With family in Costa Rica and we took an efoil class at the beach in Samara. The instructor ‘Ingrid’ swam the board (upside down) through surf and then held lesson on outside. All four teenagers were up on foil within hour at 1/2 speed and having the time of their lives. Amazing!! If you have chance to try somewhere definitely!! Definitely need to be selective on places to Efoil due to water / underwater obstacles and hazards. A gps / charts option in the hand controller would be one way to address navigation concerns. Can’t wait until next ride!!!!

I wondered how long it would take for this type of vehicle to come to fruition. I remember seeing concept sketches back in the late 90s to the early 2000s. Nice to see someone actually made one.
Nick and MHL are Hydrofoiling pioneers and they're innovating again. We started riding their toys over 5 years ago. Each one is unique, a true masterpiece and the first ones sold are still riding strong on the second hand market. They set super high standard for themselves so don't expect less from them on their latest project. Can't wait to ride it :D
I agree with the other commenters. This is an excellent product, but the pricing is way out there. I own electric longboards, etc - I get the component costs, and this is way too high a price. Bring it down... and you'll get sales, and lots of fans / users posting videos of themselves on it, etc like the electric long boarding communities do on their favorite board. Price too high though... no sales. No community. Only a toy for the ultra rich. Bummer that. Great product. Want one. Can't afford this price point - nor justify it even if I could afford it. Please reconsider your pricing.
for 12,000 the battery should be able to let me ride all day and not just 1 hour and when i'm done riding the girl in the video should bring me a beer.
Darth Teabagger I agree, that's why this thing will end up in the rental market at resorts people were paying $200 to use one for an hour and then a boat will come pick him up when your battery dies in the middle of nowhere in the ocean. Sounds like a lot of fun, I think I'll stick to surfing, I got my best surfboardfor $35 at a swap meet and I've surfed in 12 countries on it

cantstand stupid You can get two brand new beginners PWCs (Seadoo Sparks) and a trailer for them for that price... These people are so out of touch with reality its just sad. Only somewhat reasonable excuse would be that they think they can recoup development costs in the first hundred sales(rich idiots) or something. First adopter exploitation does have limits though and this price is well past that.

In 5 years you'll be able to get these for 3k - 4k and they will be much more stable and mass produced. Mad props for being the first to bring it to market though.
Sold.. but as many have pointed out below, price is out of reach for many, also no mention of warranty on your website and biggest question, what happens if the business does not make money, will I be SOL with a $12,000 surf anchor ?
I know it seems like cost is high but for me this has replaced traveling to Cali or Baja to surf, Wakesurf boat(100k) + gear, jetski, dirt bike and I can foil in Las Vegas then go to work or take the kids to school. If you are experienced surfer or wakesurfer, efoil is super easy because you already know how to do subtle foot position changes without thinking. I've tried to teach quite a few people but unless they are experienced surfers they have a much harder time with the subtle foot and weight repositions which just come without thinking if you've surfed a lot. i already have a boat and jetski..I have a standup paddle board, too. my family looked into buying the water jet pack for lake george but it cant get approved. this is another somewhat affordable option for the lake
I use the wheelchair all day I am a paraplegic. I have mono ski on a Snowy Mountain and would love to be able to use this product. have you thought about mounting a chair to this board maybe having some kind of Outrigger or something? I would love to be able to float and fly on the water like this it would be so freeing!
I would happily pay $4000 for this cool toy. $12000 is just too expensive. Hopefully there will be something similar in the market soon with a more affordable price and longer lasting battery.
Professional Racing Jetski weighs a lot more, costs a bit more too; but it will go 100 MPH, for hours. Rental at the fancy beach is ~U$100/hr. For 12K you could rent 2hr per month for 5 years, or 2hr/day for a week for ten vacations. If you hit a stick or big fish with this thing the motor would snap off. Sure looks excellent, like the Silver Surfer. You just need some Shades and Body Paint.
price sounds great for a developing craft ....prices will plummet with market saturation in future but for now aprox price of a good jet ski and so much more WOW factor !

There should be a disclaimer: "This toy is only for the 1%. You must be this rich to ride." This guy should start a pharmaceutical company, because he price gouges with the best of em. Those of us that actually work for a living would never waste so much money on something like this. It's clear this guy hasn't worked a day in his life and has no idea what that much money is worth to most people.

You know there's a lot of unused surface area. You should consider getting a small solar panel so it can recharge the battery a little. Maybe push the run time to 1hr 5 min. Or have the solar panel connect to a gps tracker.

Medical and injury issues kept stopping me from legit commetition. I'm currently finishing up last couple surgeries to have my freedom back to break records in xtr sports stuff! I got mine. It is fantastic. Yes it is expensive but for me it is a better investment than a motor boat.
