Say what you will about Schwarzenegger's performance; at least you can tell he was having fun
The Odd Life of Timothy Green review.
+mach6247 Excuse me?
yes Rhett you are excused
Arnold Schwarzenegger majority of the time have fun with his roles no matter how awful his movies are.. Not saying all his movies are awful either.. Love The Terminator Movies, Commando, The Predator, Conan the barbarian 1 and 2, and ect
More like he was having pun
"Your emotions make you weak!" This coming from the guy whose defining motivation is saving his dying wife...
Intentionally ironic?
He doesn't let people know that.
Freeze was just acting tough to be "cool"... yeah ok, i'll leave now.
Exactly, to save his wife he had to let go of everything else, and become a creature of pure determination.
About Alfred And Freeze's wife, this is explained: They've got the same disease, but Alfred is still at the first/second phase, which can be cured by Freeze medicine. His wife instead is at the third and there is no known cure for this.
R.I.P. Joel Schumacher, this movie may have been awful, but you seemed like a genuinely good man at heart, especially when apologizing for this film's existence.
Victoria Garcia Wait, Joel is dead ?
@@adonis7626 yeah, he died on June 22nd 2020.
I stand by my defense of liking Batman Forever though.
I don't think this film is anywhere close to as bad as people make it out to be. Yeah, it's stupid, and very bad when compared to the first two Batman movies, but worst movies of all-time? Fuck off, not when shit like Foodfight, Garbage Pail Kids and Freddy Got Fingered exists.
@@DarkAttackYT Yeah, that one's definitely up there. I've never even watched the show and I was insulted by it.
Fun fact: the actor who plays Dr. Jason Woodrue, John Glover, also voiced the Riddler in "Batman: The Animated Series".
Oh, wow that was him? Weird how he was in this movie and not Batman Forever.
He was also Clamp in Gremlins 2.
And was a Luthor in Smallville. And was the villain's father in Shazam.
Ok that’s actually interesting
@@DeirdreRoxanne Why would they get Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones to play The Riddler and Two Face in Batman Forever?
And that is how Nostalgia Critic became the new Joker...
what does this have to do with the original comment

Of course!!
One of my favorite memories from cosplaying the Nostalgia Critic to a con was 2 different people randomly saying 'Bat Credit Card' to me and me just getting to let loose yelling at them 😆 It was so fun!
I don't get it though. Sure it's incredibly stupid but so is everything else in this movie. I don't see why he singled that thing out.
@@MrMarinus18 For a superhero who’s hellbent on keeping his identity a secret, why does he have a credit card? His secret identity would be revealed pretty damn fast
@@brenyattaits movie lambcorn, who cares
@@nickelbrickell It's like if you suddenly gave the *A-Team* Credit Cards: That's gonnna be so stupid and go down so quick.
Freeze's wife had a more severe stage of the disease while Alfred wasn't that far along. It's explained in the movie. Which was still terrible.
He came back to this in a later video and brought that up
honestly i never thought of it as terrible, they put in that little twist to help show that Freeze isnt inherently evil, more chaotic/neutral by D&D standards.
and Freeze was a doctor before he joined the polar bear club, so as a Batfan i could get behind the little story twist.
There probably wasnt a reliable cure when nora was first diagnosed. Since shes been frozen for several years, and freeze being a doctor, he probably developed cures for earlier stages, but Nora's case is so far ahead, he cant really keep up.
Thanks for saving me the time to make a proper Explanation, this Autistic brain of mine couldn't have done better
At least they explained this, 2 other good things about it: not killing Freeze and Ivy (still sad for Two-Face and the Penguin); Batgirl being Alfred's niece so it's really the Batfamily.
As someone who's read the comics, I can't fault Bruce for loving Alfred; he's stepped up and went from butler to surrogate father for Bruce.
Hell, even if you didn't read the comics, the shows portray him as a good replacement father for Batman.
Yeah, Doug’s joke there makes him look rather ignorant. It’s never been any secret that Alfred raised Bruce and was for all intents and purposes his father.
SapphireFlame
Yeah honestly I think that’s an actual good scene that’s slightly ruined by the fact that Bruce has changed actors twice.
@@thewerewolff7248 Three times, you forgot Kilmer and or Keeton.
Sci
No i didn’t miss one. There’s been 3 actors so the actor has changed two times, it started with Keaton, changed to Kilmer and then changed again to cloony. That’s 2 changes.
This is why Superman works alone.

