The 05-06 GTO is a great car! Most people are sleeping on these cars, you can get one way cheaper then 17 grand. And they can do a 1/4 bone stock somewhere between 12.6 to 12.9 seconds with a good rear tire depending on how bad your sea level is. The GTO gets a bad rap for how slow the LS1 04 GTO is. 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ FACTS

After my hellcat was stolen, I had a tight budget for another v8 muscle/sports car I started looking into chevy/Cadillac. I was stuck between the 09-13 cts-v and 10-13 Camaro SS. After a few weeks of looking around, I found a red 2013 camaro 2SS 1LE. Took it for a test drive and fell in love with the car. I paid 26k in total for the car, a little bit higher than average but that's Illinois for you

NO doubt, C6 Corvette ! Don't know why so many people knock the interior of these, not bad at all on 2-4 lt models. 430 hp in a 3,000 lb. car makes it Very fast for a bone stock car ! 20-26 K for a Nice , Clean one w/mid 12 sec. 1/4 an 190 mph top end, what is NOT to like ? Only problem...? Very easy to loose tread on back tires ! :-) !
You said it perfectly! They're even decently "practical" with the big rear storage and the targa tops are awesome! And with a couple basic mods they go from stock looking to aggressive real quick
plus u can easily get 600 hp with an a&a supercharger
Yes the back just goes like crazy, friend of mine up in Hemet got one for around 22k, loves to beat the crap out of it but it can handle a heavy foot
Yeah I’m sorry buddy I’m one of them I got rid of mine but not really because of the interior I can’t find nobody to work on them to make the performance that I want in the PA area so I sold my 06 C6 Corvette and I got a ZL one Camaro and I really don’t regret it I love it it’s this brand new one six Gen It’s all what you like
C5 Z06 for me. Easily the best performing car on this list in every category imaginable.

A great tidbit is the 6.1 hemi absolutely loves mods. Basic bolt ons and a custom tune lets them run with scat packs and the modern SS/5.0.

@@Luminous.Dynamics to my knowledge, there's no difference. They revamped the interior on the 08', and they were far more comfortable than the 06-07 cars.
Door panels got leather, the sound system got better, the dash was redesigned to be more modern, and the modern infotainment system was added that was touch screen.
Performance wise they're the exact same though. Challengers just have a manual option while the Charger is auto only
always had a soft spot for the GTO aka the Goat. Looking passed the interior, I weirdly love the looks of those things. It looks like so many different cars smashed together.

I love my Second gen coupe. Best car I’ve ever owned. The 556 stock hp was fun but I got use to it quick. It’s not sitting at 950 wheel hp and 1150 on nitrous.
Bought my ‘86 Pontiac Firebird with a 350 and a 5 speed for $8200 at 19 years old (one year ago), near mint condition. Could not be happier.
I love the CTS-V's and the GTO's, if you could find them cheap the G8 is also one of my favorites
The CTS-V is such a sick car, plus I've seen quite a few for right around $10,000. I have a 3.6l CTS. It smoked my buddies v6 mustang and for a v6, drifts like a dream

Honorable mention Challenger RT. With the track pack option and manual they have a posi rear and 3.92 gears. This makes them actually quick with 410 foot pounds of torque that rivals most on this list. 376hp tho so a bit shy of 400.

Glad to see the GTO on the list. My dad had an 05, FBO/ big cam and long tube headers. Made roughly 580 wheel on a bad day. It was fun growing up and learning how to drive in it.

@@LibertyDrives he got it when I was 4 and sold it when I was 16 so yeah I grew up with it. If I remember correctly he had upgraded clutch and flywheel, comp cams, custom tune, full exhaust. The only other thing to do was slap a turbo or supercharger on it but he got “too old” to keep driving it(stick of course) 🤦🏻♂️
I’m glad the 03-04 cobra was in but their advertised hp vs how they actually performed were different they make over 400 crank stock and they’re capable of 900 on stock block

Agreed! Cylinder deactivation is but an evil spurred on by more stringent emissions regulations and have shown itself to be a source of reliability concerns.
Prices are about spot on, I'm in WA and I got my SRT8 Challenger (6speed manual) for 18k with a few mods already installed.....no regrets and since Hellcats are a thing now, people actually underestimate the hell out of these now and think they're slow😂

2021 Camaro 1SS owner A10 here. I paid 40 grand. 422 to the wheels 455lb torque. :) 455 at crank.
My 01 Z06 made 352 whp SAE completely stock. A lot of other 01s do as well, and plenty of 02-04 Z06s dyno 330. All 4 years are basically a crap shoot. If you are including the Terminator the 01 Z06 should definitely be on there, it took my friend's terminator an intake, pulley, X pipe and tune at 437 whp to keep up with my stock 01 Z06.
And the Infinity Q50 and Q60 are both 400 HP and cost aroiund $50,000 in 2016. Twin Turbos and fun to drive. Best sleeper going. Great styling.
Also get 21 MPG in and around milage.

