You folks are living the life & enjoying things and making memories! Nothing better than a husband / wife team! Emily your an all around amazing lady with a sincere bubbly personality who is knowledgeable willing to learn more and not afraid of getting down and dirty. Arron is a fine mechanic with a methodical approach. Love these videos! ❤️
It is so awesome that you guys have your niece help you! Alaia is only 8 but probably has helped with more engine builds than most of us commenting!
I was just laughing at the thought of some pimply-faced high school kid trying to impress her with his "hot" little econo-box and she straightens him out when she tells him about when she and her Auntie built a blown V8 for her Auntie's Goat and took it to the drags!! That little girl is gonna be soooo far past those boys in high school, they won't know what happened! ;^)
Nothing more fun and exciting ! Building. a motor the right way !! for your baby ! Fun times ahead !
Was just thinking of a 12 Month Calendar Emily could create when using engine build tools. Remember the ol Snap-On Calendar days. What a great idea for raising extra funds.
With the calendar idea,Roxy should be on the cover of the first issue, then find a good place for Betty within, along with Garfield etc.
Your niece is a great helper. I look forward to the episode seven years from now when the three of you start building her car! Can’t imagine what it will be!!! Keep wrenching!
So great to involve the younger family members in a build when you can, really gives them a sense of belonging. Especially when all together at an event and they can speak to this or that and their participation... even years down the road ! Look forward to more and hope some great days for you all !
I put together a 250 inline 6 cylinder for a 100 dollar 1970 GMC Handy van Wow I wish I had seen this video first ,only got about 2000 miles before it started knocking but it had awesome compression . First time I drove it thru town, I remember taking off from a light shifting into second and the next light changing red letting off the gas and squealing tires on deceleration.I didn't plastigauge the crank bearings or I would still be driving it today. This all happened back in the mid 80's, loved that old stub nosed van. Love your channel !
Where can i find a woman like Emily , who luves her cars as much as her bloke , you're a lucky man Arron ..Bob in Ozz
Love that 280Z in the background. One of my favorite cars on my bucket list. 👍
Emily crawling into the box made me laugh out loud. Good to see Alaia there to help. Every time a child gets the opportunity to learn something valuable is a good thing. Take care.
Engines are WAY more forgiving than what some/most people portray. Just put them together like you'd bake a cake - follow the directions as best you can...chances are you'll be just fine.
Instant like when any 8yo is helping! Good job!
Emily, you are SO FUNNY!!!!!! I can't imagine any other woman crawling in a supercharger box!!!THAT IS JUST TOO CUTE- You are really 1 in a million, love the videos, enjoy the supercharger!!!!! Bob H.
Nothing better than cuddling up with a good supercharger!! Lol. Not to take anything away from any of the other content on this channel.. but you guys just get better and better!! Keep up the great work!
Good morning flying Sparks garage Emily and Aaron both of you make me laugh I think you guys are wonderful people that I watch on CZcams I like all the cars you have and the big boat my name is Paul Burns from Bensalem Pennsylvania
I love to see young people getting involved with shop work etc. And Alaia does such a great job for her age, I am proud of her.
I agree.its awesome to see when they genuinely enjoy getting their hands dirty!!!
Flying Sparks Garage is without a doubt the BEST CHANNEL on CZcams.
It's a cold rainy day here in So. Cal, so I'm bingeing your build on Roxy GTO leading up to HRDW. Waiting for Drag Week day 4 to drop.
Totally awesome to see you teaching real life skills to a young person. Her excitement and joy was palpable.
This lucky man's wife does great box.
Emily and Arron looked 2 kids opening presents Christmas morning. LOL
Alaia is such an awesome young Lady. Brings a smile to my face :)
Thanks for sharing with us and I'm so glad I found your channel you guys are Great 💯👍 from Alabama 🇺🇸👍
I learned to use type F transmission fluid to both clean the cylinders before assembly when I worked for Kip Martin ( an lifelong drag racer who has now passed ). It seems to float any grit from honing out and is also used to lube the piston skirts, rings, and cylinders for assembly. That seems to provide an instant break in or moly rings.
