My sister went to see them in the late 90s or early 00s and I guess she was there early and it was a teeny venue, but either way, she ended up hanging out with Buzz and Dale, just shooting the shit about music. She said they were so kind and down to earth, she got pictures with them both, but said the conversations were better than getting the pictures. I wish I could thank them for making her so happy, she had a tormented life and unfortunately passed away last April. I know that was one of her cherished memories.

Sometimes they just play the entire album from start to end with nothing else. Haha. So maybe you were experiencing some of their boring stuffs that night, no? Walked several miles through crowded streets (even for this city) from work to the venue as I thought maybe the Melvins, if any band would, might play through. Not to be. Also had Gaslight Anthem and Swans tickets for that week. King Buzzo is right though, you never get over it. Would be nice to see Melvins and HOF play a makeup gig though. Montesano, WA class of 1995 here. The Melvins were oddly and quietly legendary in our community because no one did anything in Grays Harbor County but work in logging. Being an artist in any meaningful way was a foreign concept. Somehow these guys created a cult following and by the time Nirvana hit the big time in the early 90s, they had already been at it for 8 years or so. No one was playing the kind of music they were, which was really cool. You could go to the Disc Jockey, a music store at the South Shore Mall in Aberdeen about 15 minutes away, and buy their shirts and albums along side some of the big artists of the time, it was pretty wild. I wasn't a fan at the time, but have since become a fan later in life and have come to realize they deserve a ton of credit for doing their own thing and for their influence on metal/grunge music. Anyway, Buzz has always seemed like a cool and chill dude and I liked the fact that he didn't correct Graham when he mispronounced Montesano. Thanks for the cool video Loudwire.

For anybody who thinks that Buzz is jealous of Nirvana, Dave grohl once said in an interview that they had asked Buzz to be their second guitarist. He turned them down and they ended up getting Pat Smear. After The melvins signed to Atlantic records, they could have easily changed their sound for a more commercial one and they didn't. That is hardcore.
