I’d buy 2 for $190. Right now I’m not sure I want to spend $190 for 1.
Just thought of something, with the incredible articulation that Threezero has put out with their Transformers line, IMAGINE, JUST IMAGINE, them doing battle droids with die cast parts. I feel like they would knock it out of the ballpark
20 at least to go against the 10 clones, unless they announce super battle droids. Then you can go 10 regular and 5 super.
I mean let’s face it, in modern times getting any figure from Hot Toys that’s under $200 is very rare. Also the Sideshow versions are fairly old. Personally I’d like to get at least two of the Battle Droids. If they do other variants maybe one or two more. So far I’ve got one pre-ordered.
I prefer the Phantom Menace tan ones. But I love these two. I use to have the original Battle Driods there were two of the that came in the fetal position when they're turned off and it came with an extra backpack that had the 1138 on it. And they stood fine without any stand. Very cool figures they go for a ton of money now on eBay just like all the Clones
I'm getting 1, I'm holding off for now. I'm waiting for the original or the B2 battle droid
I think it would be cool to pair with my clones, but at the same time, with the geonosis skin, i feel like I’m locked in that era. If this were a standard (tan) release, i think I’d be more for it. As of right now though, this is just a pass. Don’t hate it, but not one I NEED.
10 to 1 wouldn’t actually be enough. In The Clone Wars Count Dooku says the droid army outnumbers the clones 100 to 1. Obviously that would be completely ridiculous to try to match for Hot Toys but that is the real number for anyone curious.
you need to buy gigazillion of both versions of course! I remember seeing some of them behind Jon Favreau in an interview. Seriously though, you should order at least as many as you have of the clones.

I just got in the Qui-Gon Jinn Hot Toys, amazing figure. I don't have any obvious figures to pose him with though, and I was looking around for the Roger Roger Battle Droids, but sad to see there are no options at retail prices these days. $190 for a Battle Droid seems pretty steep, especially if there's no die cast on them. I may pick up one if I don't find another figure to pair up with my Qui-Gon in the interm.

apparently they now cost something like $1,380 on hot toys,
i wanted to get like 7 of them but somehow i don't think that's going to happen......
I got 4 on payment plan. I have 2 of the clones on pre order too. One C3-PO and one R2. One clone pilot.
$70 for the droid, $120 for the C-3PO head
Room wise I would narrow it down to one or two of each. I’ve never been an army builder even with 3,75”
Hey Ryan! Man given the vast number of clones you have currently as well as upcoming, it's really hard to say. It'll be easy to just spit out a number when it's your money that has to be considered. Haha! But wow, in all honesty I'd say, what, 20? 😬 Then again, as I try to think back on your display, perhaps you won't need so many. Also it's possible Hot Toys will do color variations. Perhaps 10 to 20 or so. With you having so many clones it's hard not to push the number of battle droids up. Either way I'm sure your display will be insanely cool.
so about 261 more to get 2 vs sideshow release, and would definitely order two sets if it was at the same price as sideshows two pack missed out on that one big

The Sideshow Battle Driods are definitely some of THE best 1/6th scale figures they ever made. I guess I lucked out with my General Grievous mine is perfect nice and tight and great sculpt and paints. Still I'd prefer if Hot Toys made one.

But here's the thing that I can understand if they can put that type of articulation in those battle droids then why couldn't they do the same thing for Grievous do they not know how to do an articulation like that for a larger scale

Fuck ya!!!! I love the Battle Driods. If I could I'd buy a ton and my favorite Troopers from the entire Saga episodes 1-6 the Attack of the Clones Phase 1 Clone Trooper! I'm so psyched about all the announcements but especially these two! I'm hoping that it is the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones I hope they announced Padme and Kit Fisto coming out as well at some point before the end of the year. And the freaking Utapau Trooper I've been waiting for him for at least 3 years now!

If they sold them as a two-pack $192 dollars I would order I would order 4 two orders will be for battle droids from Geonosis and two orders would be battle droids from Naboo but I agree I like these Droids from the prequels but I like them even more in Clone Wars animation
It’s just inflation at the end of the day and the fact that these guys simply have more collectors to exploit I would say lol. The trend from ALL companies is to get increasingly and ridiculously expensive for any given item imo. They still know they have enough people willing to pay . Be interesting what if anything it does to sideshow ones re aftermarket prices . Just one on a stap will do for me personally :)
Not just that but compare the "weathering" on the old ones (😄) to the new. It's not even just paint/deco. But yep, HT prices are pretty damn exy. And Inart haven't even really entered the game yet...
They should be diecast at this price. legs an body. 190 for a plastic "toy" is pushing it as there is "nothing" to them. 2 for 130 was a good deal for plastic, but 190 for 1? They look amazing but not much "bang for your buck"

Given how much the Sideshow battle droids are selling for now, the new Hot Toys' ones are a better deal.
I'd have a few HT ones in front and the cheaper SSC ones behind. Or some 3d printed ones or whatever. That's how they do things in movies anyway. Hero versions up front, background ones in the, er, background (also, at a certain point, just like the movies, forced perspective is your friend. Again, d printed ones would make that easy. How many for me? Maybe 2. So they can tell each other Roger Roger. And I could name them Roger and Roger.
Also, naw. look at your little trashcan back there! I get why people hated them (I don't expand later on and was mostly 2d not 3d) but they fitted my requirements perfectly (lift it with 2 fingers, goes in carry-on on the plane). And I got about a decade out of it, which is forever in computer years.

so this is a review from the old sideshow battledroid and not the new Hot toys battle droid. Dude, your videos are great reviews but on this one you failed, you cannot compare a figure from 2015(ish) with a new model, also consider the prices that could never be the same, (inflation ;) ) also there are difference in quality. I think the old one looks very very cheap compared to hot toys. the new paint job is amazing, full of detail... anyways. I woud suggest to make reviews like this comparation once you have the new figure ;) cheers
