Price is a huge part
Why take cost into it when TW likely blesses him better than any collector out here. It's why I don't watch many of his reviews. They aren't based in reality for the average collector.
He's loaded, cost isn't a factor
It may be the LEAST of the concerns facing this figure, but I'm still just absolutely shocked that after all these years Sideshow can't be bothered to update their bases...it's ridiculous.

I have these in hand, I was so ready to return it from all the forum hate on these, but now in hand, man together with Obi Wan they look really good, I wish they could sell these for 185 (it is a star wars license after all) and it would be a no brainer
Thank you for this review. Mine are on there way!! I’m scared!!! I love this animated look. However, before I pre-ordered them I was thinking price point was a bit much, considering not to many accessories comes with them. That price point should’ve given us at least two different head sculpts. You hit on the nose price point should be 150-175.

My issue with sideshow's figures (even the excellent mythos kenobi), is the bases they provide. Sure the bodies tend to suck, but I typically keep my figures in a pose for a long time before changing again. So it's not a major issue. My issue is they used to give cool diorama type bases, but now they only give a generic hexagonal base. Its ugly and lazy. My first 1/6 figure was the Darth Vader Deluxe and it had a pretty cool light up base and unmasked head sculpt. That was a release from 2014, and it is so weird how it was a peak for their quality. Even the Sideshow Darth Malgus, which is from that same time had a better base than their recent releases, and a superb head sculpt. I repurchased the figure recently and I really think it still holds up very well.
I can't believe the prices shot up from the 180-220 range to a minimum 260, which passes the average Hot Toys figure. They're going to find themselves sitting on these for $290 shipped if they don't start making these worth the cost. The upcoming Yoda and Ahsoka are not really giving me confidence. Ahsoka's screen print skin diamonds are atrocious and look like a $15 barbie doll.
classic comic book characters down in this same style is the way to go forward.

Thank you for this fair review. I was excited about this project by Sideshow and had good hopes. But like you said it is all in the details why this will be an easy pass… sadly.
If it was $150 then yes all the flaws would have been kinda exceptable, but for almost $300 with all the extra cost, this will hopefully not sell good and should Sideshow consider which league they want to play in.

It appears that he either has an offset Adams Apple..or does he just have a Tumor growing on the side of his neck?
Anyone have the issue of a large gap between the head and neck? His did not seem to have that issue

They're honestly better then I thought they were however there's no chance I can justify spending the amount that they're asking. I'd love to include the Anakin/Obi + Yoda/Ahsoka into the collection but not at that price point.

I've purchased 6 sideshow figures in my life, 3 had problems 2 of which were broken bodies, 1 after 3 weekes on the arm, the other after 1 year on the legs. I own around 20 hot toys figures where only 1 had a slight defect and It might have been my own fault. Do what you will with this info but seeing this confirms everything I know about sideshow.
What kind of Body are these guys using?

I think the Obi-Wan is cool and if I had the disposable income I'd buy him, but, it's like, if I could get a Rogue One Vader on the secondary market for the same price or a Force Awakens Chewie for like $300, there's no way I'd buy him, he's way down on my list.

@@JedhaPatrol I mean not exactly. RO Vader absolutely does not go for 300 unless it has major problems.
I know you requested a replacement body so this won't matter as much, but did you notice the puncture in the neck? It's very visible at 6:44 in your video. Over all I think they are getting decent at sculpts, but until they can bring the body and accessory game up from where it is they should not be trying to charge that price for these figures.
My one question for the sake of questioning: Yes, the stand for this offering is bad. But do they deserve any more criticism over the stand than the "footprints in the sand" we get most of the time? Maybe this is worse because it is just not even trying, but it seems like no company really knows what to do with stands for SW figures.

Thank you so much for your review and it'll save me money. I like the idea of cartoon styled 1/6 scale figures of Clone Wars but the lack of quality is no suprise for S***show 1/6 scale products and they delivered like I thought. This figure ist not worst the money and to call it a highend collector item. For 150 Dollar I would buy it

When they get their act together maybe they can go to the big leagues but that body was not good at all good and the clothing plus the stitching was horrible on the cloak and the figure; even if they lower the price I would not buy it. I still like the prototype head sculpt than this one the same goes for Obi-Wan. Definitely a pass for me if they do a 2.0 maybe but for now I stick to HT’s Anakin am not going the nostalgia route on this figures cuz the quality is subpar at best. Tnx for the review cuz it helps decide whether or not is worth buying.

