    How does the process work for trasnfering to a csu? Currently I'm going to attend UC Riverside in Electrical Engineering this fall and I started having thoughts of maybe transferring to Cal Poly Pomona since I might have to dorm there(because its closer) but I've been recommended by a lot of people that Cal Poly Pomona is a lot for enginerring majors. Sadly, the reason I didn't choose Cal Poly back in April was because I never recieved my finacial aid and I thought it'll be impossible to pay for tuition without any aid

    huge facts. i remember going to sfsu's advising and asking to see if I could transfer to Berkeley. they said it wasnt possible. i like how you discussed region as well. I'm in LA and my friend got denied from UCLA, but she was accepted in UC Berkeley. We'll see how it goes, but thanks for the insight.

      UC and CSU have different factors to accepting ppl. Since the UCs require PIQ essays its a more holistic and individualized application process.

    Hey Man, I’ve been very adamant about transferring out my CSU to my Community college. I wanted to know if you used the TAG program for any of these UCs. And if you know if they are actually “Guaranteed”. Because I’m trying to transfer as an Aerospace engineer and I know it’s capped but I was wondering if CC TAG program ensures I’ll get in if the requirements are fulfilled.

    Thank you for the video, it was super helpful! I will be attending CSUSM in Fall 2024 as a Freshman, and I really want to transfer to UCLA after 2 years. Since I am already committed to the school, if I do CSUSM for my freshman year and then transfer to a CC for my sophomore year would I still have a greater chance transferring to UCLA even after going to CSUSM for one year? Also, are there any downsides to community college?

    • @adamramirez1

      Transferring to CC increases your chances of getting into ucla dramatically. My advice is just to take General Ed classes that would also transfer over to ucla during your time at csusm.

    I'm going to be honest, I became mortified when I had only a few options to choose from and was disheartened when I enrolled in CSULA, I wish part of me was just content I was able to attend a University but I ended up choosing Civil Engineering the fall semester just to change it to Mechanical Engineering in the Spring semester, ended failing Math and getting a 2.9 GPA. With classes I took for Civil Engineering I'm not sure if it will count as elective credit for ME and now I'm wondering if I should go to a CC and transfer to UCLA :(

    • @adamramirez1

      CSULA is still a good school and you shape how you want to your college experience to be. You can still get the same job prospects if you'd have gone to ucla if you go into engineering post grad. I would focus more on your career path and landing internships rather than chasing the prestige of a school which in the end doesn't really matter.

    Hey man. I’m a hs senior currently applying to college. I have outside of the us for 11/12 grade. I lived in Cali prior for all my life and am a us citizen. I was a stellar student for the first half of high school, but when I had to move to another country my grades tanked and I lost a lot of my extracurriculars. I am interested in the UCs but am not interested in paying the oos fees. CSU is cheaper comparatively. I also think it’s tough to get into the ucs I want to go to with my current stats. I’ve been looking into doing a year at a csu oos and then applying as instate transfer to ucberk/ucla/ucsb as a business or econ major depending on program. Would prefer berk for haas. Is it possible to transfer after say a year at a csu to berk assuming I keep a high gpa and write some cracked essays (also assuming I satisfy cred reqs). What are your thoughts about my situation? Any insight is appreciated

    • @adamramirez1
      @adamramirez1  Před rokem

    • @revengearc865
      @revengearc865 Před rokem

      Thanks for the response bro 🙏. Unfortunately I’m just not in a position to go to a cc, fam won’t allow me to fly halfway across the world for it. There is this really nice cc near where u used to live but it’s in the Bay Area so cost of living is gonna be mad. On top of that I would have to pay 10k ish in fees to attend since I’m not a resident of ca/that county rn. Not sure how worth it that is.
      You said transfer to haas is hard, but what about if I tired transferring to berk from a csu in soph year and then applied to haas while in berk in junior year. It would suck to lose a year especially when berk plans to direct admit to haas starting co2024, but would this somewhat increase my chances or would the difference be negligible.
      What about UCLA’s Anderson school of management and UC Irvines Paul Merage school of business as a transfer from csu in soph year? How different is it from haas. Again assuming i have a 4.0 in freshman year plus great essays and solid ecs.
      I am still applying to a handful of ucs, but uncertain of my chances. Also oos tuition is mad.
      Typing this again cus it doesn’t look like the comment uploaded earlier so sry if u had to read both lol.

    • @adamramirez1
      @adamramirez1  Před rokem

      transferring to any UC from a CSU is difficult in itself, trying to get into haas from a CSU is even more difficult. It just depends what you want to do for a career. Yeah a target school like Haas puts you in a good spot for recruiting but you can recruit to most companies from any school. Unless you want to do MBB consulting or bulge bracket IB do I recommend trying to go to a target school. Hope this helps.
