  • In this video I assemble Italeri's 28mm / 1:56 scale plastic German Tiger miniature.
This is a pretty good kit which is the same as Warlord's Bolt Action branded Tiger at a lower price.
I compare this model with Rubicon's Tiger model, which costs a little more but is a good kit too, with a few more options and parts.
So if you're looking for a Tiger with which to crush your enemies there's a few good options.

The provision of a zimmeritt coating on separately affixed panels is something i've not seen before, and looks ok for the scale of the model.

    *Italeri wins big time:*
    >Zimmerit looks realistic for the late Panzer hulls, and the thin grills aren't that bad.
    >Tracks and wheel details look amazing. Even the cables on the deck are detailed.
Granted, no tracks on the front is a shame, but the floppy gun - there's this thing called putty; it helps make flexible parts more rigid without having to glue them...
Anyway, good video. It helped me decide which one to buy.
edit: just checked Warlord's site, there's a Tiger version without zimmerit, it's called "Early Production Tiger I ausf H"

I think the Warlord tiger you're talking about is resin, which is fine, though their plastic tanks are much better.

The Warlord & Italeri's Tiger I kits are exactly the same Kit... I have the Warlord kit!

nice video I had the same problem with the tracks separating from the wheels when gluing them and the vent flash is pretty visible. Still a decent kit in my opinion

I agree. I guess just about every kit has its little quirks. None will be perfect, some are just better than others and this is one of the better ones I think.

Herbert Erpaderp yeah once the glue dried I had forgotten about it and I was impressed by the quality of the overall kit

The odd angle of the gun you had to choose for not having a big gap is a real dealbreaker. And the vents on the engine deck look like they were moulded upside down. What's on the inside sould be on the outside. Another dealbreaker to me. But luckily I could see it while watching your excellent video.

In one of your videos could you compare the size of the model with say, one of the bolt action infantry figures ... I've found the bolt-action vehicles to be on a much smaller scale than the vehicles, even though they say it's meant to be 1/56th / 28mm. And I'm looking for a good scale that fits. I did buy an Italeri Puma not so long ago (But I don't think it was warlord) which was pretty close, but I'd like to see some comparisons. ... Cheer's and love the videos ;)

The thing you called a track tension tool is a C-Hook, it's used to connect tow cables to the clevis. Also for what it's worth neither kit has accurate tracks and these cost way too much. You could get a 35th scale Dragon Tiger for that money.

A 35th scale Tiger. Perfect for those games using 56th scale models...

1/56 is the scale for Bolt Action?