How much did the hot toys clone wars Anakin end up costing with shipping and taxes? Price wise is it the same ball park because if it is then it's a side by side comparison which this obviously gets smoked in

Dude I knew the price point was high for this shitty body but it just looks so beautiful I used all my sideshow points and only paid 49$ so I’m not too upset lol great honest review as always
These are too expensive. But, i think i'll get both Anakin and Cad Bane down the line, when i have enough reward points.
Why can't they put some better effort in their figure stands when it comes to Star Wars I don't understand if it's not a plane black stand we're getting a sand base at least give us the stickers where we can put a different floor mat on the stand to put a little bit of brightness into it

Hm. I got myself one of those Hasbro inch Vader/Anakin combo-packs. Put the Anakin on a spare body and gave him a black leather tabard. Oh, and painted his light-brown boots and put some more paint on his face and put him on a stand which is not worse than this one. This guy cost me, all in all, 60 USD. And he looks really good now, his belt is better than this Anakin belt.
I may take a little closer look if they issue an animated Captain Rex. We have the Gen 1 and Gen 2 already, I am mainly interested in an animated headsculpt.
But that Anakin? No. Even if he sadly looks great posing, but he is just too much hassle.

Bent over at the waist, pants pulled down around the knees is pretty much emblematic of Sideshow. It's a shame because that's a killer head sculpt.
Am I the only one bothered by his misaligned Adam's Apple?

What a shame: the concept is great, the boxes look amazing, but the QC and price? I know SW probably comes with high licensing fees, but $250 for this? I also collect military 1/6 and DiD, Easy & Simple, Facepool are priced much better. Most are still under $200 or just inching above $200. Easy & Simple figs come with about 40+ accessories. Also, the EXO-6 Star Trek line is way better priced than either Sideshow or Hot Toys.

I was watching another video today showcasing the same problem with the waist (19:44) coming apart at the ball joint. (The video shows the problem around 9.33 - czcams.com/video/jCCJWI8ZZCE/video.html) The QC on these figures are a joke.
I think Sideshow went backwards. In the earlier days of one sixth... Their Star Wars figures were better back then. (For that time period)
It's as though they haven't progressed whatsoever during the last 14yrs. The only thing that progressed was their prices!

The price for this one is completely insane...for a Sideshow 1/6 i would pay max 100 bucks...i bought their Vader from ROTJ and he was horrible...the headsculpt was horrible the material feel incredibly cheap...man..the only 1/6 Sideshow has done correctely was the first Vader from a new hope a great piece that i jelousy own.
Hot toys charge 260 for a clone wars Anakin with Hayden headsculpt and tons of accessories and much better quality...
How can they ask for the same price for this one?!?!

This looks like a doll that would be sold at the Disney Store for $49.99 with the same quality, if not better body. Last time I got Rogue One dolls at Disney store, the bodies were Hot Toys quality and even had Hot Toys compatible parts. Sideshow is greed.

Have them. Like them. Agree with your assessment. The gauntlets and boots are articulated. They seem to be on a very snug socket but it does allow them to rotate independently.
This EXACT same thing happened to me but 3 pieces came out not just one. Happened to me day of receiving and then I contacted BIGBADTOYSTORE (where I bought it from) and they said they’d send a replacement once I send it back (I’ve yet to do) but I was curious and looked it up, seen the thumb nail clicked and discovered that my situation was not rare. This is my first 1/12 scale figure and feared I’d done something wrong, but oddly comforting that I am not the only one. Thank you for the informing video.
This thing that I find so interesting about Sideshow is that at this point in time in 2022 going to 2023 they are still proving that the only great figures that they can produce in sixth scale is from hot toys and anytime Sideshow itself that is supposed to be the number one place to get these things of Pop Culture decide to make a figure there's always majority of time some type of defect or bad design in clothing or structure but yet you have third party that don't have the equipment and things that Sideshow and hot toys have and yet majority of the time nine times out of 10 they create some very great figures good head scopes good accessories an outfits for the figures why the sideshow that's supposed to be number one give majority of their own figures such lack of effort but yet that new commercial they have is supposed to be all about the pop culture well they should hire some people that actually believe in that and actually are about the culture
Yea those figures were always wayyy overpriced. It’s a shame cuz they’re great figures cosmetically speaking but sideshow can go screw themselves with these outrageous prices.
