I love how vw is still pushing with sedans. SUVs are great, but there's very little that can match the elegance of a sedan. Hopefully we get more sedans from other brands, like a new gen Ciaz, Kia stinger or K5, a tata sedan, etc

Sedan is anytime better than a SUV. The only benefit a SUV offers is the ground clearance. Rest, a sedan is better than a SUV in every other aspect. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@nasdoc1 absolutely and now with these high ground clearance cars there is no reason to not consider a sedan over an SUV
What SUV?? There are just 2 or 3 proper SUv in the market ...rest are just wannabe

VW have a winner on their hands. A real gamechanger that is going to pull in customers from the SUV segment as well. If priced right, the Virtus is going to absolutely kill it!
I own a Tata safari new at present... before that I owned a Honda city 2011 model that I sold on 2021..the driving pleasure and comfort level in hinda city was way ahead...only issue was the low ground clearance..at present I m still missing that city driving pleasure..
But this virtus and slavias are pulling me again towards sedan...
Hats off to the designers. Aesthetic appeal and oozes charm without missing out on anything. VW & Skoda have done a great job. They will rob this segment.

I bought the Vw Virtus on 23rd july 2022, completed 1700 kms till 2nd august and reported a problem to service centre when i went in for swagat check up that the car is pulling to the left. They tried to solve the problem by exchanging front tyres, got back the car, problem was not solved, reported it back on 6th august. They confessed that the car is new and they don’t have any data for wheel alignment. I was called back on 11th august, i dropped my car and back to back 3 wheel alignments were done with trials, problem was not solved i tried showing the car 3rd party wheel alignment centres and they did not have the data for the car too, until now i had completed 3400 kms, now i had a indistrial vist to ahmedabad, mumbai, pune for which i travelled 2400 kms in my car and i face severe left shoulder pain in my trip for those 10 days, now i dropped my car again and 2 wheel alignments have been done again but the problem has not been solved as i went for the trial, service centre has opened up the disk of the car( which is a technical term of vw service centre to solve the issue via company ) service centre has acknowledged the issue now, but none of have the solution for this. Now as a part of doubt i went and took a test drive of both manual and automatic 1.0 demo cars and both of them were pulling to the left, which was shocking. As a part of doubt now i went to check skoda slavia and noticed that the car has same problem, till now i drove 4 cars and reported the same problem. See i have experience of around 2 lakh kms of driving in last 10 years in which i have driven 80kms on my VW Polo, so i have not faced an issue like this before. One suggestion came in as the road bankings are made on the left side so the car pulls on the left side but them someone suggest to drive the car wrong side on the same road and if car is pulling towards the divider, opposite to the banking, then the issue is serious, i did it. This is a serious issue and i have a tremendous shoulder pain. Writing this to big car channel, so that Vw should recognise this issue. Thank you🙏🏼
It's surprising that the automatic verisons of the 1.0 and 1.5 TSI are really fuel efficient....both nearly have 18.7 kpl...but Virtus needed to have the idle stop start for the 1.0 version
What a smooth review. Also other car reviewers can take a leaf out of Autocar's book when it comes to background music. The background music is present but it is "background" music only, and you can hear Gavin's voice throughout without straining.

before this I would have picked rapid over vento. Now i would pick the Virtus over the Slavia. Starting from the looks, its just slightly better suited in everything.
Fun fact : This car has a larger boot than a Fortuner and Innova Crysta. This thing literally ignited my love for sedans. It can go over broken patches with ease and still have great dynamics. Can't ask more.
I can keep my cycle upright in a ertiga or innova and even carry long rods from market... its not only suitcases we carry..

Good for the Sedan segment. The pseudo SUVs that are sold in India cannot hold a candle to a true blue sedan in pure driving dynamics and pleasure 👍

Virtus gt is distinctive in look than the 1.0 litre variant . Skoda should also make changes in slavia for the 1.5 engine🥺🥺
Came down here to comment the same. It really bugs me that Skoda did not distinguish the two.

