I agree as well. Bancroft had been very successful in shield I agree, but it's not as if Green came up to the test side randomly. He was dominating Shield as well before he came up. Obviously since then he hasn't played much there, but how does that matter? He has already done the yards to get into the first team. Moreover his value addition to the team in other aspects is just undeniable and cannot be neglected for too long. His batting has been unders, but he will get there
Cricket fans are the most impatient and judgemental fans in the world and tend to base all their opinions on what happens in one innings. That being said, our players are subconsciously matching their opponents level of play with these lower ranked teams IMHO and are doing just enough to win and not much more. Im hoping they can radically improve when they play better teams.

Yeah some Aussies are annoyed because we are just coasting. We could absolutely destroy these sides if our players all performed, but that isn't likely. Marnus seems to be allergic to run making at the moment. Smith is having an early mid life crisis, Khawaja has relaxed because it's now 2024, so it's not his year anymore, Carey hasn't performed in a while, Marsh can be given a pass, Green has just come back, so we'll see where he goes. Bowling department is doing enough.
It's not that the early 2000s Aussie team played in a way that every member of the 11 performed at their best every time. Many times, it was about 1-2 people stepping up in crunch situations and taking the responsibility to carry the team as well. And for the bowling, sure McGrath and Warne are all time greats, and no one in this team surpasses them, but as an entire bowling attack I think this is better. In that team, the 4 of McGrath, Warne, Lee and Gillespie didn't play together all that many times, while the current 4 have performed consistently for many years
Windies bowlers came out to play. Shame that they dropped the ball in the catching department (pun intended) at the beginning and end of the innings. Otherwise Aussies could've had half a game in their hands. Also, the batting is just some of the worst ever seen in test cricket in it in the sense that a full member nation being outclassed so heavily in the sense of skill. Although, can you really call them a full membered team seeing as though they missed an ODI WC. I don't know. Hope they can show up in the home T20WC.

I’m just gonna say it. This current Australian side is boring as batshit. I’m so sick of our current bowling quartet. None of our batsmen are exciting other than Trav. If Lyon takes more wickets than Warne I will self harm. Much prefer watching Eng and India go about it. And to a lesser extent nz and saf. Australian decks play a role too. We are so hard to beat at home it makes watching it predictable elevator music. Eng decks are a more even contest.
Green is not a middle order batsmen . I would say a good number 7. His bowling is promising he needs to work on that . Then I’d play him as a front line bowler batting at 7
