    The color is just a little pink for my taste. The images are strong. Nice lighting.

    Love it! Think I would've dimmed the light bulb a little in the top right in the wide shot and not see the lamp shade in the close-up. Nice job !

    Thank you for comparison Phantom Luts on the same footage. Very cool seeing subtle differences between each one.

    I’m always in between Neutral, utopia and tungsten as well ☺️👍

    Utopia seemed the most interesting to me, but I'd have to check it side-by-side on a calibrated screen instead of my TV.

      It has a nice pop to it! Calibrated screen, what’s that. . . 😬

    Another great video. Big fan if Phantom luts. They undoubtedly extended the working life of my FS7ii, though thankfully now mived over to FX6.
    I generally stick with the neutral lut but reckon Utopia suits the feel of this shot.

    definitely keep the BG darker , page one for interviews , I think thats a good ratio you have , I wouldn't have used the bounce fill personally even . It's a nice advantage of FF cameras and fast lenses (and AF !) that set direction and location choice is a lot more important that having to mess with the dreaded "video slash" like the old ⅔ inch sensor days , when the BG was 99% going to be in focus.

    Looks great brother. I use Phantoms for when I really don't want to worry about grading. I grab the Neutral almost every time.

    the room is dark, I would've have opened the blinds at bit more or shot a light in the ceiling to bring up the levels in the space.

    Beautiful work. For SLOG3 do you expose with +1 or +2 stop on the skin tone and is zebra's also goo to expose for skin tone (70 area)

    I wonder if 600W CoB and big 150 dome are faster to setup than 4x4 LED panel.
    Have you tried 4x4 panels for such scenarios?

    • @PDMokry
      @PDMokry  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I would love to get my hands on a 4x4 setup. Speed is very important on shoots like this. I get get the light and dome up in under 5 mins. If the same went for a 4x4, it would be priority in my kit.

    • @JoATTech
      @JoATTech Před 2 měsíci

      @@PDMokry Try Godox F600Bi.
      Although I'm not sure you can set it up within 5 minutes when fully disassembled. I have to time the setup someday.
      Some gaffers use different frame for it (Andrew Lock), so they have it always on the frame. With your grip van you can probably have it fully assembled (it's like 6 inches thick).
      But it depends how far the parking spot is from the location.
      Advantage is you can get it through door frames fully assembled, but you have to do separate trip for the panel, unless you find a way to mount it on the transport trolley.
      It's also harder to angle vs softbox with the CoB, since panel is very close to the stand.
      I think it's worth trying.

    • @robinprobyn1971
      @robinprobyn1971 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@JoATTech I found mounting panels to a short grip arm works . Then you can extend the arm out a bit from the stand ,to angle the light down. The light to stand spigot they supply usually aunt much good anyway :) Also Godox have a Travel series of softboxs now QR _ PXXT , that aren't so deep and so alot less cumbersome to deal with on location. I have the 90cm and it's a much smaller bag / footprint.

    • @JoATTech
      @JoATTech Před 2 měsíci

      @@robinprobyn1971 Yeah, I got myself avenger pins for the grip head, they are around 16cm long (~6.5 inches) and with them I can angle F600Bi a bit.
      Tried also using C-stand arm, works well, but the problem is the arm is ~1m long, so it beats the purpose of having flat panel, because it sticks 1m behind :(.
      If necessary I can use my big boy - Kupo 546M Junior Boom Stand, but then the arm sticks back even mode.
      How long is your grip arm?

    • @robinprobyn1971
      @robinprobyn1971 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@JoATTech Its about 30cm I guess , it was a short one , they are probably about 40cm or so as sold ,and then I got a local metal work place to cut it down more. You can sort or angle it out and up , so it's not sticking out directly behind. It's still way less than a huge deep dome / soft box. I use it with Intellytech Mega 6 and Mega 4. Light weight travel kit recently bought Zhiyun Molus G300 / Godox 90cm QR-P90T Travel series , much shallower dome easier to carry and set up is smaller rooms.

    I would suspect that you would want to maintain a consistent look throughout the documentary and not switching between luts.
