I hope you enjoy this video. This is my one hundred and twelfth "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow CZcamsrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic CZcams skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.

Cracking looking kit Andy! I love these old 70's/80's tamiya kits. I think they still hold their own today against more modern kits. Lovely detail, no flash and easy to follow , sensible and clear instructions. Great subject's too. Will make a lovely model. Another good buy there mate, well done! 👌👍👊
Hi bobby you are right, there doesn't appear anything wrong with this kit apart from the figures are a bit naff when compared to the modern Masterbox additions, why oh why Tamiya hasn't re-released this kit is a mystery?

Hi Andy, I completely agree that Tamiya should reissue this kit, They missed a trick when the 'Rogue Heroes' series was on television, I wanted one but could only find the SAS Jeep kit and I am unwilling to pay silly ebay prices. Great review, thanks.

Yes Tamiya should indeed re-release this, you'd think some head office number cruncher would've spotted the silly ebay prices and gone "ah ha" I have seen them in the "sold item" section on Ebay going for £35-£40 but i think you have to be watching like a hawk to pick them up.
Andy, gooD looking kit with lots of detail in the figures and especially cargo " stuff ". I still haven't mastered figures very well from my past days. You could make a dioroma just with this kit. Cheers Bob
And i have yet to try any 1/35 figures........There are loads of stowage after market resin parts for this kit and a bunch more resin figures, some very talented builders have done diorama's with this kit, i will have to up may game by several levels........ at some point.

hello again @furryfriendification, i understand it is a rather vast and confusing place! and these are rather hard to get hold of and have a rather ludicrous price tag, no bartering on these, just pay the money and add to stash.

Hi Andy. Thats a very nice kit. I have seen this model many times at shows and I know that it is quite an involved kit. You will have your work cut out for this one. Also being an opened topped vehicle means that you will have to load up the cargo bed. I have never built the old Chevvy but I hope to get one in the future in 72nd scale. I know you like your war films so if you want some good reference material look for an old British war film called 'Sea of Sand'. Its a good film too. Good luck buddy.
Hi brian i think this is a very popular kit, and would be even more popular if Tamiya re-released it, i think it becomes very involved when you start looking at the huge variety of after market add on's that are available, like you said "load up the cargo bed". not heard of "sea of sand' will have a mooch round for it.

Hi steve, i would love to start building this tomorrow, alas patience, indeed is annoying when products get deleted.
However, one guaranteed way to get a re-release is to find one second hand and pay top dollar for it.
Meaning they will probably re-release next month? LOL.

hello there @philipshaw5715 and thanks for watching. I have been chasing one of these for a while now, unfortunately as a novice with a small mountain of kits to get through it will be a while, though this is one that is very high up my list of "things to do" when my skills are a bit better.
