Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an American animated television series produced by the studio Murakami-Wolf-Swenson and the French company IDDH. The pilot was shown during the week of December 28, 1987 in syndication as a five-part miniseries and the show began its official run on October 1, 1988.

My theory for how Hamato Yoshi got to New York from Japan without money is he had to immigrate to the US illegally due to being hunted by the Foot. Which would explain why he went directly to the sewers instead of any shelters and why couldn’t get a job because then he’d risk being found out and deported back to Japan.

This brought me back to my childhood. I had those VHS tapes. I had no idea the dad from Fresh Prince was that voice! This whole episode cracked me up..I hadn't seen it before so it was new to me. Now I can't get that theme song out of my head though..
15:05 - 15:44 made me laugh the most. I guess the Turtles, April and Splinter collectively agreed that so long as they made it out that building alive, that's all that mattered.
It's obvious that that building was still under construction. And I'm asuming April at that time was the only tenant. That was the writers' of this episode way of having her lose her place to live without involving any casualties.
I guess that Shredder wanted to take down the videos.

I was a kid at the comic book and sci-fi convention - let me just bask in the memories of when a $30 ticket got you everything at the convention! - when they announced the first comic of this was coming out and did the presentation. I still remember people saying it was never going to take off.
I love that Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird stated that the mutagen that splashed on Spinter and the Turtles in the sewer came from the accident that made Matt Murdock Daredevil!
This TMNT is still one of my favorite out of the entire Ninja Turtles franchise😁😁

Nahh...... what's really happening is that channel awesome need to keep uploading content on a regular basis in order to get money money money money money 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 CZcams will only let you advertise if you have a certain amount of content regularly uploaded and of course the money comes from the adverts that we all skip but those five seconds that we can't still pay. I think it's something really harsh like 10 minutes a day of content from single channel in order to be sustainable and eligible for advertising on your videos

You know, one thing that I've noticed that no one seems to talk about Baxter: The Mousers cause so much damage to catch rats that they'd be ineffective in pest control.
It’s almost like they were used for an ulterior motive in the comics.
I had those vhs tapes as a kid. One of my favorite lines was when one of the turtles asked if the nutrinos had guns one that hot rod, and one of them said of course, they are required by law.

After watching this I kind of hope you do the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series next, it's quite a step in a different direction from the more.. .comedic feel the OG series here had.

4:14 I don't think it works that way. At 3:12 you see splinter taking care of rats, so what the goo/chemical turned you into can't be based on what you were recently in contact with.
If I had to guess, its what you had the most contact with, the turtles were mostly around that kid at 3:24, and splinter was around rats a lot because he lived in the sewers, in New York, instead of a homeless shelter.
How does he feel about the 2003 series?

2) the most prominent episode in my memory from my childhood is the museum episode with all the snow. I even had the tapes as a child. I remember the all had the same Burger King ad before the episodes started. The BK kids or whatever. Do another commercials episode with that one in it

Varinia Turner 2012 TMNT was my favorite tho. U got a good TMNT to rock with.
Recently, I had a conversation with this woman who was in her early 40s who said that she used to watch this cartoon back when she was about 10 and 11 years old. She even had a crush on two of the voice actors Cam Clarke and Rob Paulsen and wrote fan letters to both of them at some point. Unfortunately, she never got responses back from either.
I was seven years old when this cartoon first started, and I enjoyed it like crazy back then. I haven't watched it in quite some time, but I still like the original three movies that followed.

Varinia Turner It’s pretty good. I don’t prefer it personally, but it’s better than whatever Nickelodeon did with them now.
I consider it third best, mainly because of how differently it looked from the '87 and '03 versions, it took me awhile to get used to the cg look if I'm being completely honest, but when I got used to it I enjoyed it. Anyway, who is your favorite version of the Shredder? Mine is definitely Utrom Shredder.

I remember getting somewhat nostalgic for this series a few months ago so I watched the first and last episodes of this series. Series finale left a lot to be desired.
Man I wore these VHS tapes out back then...I was probably 8-10 years old when this was out and I was a goddamn turtle maniac. To this day whenever someone says "cool" I am very likely to respond "Cool? Daddio, we are FROZEN!"

And this show came from a dark and gritty comic which was a parody of superheroes who were popular at the time. The Turtles origin was a parody of Daredevil's origin.
One thing that puzzled me is how they paid for 🍕
Is Splinter secretly rich? Do they take the money from the bad guys? Or does the owner knows them and give it to them free?
Plus, they had unusual tastes....which means the chef needs to make a special order, most of which is not normal ingredients...
You've got to admit, "Ninja Video Rental," comes the closest to sounding like a real thing. Seriously, it seems like a name for a video store of nothing but Kung Fu, Ninja, and other martial arts movies. I could easily see it also selling cheaply made katanas, sai, and shuriken in the back. :P
And since Splinter has been recently in contact with turtles he turns into...... a rat.