Some reviewers just upload a review just for the sake of doing ..goes blah blah blah and nothing productive and very negative.Every product has a defect here and there and nothing is bug free in this world. But some people make it a big issue to the point of advising not to buy the product.
They concentrate so much on petty things like touchscreen size, headlamp type (DRL, halogen, led ,xenon,reflector,projector etc),wheel caps,sequential tail lamps etc.
I took the VW Taigun 1 Liter and boy it is such an incredible Car for me in the city and Highways. That is enough if you travel with your family

I was hoping it to be a good handler and it has indeed turned out so. It seems in the comparo with other sedans in this class, Virtus will turn out to be the driver's car. It looks good and has all the equipment with two strong powertrains. VW has another winner at its hands

I have a stock vento 1.6 tdi. I've heard that it is pointless to push a diesel car to red line. So at what rpm should I shift each gear to achieve the fastest 0-100 timing in my car?
Is there any chance of hybrid version like Honda city . Available in VW

How is the AC in 1.0 Engine? My friend got Slavia 1.0 and AC performs terrible.

as a VW Polo 1.5 TDI owner, i only wished VW launch a diesel with cylinder deactivation tech or a hybrid power train or a hydrogen based ICE with cylinder deactivation.. a strong build with atleast 30kmpl mileage. This will be a dream come true considering the current fuel prices. Until that tech comes into production I would stick to what I have

The automatic is a dual clutch and it will be faster and sportier than manual any fy which I think is the point of gt

I am keen on buying it, but want to see the different coloured variants in person, before booking. Somehow the online colours do not appear to give the correct representation. I believe the launch is on 09 June, so the showrooms will have these variants only by then. Any idea what the waiting period is likely to be?
I like exterior of virtus and interior of Slavia. AC vents in Virtus are from 1980s. And a bit overdone chrome in front bumper of virtus. Also all LED in Virtus hope Skoda also gives all LED lights.

It seems after an Long Time sedan class some Tough competition to its Japanese car maker from the European Giant...Honda was ruling this Mid size sedan class and now Skoda and Volkswagen time shall tell

Good thing about virtus and slavia are their interiors but bad thing about them is that they are not as sleek as Honda city.

We need more ground clearance to drive on Indian roads. Looks are not everything. Look at practicality too. The conditions here are very different from what you find in USA or Europe, or anywhere in the rest of the world. So well done to VW for keeping that in mind.
At first premiere of virtus I quite didn't like the front bumper design and found overall design to be bit overboard ,few days down the line with the review of the car I find it more handsome looking than Slavia especially from side and back . One wish though from my side is availability of badge coloured seats for 1.5 litre variant . Badge looks more premium and lot more roomier as well ,also red colour lining on the dashboard looks a bit jazzy to some people liking especially me.
VW need to introduce virtus like hatchback or rebrand polo with this look, it will reform the hatchback space.

Unless it is officially sold in India,do not buy the pixels as there is hardly any service centre even in metro cities. My friend had a terrible experience with his Pixel 2 XL as it caught in bootloop and the service centre in Chennai had no clue on how to solve it.

70 percent city drive and 30 percent highway drive
On highway have to go 500 km on strech and my average speed on highway 80-90 kmph

I own the t roc and these cars with 1.5 tsi dsg at these prices are a no Brainer. I upgraded from honda city cvt n trust me guys these cars are a different league if u self drive. if ur chauffer driven then buy city n be happy with lower maintenance etc.

If u drive alot urself n want to feel connected with the car and love sporty handling dynamics and for superior build quality n safety is top priority too go for vw. Also remember that maintenance costs are 20 30% higher. Fuel efficiency is upto u how u drive. My honda city cvt automatic gave me 7.5 avg in Mumbai consistently for 5 years while my t roc gives me 8 to 9 in 8 months of owning it n driving daily same road n conditions of traffic too.
