  • Climbing the Harding Route on Keeler Needle 8/10/18. It was a bit of an ambitious attempt being that we had both been climbing outside for less than a year and we both had no experience climbing offwidth.

Watching your vids show that you have good judgement like a true Trad Climber of the past...I started climbing in 1979 with fat 150ft 11mils..hexs and stoppers..pins 1" web with ovals and primitive sit harness's with EB's...no cell phones or GPS..no rescue...topos didnt exsist..just vague guide books with a photo or 2..no head lamps and orginal Jumars.
    Keeler was definitely Old School.
Keep up the great work 🏔🏞🏕

Watching you on that desperate wide section I had to chalk up sitting here at my desk.

I love it! You have improved so much from this. Nose in a Day! Monster Offwidth. But it was from these humble beginnings you were able to do them. Pulling on gear on a 10c off width to sending 13s! Your videos are the best and very inspirational.

Love these big wall videos so much. Hope to see more since I think most climbing videos are more about sport climbing. I would love to see more!

Woof, some shaky climbing in there! So glad you know how to place gear and build an anchor. Well done on bagging a big objective though, much kudos.

how do you free yourself from the double figure 8 anchor if you're leading the next pitch? like at 5:25

Alex Davidson good question. We had to build a new anchor with cord or slings once my partner got up. I linked the previous two pitches and used all my long slings up so I only had the rope left to build an anchor if I recall correctly.

Where's your stopper knot after the fig.8?

@@stvm a yo finish isn’t a figure 9 though, just a tail tuck. A figure 9 involves another half twist in the original knot.
