The tech segment is a great idea. David Frieburger tends to rip through some things on engine masters just so they can get to the good bits. Cam's can be especially complicated to understand, lift, duration, lobe separation, intake, exhaust lift height depending on the deck height..so much to learn. Would be cool to have some basic tech gems for putz's like me. Keep up the great work.. Much love from downunder New Zealand.

I have been building engines for over 25 years an the only thing I use a torque wrench on is the Heads, Main Caps, Rod Caps that is all and never has anything fell off or been torqued to tight. I have leaned what to tighten the bolts down to by their size and never snapped a bolt and never left a bolt too loose.
I don't understand 1/4 of what you guys do, but I enjoy it so much!
They make a metal bracket that clamps on the oil pickup tube to screw to the other bolt hole on the block to give equal clamping force with 2 bolts.

This my favorite channel to watch by far. Your doing what the rest of are doing and your not leaving out the little hiccups that happen to us all. It makes your vids real because they are. I'm concerned about someone else editing. Like when Aaron kicked Emily on her butt and then was repeated 6 or 8 times. Or Aaron snugging up Finley. We love that stuff. Most of us have dogs that we love too! It's like we're a part of your family.

I honestly don't know how you guys can do better. You have all the bases covered and you hit the mark on every episode. Of course money makes pretty much everything better in some way but...short of buying a 1967 Pontiac Firebird and building it into a 1970's style Street Freak...I don't see how things could possibly improve any more. Great people. Great cars. You got the prerequisite sleeping dog for a shop mascot AND an apprentice shade tree mechanic working the engine hoist and slinging wrenches as needed. It's all there.

(Just my 2 cents) You don't want someone else editing your videos, editing styles are different & takes away from the awesomeness & feel of the channel (or so I've seen when others do this) that said, it's your channel so do what you want.

After , 1972 we came to grips with the fact that the gas crissis of the 70s was a con because the g to became bigger and still got the same gas milage , so we had the great GTO revolt / we all said " bah" that's Italian word for old goat . Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey Emily, the next time you install an "O" ring on an engine us some Moly-Cote 44 O-rlng grease. It will make the O-ring swell up, seal better and help keep it from becoming brittle. Just some old school wisdom from a 36 year wrench.

Serious question here: I notice you installed the oil pickup with just the single bolt fixing and plus the brace to the windage tray. I have been told that it is important to add a horseshoe-type additional brace round the pickup fixing that uses TWO bolts and to use loctite on the bolts. I've just assembled my LS with the single bolt oil pickup and windage tray bracket and like you without loctite. I've put it in the car so I'm not thrilled at the thought of having to take it all out and drop the oil pan to install the horseshoe brace and loctite the bolts. Mine is a basic 376 LS3 (in a 60 Bel Air) so I'm thinking that if you reckon the standard GM arrangement is OK on a blown 408 stroker maybe I should not bother with all that faff until overhaul time in a few years!

13:15 No flywheel or clutch ? Does the trans have to come up from the bottom ? Still easier to have the flywheel and clutch installed out in the open... no ?
TheCanadianBubba I install it later! My clutch hadn’t come back yet from being rebuilt! And yes, trans installs from the bottom just fine!
