UPDATE: I did indeed already have Unfriended on DVD lol and I found Pulse (2001) on ThriftBooks!
Sarah, you mentioned Wes Craven. Have you seen his movie Deadly Friend? It’s a slice of 80s horror cheese. Check it out.
Wow Sarah I really like that plus those of the stores I go to get DVDs and Blu Rays for my collection too
I have an unopened bluray of Ringu 2 and 0 I'd love to send you. If you had a PO box I'm sure fans would send tons of stuff.
It would be so hard for me to remember which movies I have and which ones I don’t with a collection size like yours lol
omg love the CAVE
Hunting for physical media is one of my favorite pass times. Very comforting
Same
(It's actually "pastime" :)
I love physical media soo much. I’m probably one of the only 17 year olds collecting horror movies
Congratulations you're keeping the media alive! Especially at such a young age!👏
I'm a horror collector too. I've been collecting since VHS in 1984 and have an enormous collection which is pushing me out of my studio lol!🤣
that makes me so happy!!
Same but I’m 15
@EastonSmith86 that's great I got my first VCR to play VHS at 15 from my mom. You're on your way.🫡
pls make this a regular series!!! 🖤
My husband and I have a pretty good size dvd collection probably 100-200 if I had to guess. However my uncle passed away 1yr ago and I choose to inherit his dvd collect, which is about 2,000 😮. They’re currently in boxes, but I’m so excited to have them out one day. He was single, never married, and no children so that’s what he spent money on. I have a dream of potently opening a video rental store one day and being able to share them with others who also miss renting actual movies. ❤
Omg I love this 🥹 that’s such a good idea I’d totally rent videos from you
Please do this! I miss video rental stores!
Wow! Its great that you have those to remember him by!
I once found so many awesome movies/tv shows at a library bookstore and it seemed like they all came from one owner who had very specific taste in horror/thriller/BBC detective things. The older ladies that run the place said it was an older man who passed and his family were cleaning out his home.
Damn that's kinda sad actually. I feel like I'd turn out to be exactly like your uncle (I'm single, child free, not married) lol with a massive physical media collection after I die with no one to inherit it 😂
@@darksider9534 awww I’m sorry, there’s nothing wrong with having an awesome collection
It makes me so happy that physical is resurging in social media now that people are becoming more aware of the dangers of streaming
What dangers of streaming? You can literally enjoy both. I fucking hate normies and young people getting into collecting and shit. Yall ruined record collecting, but letting Taylor Swift and that fat blonde chick print their shit music on vinyl.
This video just EMANATES cozy, fall, vibes. Felt really comforting!
i work at a thrift store and am always amazed at the little treasures i find in the CD and DVD sections, unfortunately because i work there i can’t shop there so i’m always really excited when other people find and buy them. side note but working at a thrift store where i’m not allowed to shop has really helped with my scarcity mindset when it comes to thrifting… guys there will ALWAYS be another version of the thing you find second hand, if you can’t get it right now don’t fear you will be able to find it again
Another source for DVDs and CDs is library book stores. Most libraries have them. I usually go to the main branch. They sell them for $1 either a movie or a set. The other day I found some that were still in their original wrapping.
Agreed I hit up all of my local library bookstores, thrift stores, consignment stores, and record stores all the time.
Thank you for bringing us along for the hunt ❤ Building a DVD collection is also a hobby I love
“the cave” secondhand store looks SO cool, if i lived near there i would be there all the time lol
Such a fun idea for a video!! Please do more of these for books and/or music too!
Ok but that House of Wax shirt 🔥
It's honestly a blessing to see you still collect physical media. It really does make me feel better to know that collectors still love to get as many movies as possible. It's great that movie influencers and fans like yourself help us movie lovers have hope that physical media is not ready to die yet. I still collect physical media to this day and i love my huge collection of movies. Loved this video! Keep up the great work ❤
THE MOON IS SOOOOOO GOOD AND MY FAVORITE KPOP IDOL OF ALL TIME IS STARRING IN IT
Kyungsoo supremacy.
Hip hip hooray for physical media! No one in my life understands why I still buy blu-rays and DVDs, but you summed it up. And yeah, nothing can beat their special features. I still love to watch the movie with the director’s commentary.
Please keep doing videos like this! I've been collecting movies since i was 12-13 (25 now), seeing collection videos like these is always so comforting
I love thriftbooks! And I agree, while streaming is pretty convenient, I much prefer having physical media! Just knowing I have this and it's mine, nobody can take it, is a nice feeling. And watching special features is so unique and fun.