Alaia is a natural!
omgosh.. Aaron is stumped "this ...thingy." LMAO. I never thought I would see him not know something.
Great content once again can't wait to see the next one. Great job teaching the kid to learn the in's and out's of building an engine.
"You better not get any bread crumbs in there." HA! That is exactly what I would be telling my 8 year old if she were lubing rod bearings with her bare hands. It's so great that she is learning so many valuable skills and having a good time doing it. Can't wait to see how the build turns out, and I'm really curious to see what Roxy puts down at the rear wheels with the blower.
Nothing like watching my favorite garage, sipping on some apple pie shine and the wind howling outside with the temperature falling into the 20's.....A perfect East Texas night!! Another great video y'all!! 👍👍
Long Tall Texan Ahhh, that sounds LOVELY!!! So happy you liked it!
@@flyingsparksgarage Cheers!!! Y'all have a safe trip back to Texas.
She needs her own catch phrase and merc line....you and hubby doing a great job on Roxy....cannot wait to her that supercharger spin up....
Very entertaining, especially your niece, great job, and thank you for sharing.
So glad she is in the garage helping out!
Cant wait to hear that bad boy's first start up. Be safe. Peace.
Quick! Another episode!
Love what you all do. Ty for entertaining😁
" Nice babe" she says AS she shakes her head no. Lmao. Love to see you two working on your stuff ( going at it). Go Roxy!
That cute comment when she was trying to get the cap off the water reservoir... She hands it to Aaron and he just cranks it right off and makes some comment about his "Man Power" allowing him to twist it right off. Em's reply, "I don't have any "Man Power." (She bats those eye lashes about this point...)
I certainly beg to differ my dear! All that sweet innocent little blonde needs to get all the "Man Power" she requires is just a wee bit of smile, and a wee bit of twinkly eye, and a wee bit of "Honey.... " Guess what; all the "Man Power" in the room is ready to do just about anything she wants!!! ;^)
My wife and I have been together nearly 40 years and that crap still works!!! It ain't fair; I can't make that work. ;^)
There is a lot of love in this garage!
She may be our future!
Love it!
I just love watching you guy..
just can't say it enough.
Great job young lady, next master engine builder on the block,
Teaching the kids what they won't get out of any school anymore...FANTASTIC!!! Love your vids guys!
Way to teach the next generation of gearheads!
Awsome how you had the time to include your child in the build God Bless
savyourself freedom Our niece loves it 🙂
Can't wait to hear it wine !
Finley is the best shop dog.
When your Mrs says.. "Lube it up"... and you have to remind yourself you are building a motor...!
In I think the last episode Aaron said "I dont know if ring openings matter" or something along that lines.. everyone builds engines with rings away from each other but the honing pattern in the cylinder walls rotate them. I think the initial start with rings separated is important because it keeps compression during initial starts so the rings seat..but after it runs awhile a proper non stuck ring spins around at the will of the cylinder walls.....at least in the theory I've heard 😂
Only one word come to mind @4:39....FREAKY!!
Emily you wore that engine slick out. Emily has the Lead Foot! I can see her now on her way to work Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh no mercy. LOL =)
Foxy Roxy will have the Heart of a Lion! And I can't wait to hear her Roar!!!! =) Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Thank you for the education and awesome content.
Pretty neat family build. 😉👍
Love to see the little ones get involved. I wish I started when I was young. Great episode!!
What can I say, I love this couple. Get it.
nice to see everything looking clean. and healthy
I love it. She says yes to EVERYTHING and actually wants to do stuff. I got a "nephew" twice her age and the kid won't do anything if it doesn't involve an xbox and a bag of doritos.
