You got scammed, I was going to build my own pc but I got a prebuilt pc from Best Buy on sale instead because of the great deal. I got a 3060 12gb and an I7 12700f for 900 dollars. I think I did a test a while back where I got at least 600-700 fps in creative on low settings and could play epic settings with everything maxed out at a consistent 120 fps. I could probably get more but I would have to test it.
Make sure any nanite and ray tracing related crap is off such fps killers and fortnite hates directx 12 stutters so much and any gpu driver update just fucks the performance, epic needs to get their shit together with all the bugs and directx issues
My old PC (which was designed for desktop work not gaming) had runnable frames, but would regularly crash. Then I got a gaming PC around $900 and it runs Fortnite with amazing graphics and good frames
I would advise not too. It seems very nice that you can game where ever you want, but in reality, you need a charging point. When you play games the battery goes down insanely fast. I suggest just buying a pc since they are cheaper and you just don't have to worry about charging.

my biggest flex is having 15k hours and one of the top rarest lockers in the world with the over 10k close to 15 ive spent and a 500 dollar pc that runs fortnite with mid graphics at 200 fps and on what i normally play on pro low graphics i get close to 500 sometimes and i can justify my hours because i have 500 dollars in earnings so at least i made something
Depending on motherboard a cheap prebuilt is a great base to upgrade from if you’re scared to build from scratch, got a $1000 prebuilt that was very bad a couple years ago, new cpu, new gpu, and liquid cooler have made it an enjoyable and quiet system. My only limitation now is the PSU, I’d almost rather buy another prebuilt than rearrange all those cables 😂

Try it without the second monitor being on as I remember when I first got a second monitor I dropped about 10-20 frames in demanding games whereas on a game like Fortnite it doesn’t need much so that fps difference could be 40-60
Was the second monitor running off the pc? Wallpaper engine severely hurts performance if you have an intensive wallpaper or multiple monitors. If you disable wallpaper engine you should get much higher framerates.

Turn off vsync for higher fps it helps a lot previously my laptop was running 38 fps with a 3050 and after turning vsync off I got 120 fps smooth
