- [For LumaFusion on Android and iOS] It’s the post-production effect invented in the early 20th century and one used in countless films, but do you understand how slow motion works in the edit?
In this week’s video from the LumaTouch Academy, Caroline explains the relationship between your video’s capture frame rate and the playback frame rate of your edit.
This series aims to teach you about editing in LumaFusion while having a lot of fun along the way. Leave a comment below on what you'd like to learn from our certified LumaFusion trainer, Caroline Scott.

Thank you and we'll keep the tutorials coming!
Ur energy is unmatched never change !! I just started in android trying to learn and get better in editing and ur videos helps a lot!
Happy to help and thanks for the comment!
Thank you for providing a great detailed explanation of slo-mo on LumaFusion can’t wait to try this on my next vacation
You're welcome and have fun.
Simple and well understood how-to video using LumaFusion. Great work!
Much appreciated!
Definitely underrated. You should have a million subscriptions.
Thanks, as allways very informative and complete.
You're welcome!
Thank you!
I was unsure if you could still slow down the clip after the "unnecessary" frames were taken out. This video covered that concern perfectly. Thank you. 🤗 Absolutely love LumaFusion.
Perfect explanation, very educational! 🍀🌼
Thank you! 🧠
Great video, thank you 👍😁✌️
You're welcome! 👍
Thanks for expanding my knowledge base. Is there a way to increase the incremental points. Sometimes while editing music videos it’s hard to sync up a beat. More incremental points to speed up or slow down a clip would be helpful. An example would be on our song “Hey Stevie” marker 2:27 where I’m syncing up the handclaps to the beat of our song. It’s pretty close but smaller increments would improve this sort of timing. I’ve been using LumaFusion for about a year. Thanks,
🎵💜 Dawn
Have you tried zooming in and going frame by frame? The increments are based on the amount of frames your video has. We're happy to have a closer look at a project if you contact lumatouch.co/support.
Thanks
Thanks for the tips¡
You're welcome!
Thanks 🙏🏻
You’re welcome 😊
hi, i have a mp4 video with two audio tracks. when importing to lumafusion only one audio track is displayed, how can i import the video with the two tracks to be sampled?
Check out this guide and scroll down to Multichannel Audio Tracks: lumatouch.clickhelp.co/articles/#!lumafusion-reference-guide-publication/audio-channel-configuration
Nice!
Thanks!
cant wait for speed ramp effect in luma :))
It's in development right now. Multicam Studio has been in the front for a while but once it's complete, we'll be shifting focus to some other features.
I shot a video on my iPhone 11, the video is good but there’s a green dot, a reflection because of the sun. If it was an image, I could have edited it in Snapseed, but since it’s a video, I would like to know if it can be removed using LumaFusion
That's not a feature LumaFusion currently has but we'll add a note to the customer request tracker.
There is a bug in your software. If you shoot in Canon Mp3 ALLi Clog3 slow-mo the clip sometimes pulses dark light. It also renders in the edit. I don't know what causes it as it sometimes doesn't do it then you go along and edit the rest of the video, then it starts doing it when you check later, playing back.
Sorry for the problem and we'd like to take a closer look. Please visit lumatouch.co/support and click the chat icon to get started.
One question please I bought lumafusion on my ipad pro, can I use the lumafusion on android or should I buy again on android, and thanks
LumaFusion for Android and ChromeOS from the Google Play Store is a separate purchase from iOS and the Apple Store, so it would be an additional purchase.
Hi, I’m a new user to LumaFusion, I’m really enjoying using it, but I have become frustrated by the hyper-laps setting, I use hyper-lapses a lot in my video’s, my previous editing app I was able to up to x100, I regularly went as much as 30x. Is there an efficient way to get more than x6 on multiple clips without having to save it to camera roll. Other than that annoyance great app, I’m still learning from so much from it as I use it and your videos.
Many thanks. Steve.
Thank you for your feedback on this. We are looking at ways we can implement faster speeds--in spite of it seeming simple, it's really quite complex to create this effect. Until we crack it, the render-and-reimport round trip will be your best bet.
@@LumaTouch I appreciate the reply, good luck with finding a way to do this I really hope you guys succeed, as I’m liking the app the more I use it. Kind regards.
Steve.
Hi Sir
I'm about to Purchase Lumafusion Android but before I purchase can you please tell me if Luma Android can Export our Video in 60fps , 120 fps . Above 60fps. Because every tutorial video i saw on CZcams about Luma, I saw them Only Exporting in 30fps. I do a Lot of GoPro Video edits in Slow Motion so There's no way i Record in 60,120 fps and Export in 30 fps.
You sure can. Here's the bit on this from our User Guide: lumatouch.clickhelp.co/articles/#!lumafusion-reference-guide-for-android-publication/setting-and-changing-the-frame-rate
Can you do a tutorial on speed ramping?
Maybe but we may wait for our own speed ramping feature to release and explore your options with that.
@@LumaTouch ❤️
Great but when I do this the audio portion of the clip gets distorted. Is there a way to fix that?
Hi there, and thank you for the note. If you want to keep the original audio on a clip you are speeding up or slowing down, select the clip prior to changing the speed, then triple-tap it on the Timeline to extract the audio--it will pop onto an audio-only track. Then you can retime the video portion of the clip. You can also tick the box to 'maintain audio pitch' when retiming clips, in the Speed Editor. Hope that helps. Happy editing!
@@LumaTouch thank you for that!
Hello, Does lumafusion do noise reduction?
Not yet but it's something we have on the request tracker. We'll add a tally for your request.
Just a suggestion, it would help me out a lot if you could add in text templates such as, texting templates, social media text templates, etc
Thanks for the feedback. LumaFusion has some title templates included and we'd like to add more in the future, like you're saying. If you have some specific templates you'd love to see, please visit lumatouch.co/support and let us know.
On android changing speed with leads to distortion in audio. Need more stable version which atleast can do basic stuff.
Changing speed should always distort the audio but we're happy to take a closer look. Please visit lumatouch.co/support to contact a LumaFusion expert.
I just got this app and it worked pretty good for a few recordings but now all videos I edit come out slow motion after 20s. Last video shows 1 min and 40s but it runs at 5 mins if you watch it ☠️
Hi there, thank you for the note. That can be frustrating, but it's an easy fix. Best to get ahold of our Support team: lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support' link). We'll get you squared away.
Please add optical flow option in slow motion
We'll be looking into that as part of our speed ramping feature, that's currently in development.

👏👏
Thanks!
Молодец 👍
Спасибо!
Any rumours when the 4.0 version is coming out 🎉?
No rumors that we've heard.
@@LumaTouch Check out this time in the video version is 4.00.2696 🧐 3:10
A quand un speed ramp dans LumaFusion?😊
Nous y travaillons en ce moment, nous n'avons tout simplement pas encore de date de sortie. Multicam Studio prend beaucoup de temps mais il approche de la ligne d'arrivée.
Ok my head exploded so I'm taking a brake and I'll be back later . 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Lol
Mikey
See you later! 🤣
Color🎨 grading more future🔮 add
We've got that on the wishlist and we're adding a tally for you now.
Gimmie a proper speed ramping f curve!
It's in the works. 👍
🤣
😅
🙄
🙂
Why take 240fps, take 24 fps and show how slowmotion will work on that. There is history and geography of slow motion in this video. And to demonstrate it, 240fps clip is taken purposefully so that there is no need to explain why Optical Flow is missing in this software. I dont know why such videos are made at all. It adds no value. Whole the world is not shooting 240fps.
Thanks for the feedback.
