Hey guys, luv your videos! I have been restoring old vehicles for about 50 years and have really over the years defined how the quality of my rebuilds has grown. Much, I attribute, is to simple things that make a big difference with little effort and minimal funds. One big thing is for the last 25 to 30 years, I complete a small project on the list of many, install new parts and then “prime” everything around it before finalizing it. Just saw this today. I went through that snow and ice storm in the Texas Hill Country last February. It was freaking cold by anyone's standards and that trip out to Aaron's parents' farm in the open Bronco was pretty burly of you, and on your birthday no less. Love watching your progress on the "BUGatti" and how you both work through all the hitches. Keep on being you!

Third. As an air cooled lad, move the fuel filter back by the gearbox/driveshaft - most common cause of fire on air cooled Volkswagens is the filters split and spewing fuel onto the heads/heat exchangers/exhaust generally all the hot stuff. Here in the UK a small company called EVA resto make a bracket that bolts to the gearbox to hold the filter there. 👍

synflex ( air brake ) tubing works great for oil gas and brake fluid ( not brake lines). fuel line on my old jet boat is 20 + years old. i also used it on my type 4 rails hydrauilc cluch
a crescent grip......i so need one.....ill bet that sucker rounds off bolts like a boss !!!!

Nice dusting of snow. The tractor must be a southern unit, the northern units have a glow plug for cold weather.
Thats exactly how I feel when wiring. Has to be the right color of wire. Ends must be soldered and have shrink tubing right length etc. Time consuming but worth it. Awe Garfield is so sweet with those wheels and that stance!
Welding, like anything else gets easier the more you do it :) that weld fits the motif of the car.
My best friend lives in McKinney Texas and he called me when you guys were getting snow he said that there was 2 ft. in his back yard and yes he lives in an all electric home.
It truly is a thing. And, inversely, sometimes the jobs you think are gonna be monumental turn out to be a breeze!
Oh, and 8 inches? Wow, I can't remember the last time we had that much here where I live in England!

Best flaring tool I've found is made by Ridgid - actually clamps the tubing hard enough to make double flares.

Copper tubing between something that vibrates (engine) relative to something else (body) tend to work harden and crack. Best to add about 2 turns of flex when you go back with the longer line.
Had a 60 bug, can't wait to see that on the road! I always thought they were pure fun to drive. Felt like a big go-cart.

My friend Martin and me, we build a Drag Race "Of Beetle" with a double Port Engine and Carbs on each side of the Motor. It looked like a Beachbug. I was 12 and he was 13 Years old..... 1977 it was possible to drive it in the local Fields, 'cause the Farmers were very Kind! Beeing hunted by the German Polizei😂😂😂 we were the faster Part of the Game. It is possible to replace the Oilpressure Clock with an elektrical Part. The Motor ist moving, the Chassis not. So the Line to the Gauge can break. But it is of curse more "old Stile" to fix it, like you've done it 👍 . Kind regards from Germany......the Home of the Bugs....🍀👍

Firstly; belated birthday greetings to Emily! That snow looks really amazing and I'm assuming that it's pretty rare to get it like that and have such low temperatures! We very, very rarely have snowfall like that here on the south coast of England...... and certainly not as cold. Was that 3 degrees Farenheit??? That's minus 16 degrees Celcius....... Pretty cold!!!! Regarding wasting time; for me it's often just 'getting started' that I find frustrating. It feels like 'walking through treackle (molasses) as I stumble around the garage looking for a tool that I KNOW I put down on the bench yesterday!!! On my last project, the flexible plastic tube to the rear screen washer had broken..... couldn't get the old one out (short of major surgery) and so, I spent hours 'faffing about' patching in a short length of pipe. The air did turn 'blue' a few times!!!! XX P

Bugatti in the snow video would have been a double HOOT. Plus you would have real life knowledge of why the weight is needed on the front! I wasted my snow days on lawn mowers and painting a bedroom. Bruce's advice for today: Design the seats with side bolsters and a bit of butt grabbing. Flat padded boards add the fun of constantly trying to not fall out.
My gosh guys my tunnel extension for my T56 Magnum in the Camaro took me three days to fab up. and that crossmember i thought would take maybe 3-5 hrs not 100 hrs. Sometimes that stuff starts little and gets like HULK size and 4 hrs has gone by!!!

Hi there from Uncle Nick: I wish to suggest to look for duel port heads for your engine (likely a 1600) a 3 piece manifold and one two barrel weber carb. with adaptor. I think a 40 IDF is good but please check., also a better/free exhaust is needed. the rest is tune up stuff. this engine is at 40 HP. or so it is not enough! for hills or freeway, Think valve job & new rings!

With a points ignition you generally need a ballast resistor to protect the points maybe I just did'ntsee it.

Happy belated Birthday, that’s a park lock by the shifter common thing on Dune Buggies and Rails, but you shouldn’t need a proportioning valve any way.
AAron please take away Emily's crescent wrench and introduce her to box ends.... Emily, self tapping screws are not allowed for brake reservoirs, especially with the tip pointing into the cockpit.... Think Bolt, Lock Washer and nut... Love you channel Keep up the fantastic Vids!!
I was being lazy and not wanting to drill holes and have to go to the hardware store for nuts & bolts! 😜 I figure I’ll just zip the ends of the self tappers off with the grinder! Did I mention I’m not a fabricator? LOL!

Hi, ah yes, the famous 10 x minute jobs, lol, learnt the hard way from having land rovers for the last 30 x years , they always like to throw a spanner in the works to keep u on ur toes , lol, awesome channel and u both make such a brilliant team, apologises asking but have u ever done a video on tools etc please , reason I ask is I keep looking at tool/ drawer cabinets but as there’s so many to choose from was wondering what kind of things to look for in a toolbox please, also what are some of ur go to tools, thanks so much for taking the time sharing such great content , stay safe, ps , happy belated birthday and shame the weather wasn’t kinder for cruise on ur boat 👍

Tools are such a personal preference thing! We really enjoy the Sonic box that we have, you can buy them precooked with the organizer foams and it’s awesome!!! High quality tools with free replacement too!