Show him a wankel rotor? hahaha
Checking the ring gap is critical and often overlooked. Remember to use those rings on the pistons going on the piston in the bore you measured them in.
Emily: "I can't believe it's mine" Aaron: " Ours, we're married" 😁
Love her curls
Nice work in training the next generation 👍
I just watched Christmas morning. Love yall
Hey Aron the best lube for the cylinder walls & the pistons is WD-40!! Your rings will break in much much better then if you use oil!! & I have always used WD-40 & it has worked every time for me!! Oil has a tendency to glaze the cylinder walls witch then takes the rings much much longer to be seated in correctly!! You should call your ring manufacturer & see what they sagest to use & let everyone no!! I do no that the worlds largest ring manufacturer will tell you to use only WD-40!! Just thought I’d give you a heads up!!
Won't the cylinder walls be splashed with oil immediately on start up anyway?
I kind a thought installing a supercharger would be fun, but you and Aaron have bumped that up to a new level. Enjoy and make loads a power!
I don't miss my GTO so much since buying the V but damn I miss that cogged 2300 wine! I was making 630 RWHP on stock bottom end at 11 psi with the stroker you should be able to boost it to the max.
awesome video as always.thanks for shearing with us vuys.
Great work. No one daily drives their Monaro here in Adelaide (city where they were built). Only come out for a Sunday drive. I'm stoked you daily it.
She had me at stroker
It's fun to watch you guys learn ! Ring end gaps also are determined by pressure and temp ! Oil gap should should between 1.5 and 2
Hi guys, I've got Roxys grandma, a 2000 gen3 Holden Caprice, B2's done 190600 miles (305000 ks) and still tight and beautiful! Look after Roxy and she'll look after you! Love the channel

Hope the blower fits under the bonnet emily .got a blower on my 2015 fgx xr8 ford falcon with factory bonnet hump in it
really good job.....
At 4:41 Finley's like " HEY ! That's my job ! To crawl in, inspecting boxes and packaging ! At least, let me in there too... and sure enough, you did "
That little girl steals my heart each time I see her. Does she still have the pink mechanics gloves? #goaleia !!
Loving that Z car!
I want to see that C10 on the channel more!!
Yippee My favorite channel.
Y'all s niece is cute a as a bug and a good helper.
Hope y'all got those rod caps on the right direction, depending on the rod manufacturer and design some rod caps are snapped off and only go back on one way !!
Dam i just die everything i hear your accent.. You guys do great work also. I love your videos. Americans are so cool 😎
3:40 Love me some GMT800 Silverado.... Just wish i had time and money (and a garage) to freshen up the engine in my 06 reg cab short bed (would like to do a rebuild and basic stage 1 or 2 cam since it is daily driver).
(3:00) Shop dawg's gettin' wuv rubbiez!! :P
GET A TIRE SPONSOR!!! You are going to need a lot of them. Roxy is going to go through tires now.
You got me thinking of DatZen when you brought that up. I talked with a guy a few years ago when I was collecting 240Z's. He had a 280 with a "John's Cars" conversion that used a Ford 409. I had to laugh when he showed pictures of that ZCar with about 12" of air beneath the front tires at the drag strip. He had a big grin on when he said, "Yes, my uncle DOES own a tire shop!!" ;^)
(By the way, "John's Cars" in Dallas, Texas, does a phenomenal job with their conversion kits. I used one to put a TransAm small block into a Jag XJ6 after it blew a head gasket. It worked perfectly!!! The smog referee that certified the car (in CA) said it looked like a factory job. That made me feel good!)
Dr.D here in it is fn cold Regina Canada,I found out the hard way that some paper towels leave microscopic threads or hair like corruption and can mess up the pick up of the oil pump clog it up,one suggestion was to use drip filter coffee filters to wipe down cylinders and apply oil to pistons, he was a vw teck and worked on w8 motors have you a opinion on this. ps. not a real doctor.
I all ways blow out the holds in the crank shaft this is where shaving hide !!
