- Drinking beer every day can have some negative effects. But there are some benefits too. And as we discover why I’m going to perform an experiment - drinking a beer every day for 30 days straight.

My brother started drinking heavy every day and his life improved immensely , He was able to get rid of his wife AND his job and go fishing every day.
Hows that improving 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣

Turns out my alcoholism is just a 20 something year long science experiment
I used to drink with my ex gf but had to quit because I started getting blisters around my groin area. Maybe I could’ve just switched brands?
@@_WOR That might relate to alcohol intolerance.
@@_WORDo GFs come in brands now? 😂
I conducted the same experiment. I am now 8 years in and so far im feeling drunk. I dub this a complete success.
I've been drinking beer every day for 2 years now (essentially since I started a brewery). I'm 20 pounds heavier than I was, and most of that is fat. I'm doing 20-30 minutes of moderate to intense cardio 6 days a week and eat pretty healthy. I had a physical last year. I told my doctor (honestly) about my lifestyle. When he got my lab results, he did a pleasantly surprised "wow", saying that blood pressure and cholesterol were excellent. He said I could stand to lose 20 pounds, but then asked if I thought I'd be happier 20 pounds lighter. If that meant cutting out beer, I'd say no.
I've had family members that never smoked, never drank, and died young from health issues. I've had family members that smoke and drink heavily and live long lives. Everyone is different and everyone's body is different. I think you just have to live life the best you can - be kind to yourself and others.
That's a good analysis within your second paragraph.. I think balance is important for everyone but of course some people can handle less alcohol and others can handle more alcohol and still function at a high level. It depends. I will say though, that while I was on streaks of sobriety for multiple months at a time, everything was better. Still missed the taste of beer though on those streaks.
I just smoked a bowl of crack and I couldn’t agree more
Just smoked meth and I agree
Ever tried black tar? shits great

Regular beer-drinking + regular exercising + regular healthy eating is what it's all about. Calories in vs calories out. Good vid
Lol
Calories in vs calories out, while seemingly logical, is disproven. Explained in this great book on diet, appetite and weight: Why We Eat by Dr Andrew Jenkinson
czcams.com/video/G3WIm0pKERg/video.html
Idk I feel like regular beer drinking just makes being in a caloric deficit much more difficult for those that want to achieve weight loss and hit the gym hard.. I love beer as much as anyone else, but seems to be a detriment when it comes to being in good shape
@@Meza201 millions of people who lost weight will disagree. While body metabolism is a complex mechanism, eating less calories than you use up will make you lose weight for 99% of people.
Exercise isn’t always about losing weight! Most people can balance enjoyable foods, a couple of drinks now and then, and hitting the gym hard.
I don't drink every day. Just in the evenings and all day on weekends.
"I don't always drink beer, but when I do, it's usually every day..."
great video. Love the writing in front of you style very unique. I've noticed even on myself that just one beer after a long day of work is such a nice relaxer and can really brighten up your day especially if it was a stressful one. cheers
I quit drinking beer for 30 days last year and nothing really noticeable happened. It wasn't 30 days in a row but still....nothing

wrong quitting
I was a heavy drinker, so I decided to try and quit full on for 2022. I didn’t have a problem but it got in the way for many things. I have more energy and motivation then ever and I’ve been having no problem with 5 day workout weeks with MWF 3 mile runs. Haven’t missed a day. Alcohol makes consistent discipline difficult
30 days strong for me i was suprised how much i haven't missed it. I feel great to.
Being a heavy drinker everyday, you need anything to help you come off of alcohol to keep from DT’s or anything like that?
Undisciplined drinking leads to inconsistent discipline. So if going cold turkey is your way of maintaining discipline then power to you, you're way better at it than most. But if you're able to control both aspects equally I think there's a healthy balance to be had as well. Mad respect either way.
@@XleperXmessiahX depends on how heavy. For me, it was between a quart and a half of whisky a night for a few years. Cold turkey didn't cause DTs, but it messed up my sleep for about a month (like being able to sleep once every 2 days).
Your results may vary though. React very fast if you do get DTs. They can be fatal. I did cold turkey because I had Klonopin for emergencies (didn't end up needing it thankfully).
That is actually a very good point. Use to be a pro athlete and then started drinking beers every day, for about 5-7 years straight, the difference is alcohol really makes it harder to stick to a routine.
All these comments of old guys testimonies just inspired me to crack open a beer lol. Cheers
Digging the setup with dry-erase markers and the clear writing surface - a welcome change from the all-too-common whiteboard. Cheers!!!

