- This is a MAJOR foot in mouth moment for Meghan Markle. To me this is literally the most tone deaf speech I have ever seen. Talking to a room of injured veterans - literally an athletic games for veterans who have became disabled due to their injuries and Meghan frames essentially "not" being disabled and being able to "jump from boat to boat" as what is truly important. To me it is shocking to be so daft.
Meghan has single handedly ruined these games like she ruins everything she comes near.

At least 2000 Invictus athletes are refusing to return until they are gone. Harry was kicked off the board last year. The King got involved to keep Harry there through Invictus england. I do adaptive sports myself and just want those military athletes to have the same positive experience that I have had. Harry was always the wrong man. Too selfish

Yep, disabled but not a vet. Her remarks are ableism personified. I've done everything in my power to deal with a genetic disorder but recovery or even evidence based treatment is a mirage. Not a moral failure on my part, it's a wonder she didn't offer to "cure" them by placing on her hands. She hasn't a clue what it is like to have to deal with serious injury and disability everyday.

After years of complaints, the athletes finally got Meghan barred from speaking during Invictus Germany. Within minutes of arriving she grabbed the mike and gave a long speech about herself. She said family is important to her. The athletes ignored her.

Each brought something to the table - singing etc. Her thing was a pair of high heels - really. I think she was paid for this in between filming Suits. Theres footage of her on stage singing White Xmas with the others - its cringe to see the others keeping their distance from her.

She pauses to wait for the claps, she is a very boring repetitive speaker, not natural or authentic.
I'm gobsmacked at the amount of applause she's getting.
This was their first time together in Australia, and we Australians give people the benefit of the doubt because she was still a working Royal at this point

I believe she's enrichig the wounded veterans lives just with her presence. Since the first time I saw this Invictus speech I have felt that she's talking down to them (excuse my English, I'm from Sweden). It is so clear that she think that she is above the veterans and she's kind of talking to them like you talk to really small children. The veterans have achieved and expeienced so much more than she have during their life, overcome so many challenges, and they were wounded in WAR, but she's talking to them like they fell from a swing in kindergarten). I can not understand how she can talk to them like this (and then complain about her life)!!!

Such a great point! She didn't focus at all on the wounded veterans prevailing despite their permanent injuries, she chose to make her speech about the one case that was seemingly a rare exception. Basically they not only had to pay her, but find her things to do (things that Netflix could record her doing)‼️ There's some clips of her at the last Invictus where she's all smiles in front the camera, then literally turns her back on veterans, pulls Harry away from people mid conversation and scowls at children who were expecting Harry not her, but she jumped in to be photographed then refused to acknowledge them one the picture was taken1‼️ She's a vile human being‼️😠

Here's the thing: when Catherine joins William in his events such as the Earthshot Prize, for example, she acts as his support. She never makes speeches, she just stands with him, it's William who makes the speeches. When it's Catherine's event, William acts as the support, he stands beside her and lets Catherine make the speeches and greet people. That's what you call RESPECT for your spouse and for the endeavors they represent. Meghan, on the other hand, has NOTHING on her own and yet she wants to be in the spotlight. So what does she do? She takes over her husband's charities and their events and acts like SHE'S the star. Gross.

Sparry asked Beckham to be an ambassador for the games but avoided David and didn’t meet him even once after the Beckhams flew to Australia to support Sparry and the games. Rachel had accused Victoria Beckham of leaking stories about her to the British press and Sparry believed her and markled David when he arrived in Australia. Just as she destroyed Sparry’s relationship with his family, she destroyed his relationship with the Beckhams.
Kudos to David for standing by his wife. He’s ride or die she it comes to Victoria. If I ever see him in LA or UK I’d buy him a beer or lager. Allegedly he ripped into Harry for the accusations.

That observation hit home-- I remember when my mom died of cancer, at the visitation, the deacon came to the funeral home and gave a homily. He talked about the time he had a heart attack and had triple bypass surgery with a low chance of recovery, but the prayers of so many people were heard, so he fully recovered. I remember we all kind of looked at each other, like, "He knows she didn't survive cancer, right?"

Being a past Nurse and looking after people in wheelchairs, I was not happy to hear her speech. I believe you were 100% accurate about the insensitivity of bringing up the story of the soldier who was told by the Doctors he would not walk again but did end up walking again. Yes it is a wonderful testimony but it may also be very triggering to those men and women and their families that gave their all in recovery but did not end up walking again. Whoever wrote this speech was no expert in what a sensitive issue this is along with the PTSD many suffer.

Prince Charles North American tour way back when, he saw a bit of our Wounded Warrior Project and he thought it would be good for your wounded veterans and that Harry would like being a part it. From everything I read, harry enjoyed being with the veterans and they enjoyed having him as part of INVICTUS. When markle decided to insert herself in the games a couple of years ago everything started going downhill fast!! The first year of her involvement she hired her own photographers and video crew to follow her around and when children were being
Children and running around playing, her hired photographer and video person would yell at them even though they had a right to be there. It was markles hired photographer and video crew who didn't belong. I guess she wanted her numerous wardrobe and jewelry changes every day to be the star of the show instead of the amazing vets and their families. I really hoped that this year's games would be focused on the veterans but all her over the top demands and her arrogant attitude ruined everything again, especially when she decided to march in front of the veterans in another one of her inappropriate outfits. Harry should have immediately told her to get away, that marching in front of the veterans was not appropriate and if she didn't move away the parade would not happen. What had she done to earn a spot in the parade?? Her ego couldn't let others shine and her lack of class took over for everyone to see. I would have refused to march until someone got her the hell out of the way. She probably wouldn't have moved though, she would have been ecstatic thinking it was now a parade for one, she really is that stupid.
The queen came up with the idea to try to keep him out of trouble but that did not work he has destroyed them Mr and Mrs todger destroy everything that gets involved with creeps
I was under the impression Charles and William suggested the idea following on from what the Americans had done and yes the Queen agreed if it meant it kept Harry out of mischief. And in all fairness he cracked it he was hugely popular with the veterans and made the games about them it wasn't a PR stunt for him. But as soon as that witch appeared on the scene the whole ethos of it changed and instead of Harry putting her in her place he lets her manipulate him and make it all about her, so sad cos I won't watch it now with her involved and I suspect more countries will pull out and veterans will boycott it next year. And I fir one would support them.

I love how she bigs up Harry as the founder but then absorbs the applause with a satisfied grin on her face as if it’s her own achievement. And she coldly forgets that he only CO-founded the games. Harry saw a similar idea in America, the Warrior Games, brought the idea home and pitched the concept to the Ministry Of Defence. It was CO-founded with Sir Keith Mills and the Ministry Of Defence. And let’s face it, we all know who most of the organisation and work was carried out by - and I suspect it may not have been Harry. It wasn’t even an original idea.
