Exercise is one of things that massively helped me deal with my depression. I get why it's hard to start. It was reallly hard for me to start. But nothing is more painful than hating yourself and your life and getting used to your misery. Sadness can be addictive but once you're on the outside, it feels like you escaped a cult and it's terrifying thinking of going back. Exercise IS the answer to SO many people's mental health problems. It won't help everyone but it is worth everyone trying

exercise has almost singlehandedly got me off 12 years of heroin and methadone addiction. it is extremely pwoerful, unfortunatly other addicts i know wont or feel like they cant exercise. once you feel even in your shit situation that you see some sort of improvment in anything at all, no matter how small it starts momentum joe talked about in the right direction..

I'm in near the exact same situation as you, I'm 17, I lost 48 pounds after being pretty overweight. I became skinny and then started working out to beef up a little, I started lifting weights as well as performing bodyweight exercises, I've gotten pretty good results but the last few weeks I've just... lost all motivation and drive to workout, nothing motivates me anymore and I seriously struggle everytime I workout to keep going

Juan Caesar I fell into that same weird unmotivated funk about 2 weeks ago... maybe cause it’s summer and I’ve been distracted with friends, girlfriend etc... but sometimes you just gotta look at the hard truth and say “do I wanna get out of shape again, do I wanna wait till I’m 35 and be mad that I didn’t get in shape when I was young and more able to do it” cause if you don’t get into shape when your young it’s a lot harder to do it when you older and have more responsibilities.......so it’s either get back in the gym and do it 2x harder or get fat and sad 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂😂 Don’t worry tho, many people get into a funk but it’s easy to get out of

I'm going to give this a go. I was given 12-14 months to live in February, because of a grade IV glioblastoma brain tumor. I don't know if I'll fall into the 75% who don't live longer than a year. The odds are against me, but that 25% has to filled with those who didn't. I'm going to get in as good shape I've ever been, with however much time I have left.
And what Joe Rogan says is true. Whichever route you take, slacker or doer, your brain rewards you either way. Only the healthy route is free of guilt and remorse that come with letting your body go to shit. I'm nearly 20 lbs overweight. I'm confident that I can complete some of these 30 day challenges, and get into shape.
    Thanks, Joe Rogan.

That's what most people don't get. You have to make exercise part of your lifestyle; feeling that crunch, that physical strain is a good thing, it means you're putting yourself on the path. If you persist and make it a part of you, you'll not only be physically stronger, but you'll also be less oppressed to doing things that need done in general, you'll be more positive mentally, and have more energy.

We often will only do something when we are in enough pain that we need to get up and do something because we can't stand to be in that place anymore. Start where you are and congratulate yourself for doing something.

just had a massively shitty day, ended it with a good gym session. Came out another person. Anxiety and depression are pervasive and truly fcked, but exercising REALLY really helps me deal with the more hardcore feelings. Takes the edge off, liberates me for a whole different perspective on life. What i now struggle with is more a sense of being kind to myself when i dont meet my goals or dont improve as fast as i can. Its all good if i just keep at it, one step at a time. Keep perfectionism under control and avoid comparing with other people who are naturally fitter becoz they ve been training for a longer time. Sometimes i go training and i still feel a little overwhelmed (everyone is fitter than me, blablabla) but the rush that comes after giving my best at it... its priceless. And the mental benefits are FAR superior than the physical ones, no matter how greatly you improve phisically... its always gonna be even better between your ears. 🤜🤛

After high school is quit working for two years. I gained some considerable weight and everyday felt slow and depressing. Didn't know what I wanted to study in college and had no real motivation. All I did was sit in front of my pc and play games all day. Now it's been 4 months and I've changed my life around. Making better choices. I wake up and take a cold shower everyday and then begin my workout. I've been sticking to a plan for these 4 months and I'm already seeing results physically and mentally. And you know what? A funny thing happens when you start to look better and feel better. You gain confidence and like Joe said, you gain momentum. Just pick a plan, start, and stay with it! Whether you're into bodyweight workouts, weight training, yoga whatever just start and stay with it.

Everytime I said this is the week I go back to the gym regularly, I would go once or twice and return to my now "normal" lifestyle. It's not easy to develop a routine, and live a healthy lifestyle. It is however incredibly easy to give up.

      1. You are physically more attractive to people
      2. Your self confidence will go up
      3. People who are committed to health show a sign of discipline
But one thing that I believe I have learned is that just because you are fit doesn't mean you have the ability to not "put yourself out there". I mean that even if you are physically attractive, chances are the only way you will get into a relationship with someone you find attractive is if you make the first move.

It's horrible logic.. it's like saying "Well i might as well drive my car off a bridge since I'm gonna die anyway."

I don't understand why those people think you CAN'T be happy if you're not eating tons of sugar and fat every day. Happiness comes from lots of different things.
For example, I believe I will be happier if I become ripped one day.
      They're just making excuses.

I consider myself athletic and spend a lot of my week and paycheck on exercise, but I think that is a great way of thinking if they genuinely enjoy it. Not everyone bases how they feel solely on their physical condition

wow what an awesome video! Seeing the older people starting at 5:25 is so motivating. Everything you talked about is on point 100%. I just turned 40 and feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. My wife and I do yoga every morning and I mountain bike every weekend. We both can fit our clothes from highschool. One very important thing that I think you forgot to mention is food. My belief is its 60% diet and 40% fitness. People can exercise all they want but if they shove soda and processed foods down their mouths they will not progress. I am sure your video will help motivate tons of viewers, great job!