"Your emotions make you weak!"
Uh... did they literally forget this villain's backstory?
Mr. Freeze didn't use the Cure on his wife, because he only found the cure for the first stage of the disease, where Alfred was at. His wife was on a much harsher stage.
It's even foreshadowed earlier in the movie, when Batman is looking at Mr. Freeze's research, and says that he appears to have found the cure for early stages of the disease.
It’s still really contrived that they have the exact same disease
He went over that in the first Top 11 Fuck Ups video
and he didn't even Mention bane
Still a better looking Bane than Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy perhaps doesn't look like Bane, but _he still acts like Bane it's supposed to be_.
+Ian Cobain he looked better, but Tom hardy acted a way better bane
+Gokussjdensetsuno45 No he still sucks too and (besides this one) is the worst portrayal of Bane ever. He sounds like a worse version of Darth Vader the mask is retarded and unnecessary, and you can't understand a single thing he says, besides that he was born in the darkness. So yeah Tom Hardy still sucks.
+Wicked Bat I understood him for the most part. You are exagerating.
"Alfred's niece Barbara?" I'm not a huge Batman fan, but isn't she supposed to be Commissioner Gordon's daughter?
Kugawattan Yes. Yes she is
Maybe Gordon and Alfred are siblings!!! DUN DUN DUUUUUUU!!!!!
WJZAV or maybe the writers couldnt even bother to read a fucking wikipedia page
I found my answer funnier. Just sayin -_-
Besides, i don't think Wikipedia existed when this movie came out.
Kugawattan according to imdb trivia they rewrote the character because they thoyght nobody would believe Alicia Silverstone as Pat hingles daughter.

batman forever: haha. this is so bad it's funny.
batman and robin: why
+Charlie Hinkley I think that Batman Robin was a poor excuse to try to be "family friendly" and a poor excuse to try to sell merchandise. I think that was also the reason why A Christmas Story 2 was panned by the critics. A Christmas Story 2 was done as an excuse to try to sell merchandise.
Honestly, I think Batman Forever had enough of an atmosphere at times to still be considered a "decent" Batman movie, including having a parrallel between Bruce and Dick with how they're both working through the loss of their families, taking up a life of crime fighting and working through that together. Its probably the only incarnation of Robin which was done rather well. Mind you, I recently rewatched that movie as an adult and I knew that if I saw that in the theater...I probably would've stayed away from Batman And Robin.
+badgerman Omg, they seriously came out with A Christmas Story 2?! WTF? I've never heard of that. Holy shit though, WHY??? It didn't need a sequel! They ruined it!!!
+badgerman Dear LORD, I just looked up the trailer! I couldn't believe it. I must've not heard about the sequel because I only had Netflix and probably didn't see any commercials of it? Wtf were they thinking?
I still feel that "Batman and Robin" was made to sell merchandise and a poor attempt to be be "family friendly"
*Joel Schumacher: 1939 - 2020*

Walt Disney actually could've hid in Disneyland, he had an apartment in the firehouse. So technically, if you didn't know about the apartment, he could've so....

TheHauntedMansionFan12345 true true

How do you keep a secret from the word's greatest detective? It's easy, you stick it right in front of him, right under his long pointy nose and wait.

