- FMS has released a 1/10 scale Toyota FJ40 and it's big, detailed and looks excellent... but let's make it better. With new tires, wheels, and a few scale accessories, an upgraded FJ40 not only looks better, but crawls better too.

This truck looks so nice. The servo for the steering wheel is really nice to have out of the box if you want to have a driver in your truck. I can't believe it has a full interior and all the doors open for a rtr. This is so detailed. I love it!!

lol, the chassis maybe 1/10 but the body looks about 1/7 or 1/6.
Yep, big bore shocks and heavy weight shock oil will get rid of the wobbles and help it crawl like a TRX4. Changed the servo to a RAW 500, upgraded the esc to a Hobbywing 1080, added a new receiver with 8 channels instead of 4. New Mytrickrc headlights, tail lights, light bars and flood/rock lights, lastly I swapped out the black plastic wheels for some gorgeous Injora brushed aluminum with a chrome hub cap.

You can flip the hood latches making them functional.
It's much better with the leaf spring kit on it. It's smooth with very little bounce with the leaf spring kit. Yall should install it on yours and do another upgrade update video.
Upgrade the shocks to a better big bore 65mm shock. Works like a charm

Do u think 70mm yeah racing big bore could fit plug n play? Because i couldnt find the 65mm in my country..
they make some really cool models but i just cant seem to pull the trigger on one of these yet but its coming💲

Lucky u guys who lives in the US, BRITT n all , here in this part of the world were i live UAE all most all the rigs which we can get hands on are close to double the price what you wonderfull people have to pay retail and if thinking of shipping all the awesome brands wont ship it to here as they have dealers here - but with very limitted stock and somehow we manage to find a way to ship it - better i take a # ✈️ticket hand carry it myself back here .. cheers happy RC days🎉🎉

If you only do one mod, get some 65mm big bore shocks, Amain carries them. It's like having a new truck and turns it into a crawler that can do some real lines.

how does this compare with the "6th" scale jimny from them? they seem very similar even though one is "6th" and one is "10th"
Very nice for the price. Nice old school look, detailed interior, decent quality, and comes with proper tires. It's no Camel Trophy truck though. The one from D1RC is my ultimate. 3x what this costs too.

Only flaw I can see is that you'll drench the radio if you use the nice carry case and have a wet car. FMS going into 1/10 is a massive win otherwise!
I really like the boxes that come with most of the FMS trucks. The only bad thing is that as soon as you upgrade them, they don't fit in that box anymore 😢

@Mckhus Yea, it's not quite the same with the tires sticking an inch out on either side of the box..
I use my box to haul my 24 and 18 scale rigs. !!!
I was thinking the same thing, if only the boxes had enough meat to really carve out some extra room
Put a rear axel housing in your spare box,the only part we break.
Zap strap some lead weights under the carriage, (half-lb) it will look totally real!!

If you guys really wanted to do a worthwhile video about these trucks, and their part compatible siblings. You would have shown putting some shock mounts and better shocks on it. These vehicles use shorty little shocks and there isn't a lot out there that's useful without fabbing up some sort of mounting system. These trucks as well as the Mashigan and Atlas really need it.
The chief complaints are the Shocks, wheels/tires, and ESC.
Rather bouncy, would be interested to see it with some damper’s fitted
My only question is what's the best battery to get with it?

You could probably find some basic velcro straps at your local hardware store or dollar store for cheaper.

Is the body painted or is it just blue plastic
Shoot, I think it's painted but I may be wrong. We don't have the truck anymore to double check for you.
For the Fusion setup, I think it would fit, although space is tight.
For the extended wheelbase, I'd imagine so but you might need longer suspension links and front-center driveshafts.
For fitting other hard bodies, it would require some custom work, but I imagine it could be done.
When there's a will, there's a way!

Bro....so cool for it not to have a driver. I don't know why. I don't know why whoever is in charge of building these hasn't thought about the driver. Or black-out the windows....i think the driver is best
not good, the 2 wheels at the back keep hitting the body, poorly designed