Im a giant proponent of physical, 1 just because i like holding a thing, and 2 obviously with how dumb these media companies are being you kinda need physical media so you dont your favorite shows and movies
Cursed is a fun movie that happened to be absolute CHAOS behind the scenes. Worth reading the Wikipedia page on the production.
This is so comforting for no reason
I thought I was the only person who loved the movie Before I Fall. SUPER underrated. BANGING soundtrack. Nuanced characters. Bold ending. Loved it.
Wow that store looks amazing 💜
I am literally salivating at the sight of the size of the selections in these stores. I have nothing like this anywhere near me 😭 I’m now living vicariously through this video
The delayed gratification comment is so true. I've been trying to build up my book library with older editions by thrifting more than buying them for a markup on something like pango...and when I manage to hunt one down, it feels like such an accomplishment.
I've been collecting physical media since 1988. I've got more movies now than i even have the storage space for anymore but i don't care because nothing beats owning your own physical copies of your favorite films. It's refreshing to finally see someone who still buys DVDs and isn't a Blu-ray/4k only collector. The Cave and Cursed are both faves of mine. I've honestly never heard of Talk to Me but i might check it out.
Omg Fern walking!!! 😭😭 loved this video!
I LOVE THIS! So casual and awesome, the cave looks so cool
The Cave is the best! Erie Loch is the man!!!
I loooove RE:Village so much! I hope you and your partner enjoy playing through it!
I always loved watching your old vlogs and thrift with me videos so this was such a nice surprise ☺️
DVDs reign supreme! My collection is somewhere around 4000-5000 - all DVDs because many have never gotten a Blu-ray release in Australia or were the more affordable option
Your last dvd collection video inspired me to start digging through those $5 movie bins at Walmart and target! It’s been really fun slowly filling out a shelf
I ALWAYS thought a major major reason to keep collecting physical media was for those special features!!! I also just love having something physical to hold, and like look at lol
off topic but i’m so glad to know someone else loves "before i fall"
this is so nice and comforting to watch ! the cave is my fave place to get my physical media too !!!
Love this video, and love physical media! I’m an og subscriber of your lifestyle channel so this brought me back 🥹❤️
LOVEEE these types of videos!!
love physical media content so much! would love to see more videos like this
Love these kind of 'come with me' videos!
I would love to see more videos like this! Also loved the music you added to the video. Totally fits the vibe. xx
Love the variety of content Sarah is giving us. I threw away all my dvds which I regret. This has made me want to start my collection again ❤
You threw away your dvd collection? Good lord why would you do that? Lol
Would *love* to see this on your channel more regularly! Also, obsessed with your choice of music in this edit
i love this video! so comforting
I lived in Sacramento back when Dimple Records was open and I loooved shopping there! Hearing you mention it brought back so many memories ☺️
This is my favorite style of CZcams content to watch... 10/10! ❤️
Love your channel, love physical media, and loveee the music choice, this is the perfect video
Yess so excited for this! 🖤
Great video! That was fun, and now I want to go look for/shop for scary movies. Loved the bloopers at the end too!
BEFORE I FALL YESS!!! i love that movie so much and no one knows about it or doesn’t like it. i love that you love it!
Your vids are like my comfort place. Loved loved loved this one! Please never stop. 🤍
The way u edit ur videos is so visually appealing
I randomly stumbled upon this vid. I love it. It's right up my alley. I love watching movies. And the collection. Many people don't actually film Walmart. So people im 5, 10, 100 years would be able to see what these stores look like. This could be the key evidence in their PhD thesis
OMG WE NEED MORE OF THIS CONTENT :D
I love physical media. I’m filled with nostalgia omg
The Amazon exclusive 4k of talk to me was amazing
i love love love physical media. theres something so comforting about a physical copy. i miss movie stores so much 😭
This was so so so fun! Would love to see more content like this ❤
I like this background music! More of these vlogs please
Cursed (Unrated Version) is so good! What a find!
Wow The Cave store is amazing! 😍 I could spend hours in there looking at everything
I LOVE your interlude music!! It’s a cross between bauhaus and an early cure vibe!! I want it just to listen to as background music seriously!!
So fun!! My local used book store is my happy place ❤ they also sell Blu ray, DVD, etc.