Freeze: You lie!
This was my first Nostalgia Critic episode I ever watched. Still holds up.
I have to say, the scenes with Bruce and Alfred are the only great scenes in this movie. They have a ton of emotion.
Antonio Figueroa I concur. It's too bad the Nostalgia Critic cheapened it with the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" crack.
Antonio Figueroa IMO, Michael Gough (Alfred in this movie) is the only actor in this movie who is actually trying.
Antonio Figueroa I think that the Alfred dying storyline deserved a much better movie.
I agree, at least Michael Gough was trying to get himself axed from this movie as quickly as possible.
Jake Voronkov Yes and no. The Adam West TV series was aimed at a younger audience and was campy on purpose. This movie is a sequel of Batman Forever, which had a more serious tone. Don't get me wrong, I like B&R and the cheesiness of the old series, but Joel Schumacher tried to do a good movie, but studio involvement, Schumacher's slipping heavy gay undertones, bad casting choices an horrible directions set this flick towards failure... Is it funny? Hell yeah! But not for the same reasons we laugh at sixties Batman...
"I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it 'cuz you don't want to"
The very idea of Batman having a credit card is completely idiotic.
The funniest thing about the Bat Credit Card is that it makes perfect sense. If Batman needed to make an emergency purchase, he would need a separate credit card that didn't tie back to his Bruce Wayne identity. xD
"DOES NOT COMPUTE!"
and thus, one of Nostalgia Critics greatest lines was born. Happy 10th anniversary :)
I don't think the Bruce and Alfred scene was that "gay". It's the one scene in the movie with some substance. It's a son talking to his father figure, not knowing if it'll be the last time. If you look at the way Bruce hugged Alfred, it's the way any man would hug their father. So......that's the ONLY thing I can defend.
M. Chedderbeef I agree
Indeed. The intimate scenes with Alfred actually felt like the one scenes that were actually taken seriously in the whole film
Yeah it’s irritating that you actually have some pretty interesting and powerful scenes in an otherwise awful film
@@Zug8415 Indeed.
And this same scene actually contains some surprisingly powerful dialogue too.
Namely this from Alfred:
"Death and chance stole your parents. But rather than become a victim, you have done everything in your power to control the fates. For what is Batman if not an effort to master the chaos that sweeps our world, an attempt to control death itself?"
Very gay scene.
Crazy to think this review came out before the dark knight.

+MasterJunior93 did you try turning your device on and off again?
What annoys me about this movie isn't the cheap sets. It isn't the corny one liners. (I actually love word play, *especially* one-liners.) It isn't the ridiculously X-rated Bat/Robin suits. Hell, it isn't even the Bat Credit card. It's the fact that Batman isn't innovative enough to think, "Hang on. My voice is easily recognisable. I should change that!" Anyone with fucking ears could deduce it's Bruce Wayne under that mask.
+Chris Sullivan It seemed more like George Clooney was playing himself in a Batman suit in this film rather than actually playing Batman.
It was George Clooney showing off his nipples
+Xehanort10 Difficult for a guy like him to do anything else. Sure, a voice change would've helped but you're always going to see him as Clooney dressed up like Batman rather than just well...Batman. Blame the casting.
Oh come on, if you are into this shit you should beyond that. How nobody can figure out that clark kent is superman? who cares, it's a silly comic.
leonardoflorentin I'm going by the logic of the film as a standalone, not drawing from the comics. Like hearing a family member calling you from the other side of the house, you don't have to look for them to know who it is - it's bleeding obvious. You only have to recognise their voice. Same applies here.
You're completely right about Superman, and I honestly agree with you, but still, calling Batman comics 'silly' is a little redundant, don't you think? ALL Batman comics are silly! Yeah, serious undertones are thrown in now and again (New 52's Joker? Creeeeepyyyyy~!), and the overall atmosphere mainly depends on the writers/artists, but predominantly, the idea of a man swinging around in a cape punching bad guys in the name of JUSTICE is freakin' hilarious to me. And that's why I love them.
You may not like comics, and that's fair enough, but that doesn't mean you can shit on people who do.
R.I.P., Joel Schumacher. Thanks for the memories.

"What killed the dinosaurs? The ice age!"
"Actually, scientists are leaning towards a continent-sized meteor as the cause of the mass extinction."
" -.- Die."
The Ice Age was millions of years after the dinosaurs had already died, so they could not possibly have been related. I don't think THAT 4:35 would've been so bad if it had just been DONE WELL. The Robin and Batgirl characters had ORIGINATED in the 60's TV series, so then it was probably appropriate that THIS movie be modeled on THAT more.
Robin and Batgirl were from the comics, but the first Robin outside of the comics was from the serial films of the 1940's (which had two installments with two different actors for the dynamic duo). But first Batgirl outside of the comics was the one played by Yvone Craig from the campy live-action TV show of the 1960's called Batman.

