size will be playful for you. I'm happy with size because its something I'm used to. Hope you get yours soon 💪

      @fracturedrider  Před 2 lety

      @@quarkidee2878 also, it depends style of riding you're focusing. To me, this is mainly for going to work (got some nice trail on the way) and bike packing. So L for me is more stable but still can trough it into some downhill trails. M can of course do them too but is more playful on downhills

    Awesome bike, thanks! I have the same pedals, they are not that good. They are too slippery because of the pedal center is too thick. I added some kind of special "safety walk" tape in the middle so it should make the pedal less slippery.

    I love love colour and the frame design of the Canyon Stoic, I’m finding it hard to justify the price point. $2500 AUD for the 4, I’m also looking at Reid cycles void 3.0 plus, they seem to have very similar components, design. Suspension is 130mm travel, only real difference and no dropper standard… but its only $1500 and comes with a 2 free bike services , a mini air pump and basic tool kit…
    Can you please assist at all friend? Maybe take a look at the bike i mentioned compared to the Stoic 4 or even 3. This is my first MTB and want to keep it longer term and if need be upgrade overtime

    • @fracturedrider
      @fracturedrider  Před rokem +1

      I do love it! So versatile bike. Works fine on road,.off road, bikepacking machine and if you put 27.5" rear wheel on, it becomes a bikepark monster. If I could only have one bike, this would be a good candidate. Highly recommended.

    • @Everyday-man
      @Everyday-man Před rokem +1

      @Fractured Rider fantastic, thank you so much for the reply. I am pretty sold on the Stoic! Only issue I have now, is they're on sale but my size is sold out on the 4. Would you also recommend the 3? I understand they use the exact same frame, just some components aren't as good. But to be honest the 3 suits my budget more especially with the 300 off atm. Would you recommend or have thoughts on the 3 from friends or rides meeting others with them possibly.

    • @fracturedrider
      @fracturedrider  Před rokem

      @@Everyday-man Stoic 3 is solid option if your planning to upgrade it later. Of course 4 has better fork stock. But for first bike 3 is a good choice. And there is no point to brake your bank if 3 is more for the budget, go for that. If I remember right, the frame geometric is the same and it's fantastic. Solid foundation for future ripping 💪
