When we reviewed JVC's NZ8 and NZ9 models, we were highly impressed with their performance and they have been a top seller at Audio Advice since their introduction. Now, JVC is introducing new upgraded models, the NZ800 and NZ900, which feature their third-generation D-ILA chips, second-generation 8K e-shiftX, optimized BLU-Escent Laser light source for more lumens, and other video enhancements.

JVC projectors have always been top of class - I am sure these new models raise the bar even higher!
They sure do! Thanks for watching!
I understand projectors are struggling against the 1000+ nits of the large screen tvs in HDR, but for the price point of these two projectors, why does JVC not spend the money to pay for the dolby vision license? It seems to me that dolby vision is winning the format war over HDR10+, and if they can map the HDR10+ to make it look good on a projected image, they can most likely also map the dolby vision. Thanks for the review!
Glad you enjoyed the review. Thanks for sharing. We are not sure if the fee is too much or what but will ask them as its a good point
They got back to us very fast. It turns out Dolby Vision has to know the max nits output, which is super simple with a TV, but that of course varies with screen size, screen gain, and throw distance so there is no way to give them a number.
JVC Projectors are Killer. Can't wait to see this new series. This is a great time to be a Home Theater enthusiast!
It sure is! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video. I've been a long-time JVC user, and I appreciate that they continue to provide improvements to projectors that are already class-leading in so many areas.
Great to hear!
Huge JVC fan. Can't wait to check them out at Audio Advice Live!
It will be a ton of fun his year!
Love the detailed comparisons, you guys always make it easy to understand the "advice"
Our pleasure!
Great job and these new JVC projectors look fantastic!
Thanks! We agree!
Love these projectors. I have an older JVC NX8 and have been waiting for the right time to upgrade. I think the NZ800 will be perfect for my situation. Nice video.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
It looks like there are some great improvements in these new models! Can't wait to see them at Audio Advice Live!
We hope to see you there
Nice breakdown of the new JVC models.
Thanks!
This is honest genuine advice by Audio Advice and that’s why I admire them.
I bought the NZ8 4 months back. I have a 120 inch 2.35 screen in a totally light controlled room. I don’t see a point in upgrading right now. It’ll probably make sense to upgrade in a few years. Hopefully projectors will come in native cinema scope rather than 16:9.
Thanks so much!
Great overview! Increased brightness and contrast means a bigger screen!
Absolutely!
Awesome review, very detailed. DILA tech is ever evolving, and getting amazingly good. This is a considerable step forward in that direction.
Highly reccomended for anyone considering a projo in this price range.
Couldn't agree more!
Great breakdown!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Terrific review. I love the JVC blacklevels. I saw the NZ9 at Audio Advice Live last year. I assume I will be able to see the new ones at Audio Advice Live this year?
Yes, we are planning on it as of now! Thanks for the kind words.
Great review! Will you ever get a chance to look at the insane Christie projectors like the Eclipse or Cinelife? They're worth more than most folks houses but one can dream lol
Haha yes those are quite impressive projectors! We've experienced them before but we aren't sure we will do a review on them. Thanks for watching!
if we pair this with grey screen rather than white , will there be any difference in black levels
Call or chat with our experts at audioadvice.com and they can help you determine how your screen will pair up with it.
Great video intro for these two new models. I bought my NZ8 as an "end-game" projector and see no need to upgrade. If this weren't the case, I'd be concerned about resale value now.
Thank you! And yes, not a need to upgrade.
So expensive still! I may have to get one of them, 3 year warranty is not enough it used to be 5 years.
Fair enough. Many of our customers have had great support with JVC too.
Looks nice. Will you have this for demo in Charlotte soon?
We aren't sure of a timeline for when you could demo them. It'd be best to reach out to the Charlotte store and have them keep you updated! 704-821-4510
Maybe I missed it but are there any changes in throw distance? Specifically wondering if it can output a larger image at the same distance from the NZ8/9
Throw distance is the same
I think we are getting to the point that TVs will take over the 120 inch and smaller group soon.
TV's are getting more affordable for larger screens but many would argue there will still be a place for projectors!
Especially if you want a cinemascope screen.
Big TVs are to hard to move and the screen is somewhat fragile and easy to break. I would not buy a TV larger than 85” after that short throw projector with a pop up screen up to 150” then a projector like these.
@@FatalXSthat’s why I can’t wait for micro led to get more affordable. 10-15” panels making up a huge screen with thousands of nits of brightness and oled black levels. Too bad it probably won’t be anytime soon 😢
What's the release date on these? If one pre-orders now, when do they start shipping? Thank you!
We expect shipping to be mid-June. Very soon!
Is 133in screen size too small for a projector like nz800? The size of my media room can only project a 133in image
Not at all. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for more questions.
It sounds like I can turn on gaming mode and have reduced lag for when I am gaming, but then turn it off and get the best processing for when I am watching movies. Is this correct?
Exactly. Thanks for watching
Do you guys know if the Input Lag has been improved for Gaming in NZ800/NZ900 over NZ8/NZ9? This would be killer to know
Not that we know of, but we will double check with JVC
They got back fast, no change
@@AudioAdvice I really appreciate the info. The bump in brightness is still worth it, in my opinion. I hope I can place a pre-order with you guys! Keep up the good work :)
So what will happen to the entry level JVC? Will it get a refresh/upgrade or go away? Thanks again.
No word on the others at this point. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice thank you for the reply.
Will they also upgrade the nz7
We have not heard anything on the NZ7 yet. Appreciate you watching our video
Awesome projectors but at $16k and $26k too rich for my blood. Hope to see some good updates to the lower models too
Thanks, we do to! Appreciate you watching
And what about VRR an ALLM support?
No, you would want to use the 4K/120 input with low latency mode
@@AudioAdvice That is not too much in 2024 for gaming... Considering that they are revised design of their predecessors, should have been implemented to them. (shame on them...)
Nothing about improved fan noise?
It is the same
NZ9 price will drop high for sure
You are correct!
As soon as I'm a millionaire..😢
Haha, fair enough!
Prices?

Why am I excited about this people will be selling there nz7 nz8 and nz9 to upgrade to one of these which means l can probably find a good used jvc nz 7 8 or 9 for a great price anybody who want to sell one to upgrade to these let me know
Great point!
How many fake accounts on here claiming this is a significant leap forward in picture quality 😂. The truth is these are overpriced toys that look similar to current models
haha 8k @ 60 only Hz on over 9000$ projector. Nice try jvc.
You can always get 120 at 4K though!
Too expensive
fair enough, these are high performance projectors for world class theaters
