I’m currently 13, 14, I decided to workout for strength. I really hate the idea of growing up and having to depend on someone else for protection. But I don’t think people who don’t work out are lazy, It’s just that, some people want to do different things to at they don’t have time to work out. I’m trying to stay consistent, but yk, I got exams to do, art to improve, friends to play with. I can’t devote my life to working out. I also just decided to start working out because I’ve begun to like P.E a lot more

  • @madnessends2477

Yeah your personality can be so grating at times. Ppl who don’t work out are not “lazy pieces of sh*t”. Many ppl are already exhausted just from working their 9 to 5, or genuinely struggle to start, find it intimidating etc. the fact it comes easier for you doesn’t make you better than them. Hell I’ve been working out for 5 months and its genuinely hard for me to find motivation, even so Im determined to persevere. Am I a “lazy piece of sh*t” too?

I get what you are saying. However, most people don't wanna admit that they are wasting their time and don't do anything productive outside school/work. What do you think those 9 to 5 people do when they come home? Video games, TV, and other forms of instant gratification. Being tired from work doesn't give you excuses to be a loser and not develop your discipline. So even though they are not "pieces of sh"t", they are at least lazy!

Just do treadmill 6 days a week for a month. That builds discipline. When doing alpine pass 3.5 speed at 4.5 incline for 40 mins a day in the first month, I lost 10 pounds. Then I realized it was a big achievement. You also have to realize that everything you have is rented, not owned. That goes with everything in life, not just the gym. So you have to take that attitude with you everywhere whether it's gym, work, relationships or marriage. I realized what I've accomplished in that first month and did not want to lose my gains, plus I wanted to achieve something difficult and see what I would look like if I became fit. So I'm still going.
Currently a newbie who's been going to the gym for a month and a half. However I've only been lifting for two weeks. Going on the treadmill for the first month however really built up my discipline and would also recommend newcomers to do the same.