Same here! The jokes are always funnier, the people around me are hotter...
I did the same when I was 40, but when I turned 50 I realized that I have to be more careful. I would limit to only 1-2 drinks per week and regular exercises 3-4 times per week. Drinking more makes me lazy and I start skipping my training days.

I've drank beer every day for years, sometimes it'd been the only thing that kept me alive. So beyond this study I'm living proof that you can in fact survive on a beer only diet but I would not recommend it. Eat and sleep.
A beer only diet can do some real damage: czcams.com/video/mfrdKXEdPFU/video.html
Beer is almost a food, though. I could survive with beer without food for a few days.
I eat less a week than a normal person eats in a day. I drink between 20-30 beers a day. I rarely get hungry and have developed a beer belly. Been drinking and eating like that for 5-10 years

I’ve been drinking beer every day for 2 years (since Covid started). Mostly doubles & triples. Everything still working. Haven’t gained any weight. Feeling good about things.
slippery slope
hate how some people just don’t gain weight from alcohol, it doesn’t make me gain much as far as putting on pounds but it sure as hell makes me puffy in the face and dough-ey, got a friend who pounds like 2 cases a week (for a while) and he’s still pretty slim all things considered
@@gutsfiend6678 I’ve been drinking a 6 pack for about a year now every day. I still have a six pack and still toned. High metabolism gang

