And the Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and The Wind Waker versions only got kidnapped in the end of their own games, getting caught off guard. Phantom Hourglass has her rushing headlong into danger without backup. The Twilight Princess version surrendered to Zant, fearing for Hyrule's safety. And the Breath of the Wild version wasn't kidnapped at all, but is directly fighting against Ganon.

To add to that, the Spirit Tracks Zelda's _body_ gets kidnapped, while her spirit becomes Link's partner and helps Link throughout the game, and she is easily the most useful companion Link has had in any Zelda game. At the end of the game, it's her and Link _together_ that beat the final boss and plunge the sword into the villain's forehead.
I love when the Critic and the Nerd do episodes together.

I never got why the turtles were so big in this movie. They looked like Rocksteady and Beebop. In the cartoons they were shorter than April. They were between 4"9 and 5"2 which made more sense why it would take all 4 fighting at the same time to take down their biggest opponents. It also made sense how they could sneak around the sewers and go unnoticed being small. I think they might of been even smaller in the books, like between 3 and 4 ft.
Between this and the Xmen flicks, it's like being short is a no- no.
Hollywood refuses to hire any little people other than Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis, so they decided to go for taller. that being said even the live action movies had her height, which i definitely didnt mind, but yeah 6+ ft turtles is a bit overboard... which is expected, it's a Michael Bay movie.
I didn’t mind. At this point we’ve left the realm of realism entirely, we have a team of turtle Bros who walk on two legs and know martial arts from their rat sensei/dad.
@@BenDowdy If you're referring to Wolverine, it was a case of acting over appearance; I don't think anyone will argue that Hugh Jackman wasn't perfect for the role... in every way other than being a full foot taller than the character. They tried to make him seem smaller in the first film with different camera angles, but it really didn't work so they gave up.

Okay I call bs on the book crap. I’ve watched the shows and movies(except these for good reason) and plenty of things were changed but one thing that stayed pretty much the same was that Splinter already knew Ninjitsu before meeting the turtles. In the early series the reason is because he is Master Yoshi mutated into a rat, in the movies he learned ninjitsu from Master Yoshi. That part was essential to the how the turtles become Ninjas and Bay’s way around that is a freaking book?
That's the only flaw of the film

I they would've stayed with the source material, it would've made sense that Splinter knew Japanese (He was a pet of a Japanese Lord) & how Splinter knew Shredder (Shredder was an enemy of Splinter's Master).
Now that I think about it, the only time Splinter is the ninjitsu master and not the pet is in the 2012 and 2018 shows

True. Sonic and Pikachu are perfect examples of how to make animated characters look easy on the eyes in live action.
Because the people who were making the sonic movies were humble enough to take criticism, no matter how harsh. Michael Bay on the other hand has a huge ego so he wouldn’t even consider criticism in the first place.
This was before Hollywood realized that making an adaptation exactly like the source material made money
Actually, they should have a makeover after this. Since they got Sonic to look like the game version instead of an anorexic weasel, make the Ninja Turtles actually look like Ninja Turtles instead of shelled toads on steroids.

I'm not a fan of TMNT (don't hate it, I just didn't grow up with it), but I have to say I thought that one scene in the elevator was fun.
24:34 I'll agree with this, this WAS the best scene in the movie.
"Just a big giant toy commercial..." I suppose the same could be said of the Transformers, He-Man and She-Ra and the Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe, Ghost Busters, and so many other ideas and concepts that were popular with kids during the 1980's and 1990's. Heck, when figurines and action figures of video game characters finally came out, like Mario and Link figures... and then the Mega Man action figures based both on the silly cartoon and those closer to the actual concept art for the games - I wanted those too - even in my adult years! Funny, and yet this video is so true about growing up in the 80's and 90's with the cartoons, games, and toys... and then comparing new concepts of each to our memories of what we had growing up. Thank you for this entertaining, and yet somehow insightful, piece of commentary Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostalgia Critic! You guys are both awesome.
