  • i hope you enjoy this video. This is my thirty second "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow CZcamsrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic CZcams skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.

    The AEC Mammoth is based on the one that the Afrika Corps captured then used. It was later recaptured by the British and returned to service - !

      Hello there Simon, yep there is a video in my library for the AEC Mammoth, The blurb discusses the capture and subsequent use by the Afrika Korps.

    Very nice model and a bonus cacti and MP40 . Air weapon easier to say 😂😂

    Andy, that's quite a detailed kit, even the cactus , I backed into one of those as a lad , not a fun experience . I might have to cross over to a kit like this to raise my skill level on detailing. Models these days are getting very detailed, even aircraft and you're at the bench longer than usual .. That dioroma is going to be awesome. Stay safe at work and we'll see you when you get back, Cheers, your mate in the colonies. Bob

      Hi Thunderpig, The Diorama is kind of the aim of the game, will be a hole load of new skills and adventures to learn, obviously i will have to clean about a ton of junk out of the garage first LOL.

    @Kitsnbits Před 4 měsíci +3

    That's going to be a fair size diarama with 5 vehicles on it,that will be alot of work,but I'm sure by time you start it you would of mastered the skills by then.

    • @TheNoviceModeller
      @TheNoviceModeller  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi kitsnbits, luckily all the vehicles are quite close together in the box art, i was initially thinking roughly kingsize bed size, though lets be honest here this is a future plan, building the models is one thing, building a diorama base on that scale is a whole other adventure with a whole set of new skills to learn; something to aim for!

      @NoviceModelling with diaramas just use your imagination, the key is to make it interesting, not copy other people, I'm sure you will get it the way you want to.

      Yep i totally agree, i think the box art will be the basis, my preference in my mind is to probably adapt it as a more static observation, (the box art seems to represent a quick stop) probably with the AEC's sun awning out and a kind of conference situation going on with a few officers.

    Super Coool!! I have the Kfz 12 version. But would like to pick this one up later as well. Edit: I also wanted to say the newer version of the Tamiya sdkfz 222 comes with etched parts and Motorcycle and rider "North Afrika". I have two, and the Sdkfz 232... they are great kits. Strangely, they have a vehicle with Luftwaffe plates, but the men are in Heer Uniforms. (Regular Army) you can tell by the lapel insignia, and the Luftwaffe Eagle is completely different.

      You can always get decals to make a Luftwaffe correct uniform. :) Cheers and happy modeling!!

      Hello there Juergen and thanks for watching, I have another one of these by a different manufacturer that i will be reviewing in a few days, i also have the 222 with the motorbike and rider to do at some point as well, thanks for the info on the uniforms, really couldn't get Luftwaffe out of my mouth yesterday, no idea where "Wuftlaffe" came from FML.

      @@TheNoviceModeller Excellent video. I had to get some decals for my figures. The color patches are so difficult to replicate right. Shoulder boards are not too bad, but I am novice when it comes to figures. Looking forward to more of your videos.

      Hello again Juergen, i have some photo etch (eduard?) and some Tamiya decal sheets for shoulder boards and badges etc. Like i said in the video this is a plan for the future, i need to improve my skills before having a go at it, looking forward to the challenge though. Thanks for the compliment, looking forward to spreading a bit more chaos, anarchy and occasionally a bit of thought provoking philosophy LOL on my bizarre little channel. Hope to see you again on the comment board.
      be seeing you
      Andy.
