Climbing in The Needles memorial Day Weekend 2018. Day 1: Airy Interlude, Thin Ice Day 2: Igor Unchained, Spooky, The Howling Day 3: first pitch of Ghostbumps, first pitch of Atlantis.
Beautiful place. I got to do White Punks On Dope when I went on a weekend climbing trip to the Needles many years ago (circa 2000). Incredible climb, I don’t think it could have been any more perfect. The last top out pitch was a little nerve racking though when trying to decipher the tugs on the rope from my partner. Does he need slack or am I on belay? Sh*t...
hey man, quick question about ur anchors. why did u opt to build them with ur rope as opposed to using sling material? wondering how u made the transition to following safe? love ur content man!
I got so lost on the approch from above. Did better hitting the lowest dome from below. Would like to return and figure out the hike into those beautiful rocks from the top. Your bike trail looked nice.
I really enjoy your content. If you ever need a trad buddy in the Eastern Sierra give me a holler. Curious what your alpine draw/extending cam technique is? Saw you clipped the large purple sling with the other end of the alpine draw already on your rope. Cheers.
Nice, I was there that weekend as well. Might have crossed paths on the trail or at the fireside. Spencer and I climbed Atlantis on Friday and then left Saturday morning to Yosemite. Looks like despite gloomy conditions around camp it was pretty nice climbing conditions all weekend.
Nice work! Some of my favorite climbing is in the needles. The book and the 11++ are probably the best stemming pitches I’ve ever done.

You dudes stay safe, my hands and arms hurt just sitting here.
Not as much fun now a days since no cookies on Sundays.