I love the styling and design of the CTS-V. Add on the fact it’s a luxury car with features not seen on other cars at that time, and it’s got a freaking LS engine, RWD, and only comes in manual… this thing is sexy af

I was looking for a fun daily. Searched around and found a 2012 mustang gt. Bought it just before the car market crashed for 16k. Previous owner did a lot to it and it's surely a rocket ship absolute bargain. Been dead reliable and a ton of fun.

The 13-14 GTs actually do 0-60 in 4.3 at best, and 4.5 on average. I love mine for certain.
The C6, 2011-14 Mustang and the 08-10 SRT8 Challenger is what I am eyeing on. They are all good cars, and plan on trying to get one around July-August.
Srt8 over mustang. The mustang was fun but still have my srt8 haven’t driven a corvette so I don’t have an opinion on that

The c5 zo6 are great but so are those c6 both are so easy to build plus the power to weight on both are great

Coming from the "jdm" scene due it be so expensive , i ended up buying a c5 and fell in love. Its amazing for the money plus a couple of thousands dollars in go fast mods make a big difference in the ls family compared to my is300 and sc400.
I love a clean C5, having had a C4 for a little while, I'd say C5s seem like one of the best bang for buck deals as far as corvettes go

@JDM Jerm if you wanted cheap power you should have went Honda. An untuned NA B20 swap in an eg hatch will walk any muscle car with 400hp. AWD is very affordable to implement as well if you're not accustomed to the FWD dig. But everyone knows that there's nothing more dangerous on the streets as "that guy with a laptop and a CRX"

Dude, I bought a 2014 challenger srt8 about 5 months ago for $20k, a few bolt ons and a tune later im sitting on a lil over 500 hp best decision I ever made
What was the mileage? I'm looking for an older srt myself but most I see are like 25 to 30 grand with like 50 to 80 thousand miles
@@fierro7771 mine had 94k miles on the odometer but the previous owner kept up with all the maintenance and took care of any recalls before selling it to me for a bargain, I really lucked out

I knew the c5 z06 would make the list. Hell, I'm in the market for one right now, The LS6 was the more reliable and more capable track engine over the LS2 in the C6 and CTS-V. It had better cooling, more efficient intake, and improved heads optimizing cooling without starving the engine of fuel in high G corners. It's the best track car on this list with a more rigid chassis than any C6 including the ZR1 thanks to the FRC coupe.
The L99 is a ls3 with a lower profile camshaft, and different mounting points to the transmission. The LSA was a forged LS3 block for a 20 percent gain in strength and a blower for 556 horsepower and 551 torque. It's the same block as the LS9 and a great option for ls9 performance at a cheaper price with mods.
That was quite a bit, but I just love the corvette. I enjoyed the video

Dude you had alot of funny parts in your video. I really appreciate you putting it together and sharing. The 6th Gen corvette with a cobalt steering wheel had me laughing out loud. I really needed that. My girl had a cobalt back in 2007. I came close a couple of times to buying a c6. I thought the steering wheel did suck. Never put it together though.

@@LibertyDrives I ended up with a mint c3 instead of the c6. That has been many years back. Even the c3 has been gone a good three years now. I usually don't marry my cars. I get them enjoy and then move to the next.

Nothing fancy on any of them. Just good street cars I like. I use motorcycles for speed and a higher level of excitement. Cbr 1000 rr for speed, two Harleys for beauty and a motocross bike to fly.

I love my '14 R/T. I like the classic rear lights. Not fond of the light switch of '15 and up. I want to get better headlights though not halo shaped lights though just better than what I have.

Honorable mention - 2003 Ford Lightning. I loved that bad boy maybe even more than my '04 Cobra (identical to 6:36). Bigger engine, better build, better seats.
I don't recommend anyone buying any of these. Unless you find 1 w/ very low mileage. They plastic junk.

Just a note on the C6: only the 2005 had a 4 speed auto (4L65). 2006-2013 would have the 6 speed auto (6L80).
Sure would have hated to buy that first year when it came out only to see them drop the 6 speed next year!

2020 Scat pack Charger. 485 hp. It's a large and heavy car but you don't feel it. Can spin the rear in third gear and can get wiggle in the rear in 4th gear. Big torque(475) out of the 392.

That's exactly why you shouldnt buy one. Spins the tires in third gear while losing a race to a C5 Z06 that doesn't even spin in FIRST gear. That's what happens when you put 485 hp into a cheap basic car, vs a car designed and built to race on track.

Several that should’ve been on this list but isn’t is the Jeep Srt8, Ram SRT10, Lightning, Harley Davidson F150 supercharged, trailblazer SS, Silverado SS, SRT Magnum, 2011-14 F150, Pontiac G8/GXP, there’s probably more that haven’t came to mind but those are some that should be on the list.
All great options! I tried to keep these to American muscle/sports cars, but those are all still definitely ones to consider