Imani S. H. You lie!
BAT CREDIT CARD. YOU OWN A BAT CREDIT CARD. DOES NOT COMPUTE. DOES NOT COMPUTE. DOES NOT COMPUTE.
Shit I need one
10:36 “Awkward…” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
At least it's the closest we have to Batman vs The Terminator.
Hmm, i felt that Arnold was the only thing COOL about this movie.
+MountBücke Kreative Haha, good one
A bat FREAKING credit card!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
+MountBücke Kreative Arnold was actually entertaining in the same way Nick Cage made Wicker Man a hilarious film. His over-the-top performance and one liners made me laugh throughout.
You better chill dude
Oh god man, not you too not the ice puns!
Still better than the TTG Robin, and I'm partially joking.
at least Robin wasn't psychotic
+Chandler Orrell TTG robin or BaR Robin?
RedNarwhal ttg
+Chandler Orrell He kinda is. There's an episode where he goes batshit crazy because of some dumb "plot" reasons, and takes it out on a bunch of garden gnomes.
RedNarwhal ttg Robin is psychotic
we had some good things from this movie
like how poison ivy's debut in the animated series had a poison kiss that killed people
6:06 'Why not kill him now ?' - Because '[he]'ll be back !'
I felt Schwarzenegger was the best actor in this movie. I loved his puns. Especiallly:
"Tonight's Forecast. A FREEZE IS COMING!"
But yeah this is the worst Batman movie.
To be honest it's not really saying much when you say Arnold was the best actor in this film.
You know, there is a Psy-goa Trance song that uses that pun as it's only lyrics.
It's called Freeze from a Greek trance band called Cyan.Check it out if you want to.
Batman The Movie : Very campy but hugely enjoyable 7/10
Batman : The greatest comic book movie ever made 10/10
Batman Returns : Brilliant villains and amazing visuals 9.5/10
Batman Mask of the Phantasm : Great voice acting, animation and music 9.4/10
Batman Forever : Bit too over the top but still hugely enjoyable 7.3/10
Batman Begins : Apart from some bad pacing,it's awesome 9.8/10
The Dark Knight : Amazing action, writing and villain 10/10
The Dark Knight Rises : Full of plot holes and a bit anti climatic but still a great finale 7/10
Batman is not a comic book movie. Batman kills in that movie. That's already breaking the characters number one rule. How the fuck is that faithful to the comic? Also it's interesting to point out that burton has said in interviews that he doesn't read or like comics and that he's more interested in the villains and what grew to be his usual weird emo shit. Batman (not Bruce Wayne) is in the movie for literally less than 30 minutes.
+Sebastian Fitzpatrick Why do people keep forgetting Gotham Knight? It starts off not great but the animation through most of it is beyond beautiful and it has some heart wrenching scenes.
nick hurns Batman 89 is based the original Bob Kane / Bill Finger comics where he killed,Burton was quoted on saying that he loved The Killing Joke and Batman not being in the film creates great mystery for the character.
+Sebastian Fitzpatrick What is your score for Batman and Robin?
+Sebastian Fitzpatrick Batman v Superman?
The Robin's dialogue replacement was the best thing here😄😄😄
Anakin in Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith be like:
If you view Batman & Robin as a serious superhero movie, it's terrible. If you view it as a two hour-long shitpost, however, it's a masterpiece.
💩✉️
At least the Adam West series stylized the campiness, and had a lower budget so it was justified.
Lower budgets do not justify anything. Nevertheless, I love the classic Adam West series.
Toy Bonnie Well, that and it was INTENTIONALLY campy. This is just... horrible. No wait, that's too generous.
If one wants to watch a good Batman movie that also features both Batman and Robin, go for the Adam West movie or Batman Forever. At least THOSE were entertaining. This one is just... painful. Like, 'holy crap give me a cyanide pill' painful.
And the Adam West show was a parody of what the Batman comics were like at the time since they were forced to tone them down in the 50's and 60's because of a hack psychologist called Frederick Wertham who blamed comics for juvenile delinquency, homosexuality and violence just because he didn't like comics.
The number 1 worst Batman movie. I love that catchphrase "A Bat Credit Card? They gave him a Bat Credit Card!?"
Bat Credit Card that makes really pisses me off too. (#゚Д゚)
God, old Nostagia Critic was the best!