This is so vicariously satisfying
Hunting for physical media is one of my favorite things to do. Along with drifting for clothes and other home decor items. It's always really satisfying when I find a really cool Fox set or a collector's edition of something, add a second hand store, that way I know I have something special.
Ahhh I am so excited to watch! I love physical media ❤
Heck yeah! I have bought physical media more than once if an anniversary edition comes out or a special edition comes out and has AMAZING special features that the old version did not have. Also, kudos to the studios that put awesome artwork on the Blu Rays and DVDs. I was a child of the 80s and a teenager of the 90s, so I have never stopped buying physical media. Loved this video!!! Thanks, Sarah!
this was so enjoyable!!! you should do more
I love this video & would love to see more like it!
The Cave is one of my all time favorites!
As someone who also collects DVDs, I really appreciate this 🖤
I grew up in a physical media collecting household and I built my own collection. But, I sold a lot of it for extra cash in my early twenties, which I regret. I’m trying to get back into it! Thanks for taking us along with you
Would love to see more videos like this from you, maybe a few times a year? A nice treat, especially when the second hand shops have as cool as vibes as The Cave did. 👾
An enjoyable tour and I am envious that you have a great store like 'The Cave' - that was awesome. As I am now 75, my ability to walk around is not what it used to be. I was delighted to hear that Thrift Books also sells dvds and blu-rays. I started buying books from them and am so far happy with the results.
More of this. I love collecting physical media and enjoy seeing what others find. I will check out The Moon!
Really enjoyed this video and would love to see more in the future! I've recently started building my own physical media collection and it's been a really entertaining experience so far!
loved this! please share your shopping again. I never thought I would want to own dvds again, but have been feeling sick of streaming servies never having what i love to watch over and over again. Dvds seem to be the answer!
LOVING the thumbnail ... and the video itself! 😊
I do same as you. Mostly thrift stores, but I will check the Walmart discount bins every now and then too. Love my physical media!
Great video. I am so thankful for my film/TV collection especially these days with all that is happening with streaming. Long live physical media!
real cozy video, love it
love, love, love your music choice!
I've been scrolling the comments to see if anyone mentioned the music in the video as it slaps - do you know the name of the song/artist?
I love this kind of video! I love physical media
Missed your vlogs so much ❤
I Do this all the time, I am a horror VHS collector and FINDING IT IN THE WILD is the best part. It's easy to buy online but when you find that one obscure film you've been looking for in a thrift store its the ultimate rush! Its also a never-ending treasure hunt! Also that House Of Wax shirt is sick!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS YESSSSS
Goodwill is also a decent place to find DVDs.
OMG I love this! My best friend lives on her own now and cut down on streaming services since they're expensive and she's looking to get a DVD player and stock up on DVD's! personally, as someone who is a Millennial and studying film, I love the idea of keeping physical media still. I think it's the nostalgia for me!
Physical media is a must!
Loved the video. As a physical media collector myself I always like to browse and find used gems. The last part of the video was hilarious by the way. Holding the dvd the right way. 😊
Paradise for physical media collector's.Wish i had this kind of stores in Belgium.
BLUEY!! Your kiddo has great taste😊
Fun video idea, I'd watch more of these! Hunting for second hand media (mostly books for me) is one of my favorite things to do on weekends when I don't have plans.
DVDs/Blurays that I'm working on collecting are all the seasons of Buffy, X Files and Bob's Burgers. It is just too expensive to have all the streaming services every month and most of my Hulu watching was just rewatching which feels silly to pay a subscription for each month.
Yesss! Please make this a regular thing on the channel. I loove physical media, but the country I live in has literally no stores that specialize in used DVDs, blurays etc. There are thrift stores where they do sell movies, but the selection is not comparable at all. Watching this video made me so jealous haha 😅
Maaaan. I'm from Panamá and I order my books from the HPB and Thrifbooks stores in the amazon site. I've built a library of those. Good to see they holding the line on the physical media.
I love huntong for dvd’s videos!!! Ever since collecting dvd’s are becoming more popular.
I used to watch Spice World, 13th Warrior and Money Talks every weekend because they were the only 3 dvds I owned so they now hold a special place in my heart.
This video was so much fun!
I love that you got RE Village! It’s such a great game! I hope you enjoy it. I always like to search for physical media anytime I’m at a second hand shop even though I buy 4K’s, I’m always on the hunt for a few movies that haven’t seen a blu-ray or 4K treatment yet, or old video games! Anyway, I love this stuff and would def love to see more videos like this in the future!
Loved this so up for more videos like this 🥰
