- APOLOGIES FOR THE LIGHTING FLICKER, I HAVE A FEW ISSUES WITH MY LIGHTING SET UP THAT ONLY BECOMES APPARENT WHEN I REVIEW MY VIDEOS ON COMPLETION, WILL BE SORTED ASAP.
I hope you enjoy this video. This is my thirty first "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow CZcamsrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic CZcams skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.

Top kit - you cannot go wrong with Tamiya German vehicles.
Hello there @Claymore5 and thanks for watching; couldn't agree more, always well engineered and instructions are easy to follow.
Diorama sounds good 😎,can't go wrong with Tamiya, This is 2009 kit from 70s original . Tamiya, German armour welljell 😭
Hello there Steve, so now you know "the plan" LOL.
Hi Andy. This is a good kit, there is no texture on this vehicle as they were made from thin armour plate. Its scary to think that they were only rated for protection from small arms fire. The vertical stanchions for the airial were made from wood for isolation purposes. The crewman with th Beret is correct, it was part of the crews uniform pre-war. There are pictures of the vehicle Sydyizt out there during the Balkens campaign. It was very dusty.I,ve done two versions of this kit, one early and one late. So Panzer grey with frame airial and the late one in tri-tonal colours with a star airial. Oh by the way you might want to think about how big that diorama will be in that scale with that many vehicles on it. Thats why I model in small scale. Good luck, I look forward to seeing it finished.
Hello again Brian, thats some interesting info, i did wonder about that beret, similar to the British beret worn by tank crew members and adopted by Monty on his arrival in the Desert.
@@TheNoviceModeller this beret was dropped after campaign in France because was useless in vehicles interiors. Also wearing headphones with it was problematic. It has been replaced with field cap M.40 and later M.43. I still wonder why Germans didn't come with design of more practical head protection for armoured troops like, for example Russians did.
Nice kit you will find that tamiya do lack a bit of detail, but good kits never the less, and you will find the year of the kit,on the side of the box and maybe in side of the Hull the copyright.
Thanks kitsnbits, got a whole load more of these "whats in the boxes" to do, hope you find some of them interesting. be seeing you.
This is a great kit😮😂😂goes back to 70z❤❤❤
this was the lask kit i built as a teen in the mid 80s
It looks like a really nice kit, quite looking forward to having a go at it in ermmmm a few months LOL
Hello there Jon, and thanks for watching. It is a nice looking kit this one, have a fair few more in my stash that i shall be reviewing in the next few week, hope you have time to watch. be seeing you, andy.
Hi Andy their is plenty of info on the web for detailing but not one for a quick build but great fun stlll
Hello again Chris. Thanks i will indeed have a look though i do have AK's "AFRIKA 1941-1943 DAK Profile Guide" which is a really interesting visual guide.
It looks to be an Sdkfz 263 in the background of that afv club mammoth boxing. It should be a nice kit to put together though and i'm sure will look great as part of that diorama!
Hello there and thanks for watching. Thanks for that, just googled sdkfz 263 and i think you are bang on with your I.D, i did wonder about the shape of the turret, personally i think it's actually far less attractive than my 232 so reckon i'll be sticking with it, when i finally get rounding to putting it all together in a few months that is LOL.
Say that name " five five times fast" :-) The German language makes pronouncing all the armour so difficult. Great idea to buy kits ahead of time I do the same because if you don't by them until time you get ready to build the kits are gone. I seem to buy more kits than I build. I've recently been buying small kits like your Spits off eBay to text the water on pricing and shipping and so far experience are doing well. Just think, when you start to build that diorama you also need to plan the comparison of brews to sprues to build. Cheers Bob
LOL Thunderpig, couldn't get Luftwaffe out of my mouth in todays vid, kept on trying to say "wuftlaffe" what a numpty .
