  • We caught up with Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover before soundcheck at Venue, in Vancouver, BC. The guys had many interesting things to say, about life, and have a great sense of humour. Oh yeah, they also know a ton about great records.

Recently I've been going back and reevaluating Melvins' catalogue, from 97-21. Can't believe how consistently good it all is. I can't think of another group I can say that about. Love them.

Melvins still conquer all. Still relevant. Still weird. Still funny. They never sold out, and they never became shitty. I try to catch them whenever they play nearby, though I missed them recently.

I like when they do those Senile Animal songs with the current lineup.
And I think they should bring back the extra guitars. My favorite lineup is when they had Rutmanis on bass and Scott Stone on guitar. I think they should come up with a new configuration in reverse of Melvins Lite. 2 drummers, 2 bass players and 2 guitar players. Or even make it bigger and have THREE guitars.

Revolver! Even more mind-boggling when you consider that they were limited to 8 tracks. Making the bounce decisions and living with the results is a part of the process that we haven’t had to live with for 50 years.
