I hope you enjoy this video. This is my 102nd "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow CZcamsrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic CZcams skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.
Follow me on my novice modelling journey whilst I try desperately to overcome my midlife crisis. Questions and suggestions always welcome. Please like and subscribe and follow me on my ride!

Hi Andy, thanks a lot for this review. I try to catch up (like&comment) on your videos but with so many excellent ones coming so often I struggle to keep up, excellent content creation work, makes me think your choice of fıregoing editing has paid off.
I had bought several zvezdas, all ships, back in the day. For large models their prices were good. With the current political turmoil, in my haul video I tried to be diplomatic, reviewing a zvezda together with a roden from Ukraine. I was lucky I had both in the same batch.

Hi @fotograf736, i am experimenting with scheduling and making a few vids in advance and trying and release one almost every day. Regarding editing i still intend to have a go at that but i think it will be kit building vids, these shorts vid dont really think need it and would massively increase production times which would be a bit of a problem for me, all of what i do is unscripted and 90% is one take and done. This kit and my opinions jeez what a hot potato this has turned out to be.

Hey Andy, I've never seen a " Russkies" kit, looks pretty good. I can't imagine the Russians being allowed to have a hobby and actually having hobby shops and kit manufacturers . Very capitalistic of them :-) Anxious to see how it builds out. Cheers Bob.

I built a different variant of that kit with an MG mounted on the sidecar. Assembly of all the small parts was a little bit fiddly, but it came together very nicely. The figures are decent and it's nice that they give you a couple different options on how to assemble them.

I wouldn’t worry about where a kit comes from it’s a manufacturer not from a government and as you stated they happen to be the only maker of the model that interest you. Enjoy the model my opinion only.

Hi Andy. An interesting model. Typical of the Russians at the time, stick the biggest gun you can on the smallest vehicle you have. I am suprised that you don,t recognise some of those parts as you are interested in motorcycles. I don,t know if you have had a bike or not. Any way the kit it self looks ok. A bit of work with the edge of a blade will sort out the flash. I think that I would build the bike completley and then paint it. I,m not sure if you can keep the wheels loose so you can spin them slowly to paint the tyres. Overall Zvesda are not a bad kitmaker , they make some interesting kits. As for the Japanese one WOW, you paid through the nose on that one. But its what you want and thats good enough. I did the same thing years ago when I bought a diecast crane, 60 quid. I thought bargain, and then I got hit by a import tax that was nearly the same amount again. So I look forward to seeing it. I bet it will be tiny. Anyway good video. Oh yeah. Don,t forget copper wire for the cables my friend. Good luck buddy.

I'm not particularly interested in motorcycles, i just thought they are an interesting kit that for me poses some interesting problems with construction and painting because they seem very fiddly.Yes well what can i say i may have been a little over enthusiastic when i purchased that Pit road kit, i am not blaming the bottle of wine but it may have influenced my decision LOL. Maybe i will have a go of the copper wire technique, we'll see.

Hey don,t worry about that Japanese bike kit. We have all bought things that were a bit to expensive. Don,t even get me started on the cost of some of the model railway stuff that I have bought. You may notice that that bike looks a lot like a BMW which is what the design started as (an early BMW) and then the Russians cribbed it. The Germans by this time were using an upgraded version. Tamiya 35316 BSA M 20 motorcycle, Bronco 35035 Triumph 3Hw Motorcycle,

@@TheNoviceModeller lol, the Starfix 1/48 kits are legendary for their awfulness..... don't ask me how I know, I'm too embarrassed to say.
It was a while ago that I built the Zvezda 1/35 Panzergrenadiers but I still have them.
Try to imagine Frankenstein's monster in German uniform and you'll get the idea. Their body proportions are just wrong and the faces were designed by some poor sod that had taken way too many hallucinogenic drugs in his youth.
To be fair the parts didn't look too bad on the sprue, its when the assembly is finished that the true horror appears. The one thing that sticks out in my mind even more than their ears about the construction was having to scalpel off their ears so that their helmets would fit.
So if you like to build truly awful kits I would recommend anything by Starfix in 1/48 (preferably Spitfire) and the Zvezda 1/35 Panzergrenadiers. Good luck!