Keep going. Don't fix what ain't broken.
im 21. never been an alcoholic but i liked to drink a couple of times every week (12/15 beers), never drunk or something but i just drank out of boredom. i felt miserable at all times even when drinking, then i just stopped, got into running and healthy eating/ drinking water. i lost weight, i sleep better, i move better, my life is overall better. you can change too
some people can do it. Most people should not do it, in my opinion, as I discovered for myself. I tried the, ‘drinking 2 beers every day or several days a week’ for probably about a year, more or less. What I discovered about myself is that I was actually like, some sort of “low level” alcoholic, if such a thing can exist, because I did not like, drink ten beers a day or anything like that. But even drinking two or three a day every day or at least a few times a week for many months as I did, affected my functionality very, very negatively. All that to say that, I certainly still love a good craft beer, just, in much much more moderation, like, once a week or once every couple weeks kind of moderation.
lol cheers dude, live long and prosper!
I've had 1-2 beers minimum every day for about the past 10 years and am now 61 and doing fine. My main concern would be the extra calorie input, but I am very physically active so I am lucky in that I can burn off all those excess calories!
Ahhh nothing like being physically fit and enjoying all the beer you want mate, cheers 🍻
I’ve been having 8 beers per day and it’s amazing! I’ve been doing fantastic health wise. People who say alcohol is unhealthy are dumb as shit.
It's supremely good for your gut. All fermented foods, just be vary with the alcohol content. Go with the ones with less alcohol. My gut microbiome has significantly improved after incorporating 1-2 (330 ml) beers on weekends. If you are careful with the alcohol content beer can actually enhance your health.
Martin are your logo'd tulip glasses available to purchase.?
Thanks for asking. They were a gift from my folks some years back.
I love drinking craft beer. I don’t ever remember a day were I hadn’t had one. I also brew my own. Love ever bit of it. I weigh 210pds and fit as fiddle. But im also active, winter sports, raising cattle.
Do the cattle eat the spent grain?
Yes, it has no nutritional value after it gets threw the mash cycle. Its a treat, yard pimps (chickens ) get after as well. I make bread sometimes with the spent grain. Nothing goes to waste.
Do you live in Colorado? Or did you just really want to give colorado native coors beer a shot haha.
Cheers from a northern suburban denverite
I’m really surprised that you only drink 3 times a week. Do you give all of it away?
Great video. To the point
I train martial arts and run a lot,my diet is fairly clean but I enjoy a beer.
I don't enjoy getting really drunk,I enjoy the taste,so I have maybe 1 beer at night during the week after training,I will have 1 beer, then on my Friday cheat night I will have 2 beers with fast food and then I usually have 1 beer on a Sunday evening.
essentially, imagine eating 1 or 2 slices of bread when you drink a beer... if you drink 6+ beers at a time, you're effectively eating a half loaf of bread lol. People throughout history have consumed small and mid-strength beers and small wines on a pretty frequent basis, and yet, we're still here. It's just food, nothing special about it.
there is definitely something special about it. I, for example, enjoy drinking beer much more than I enjoy eating bread.
Beer > Bread
With that being said, drinking beer regularly is terrible for weight loss.. unless you eat an extremely clean diet and go hard at the gym multiple times per week, drinking beer just makes being in a caloric-deficit for weight loss so much more difficult.
it’s not just food, it’s one of the most heavily abused drug out there and honestly up there as one of the most destructive drugs, nothing to play with, that being said it sure is fun
I skipped some of this, so perhaps it was discussed, but much of the craft beer these days is higher abv than it was even 3 years ago. So when we say 'one or two beers per day' that could mean 1-2 beers at 8oz with 5.5% alcohol, or that could mean 1-2 16oz beers at 11% alcohol. And that is a pretty big difference. So if the latter is true, you're effectively drinking what would be considered to be 4 beers, every day, at a higher than average abv. *went back, it was discussed! Great job!
I drink about 4-5 12oz. cans of 4-5% most nights of the week plus occasional shots of liquor...
I have been drinking beer everyday for the last 20 years, anywhere from 7-20 beers a day. Plus ipa's and margarita mix and wine. Even when sick or taking medication, never had any issues, worked everyday through the pandemic, made great money and was able to enjoy some finer spirits, vape, smoke, unprotected sex, etc. Just depends on if you are lucky. My grandpa smoked a carton a week and drank bottles of vodka constantly and lived to be 90. That's life, kids get cancer and die, healthy people die from eating salad or get hit by a car on their early morning jog, moderation is fine, but it still requires a grain of salt. Cheers bitches!
But the real question is…where are you going to go after you die?
@@dominiqueparker548 to a brewery most probably lol
Chairs!
What in the 7 hells...
When did you start drinking?
I drink 1-3 a day typically and have since I was about 22. I find that it helps me relax at night and fall asleep at a more reasonable hour... I take sober months on occasion for lent or general abstinence but I do not notice any increase in energy or weight loss at all.
You might fall asleep quicker but your sleep quality will be worse. Might not be noticeable though.
@@moistmayonese1205 I haven’t noticed a lack of sleep quality from drinking a few beers. Maybe it’s because I’m still relatively young, but the only thing that has ever really messed with my sleep quality with any kind of regularity so far is DOMS from working out.
@@moistmayonese1205 this, going to sleep intoxicated in almost any fashion disrupts your sleep until the drug wears off, essentially you’re getting half a nights actual sleep

This interests me cause I've been drinking too much beer since last year since around January I started going out to the shop just to get 6 - 8 beers and drink them the same day, recently less like 1-2 a day if at all. I did gain weight, but I think that has more to do with also being out less due to what's been going on and not working due to depression. I'm on the up and up now though and will start working soon.

They key to life is everything in moderation. I currently only drink Friday-Sunday at about 4-5 beers. It’s really important to get in as much water as possible, staying hydrated is what’s most important
Same, I only drink monday-sunday. And its a good thing beer has water in it.
@@lblampsgaming lol
I only have one a day and nothing happens to me, of course I also work out like a fiend and
I find the balance is quite simple, just be strict, if you drink say 2 litres of beer, drink 2 litres of water before bed or when you wake up. It's important to note alcohol dehydrates your brain which is why we get hangovers. So long you're rehydrating yourself no harm done. Just watch the liver. ;)
Water? Never touch the stuff. Fish f**k in it you know.
I've been thinking of doing this same experiment but in reverse!
How does this board work???
worked at a liquor store and seen people drink about a 12 pack or fifth of liquor a day. Some are perfectly fine while others are very much not alright. Once you start developing the shakes you know you need to stop or buy more alcohol lol

What if it is one or two every day or every other day?
I only drink 2 days. Days when it rains and days when it's doesn't.

After my battle with kidney stones. I will never go another day without drinking beer.
Saying beer has empty carbs is a bit misleading. Beer carbs are maltose which is longer chain carb than for example sucrose or fructose. Beer also has some amount of protein ranging usually from around 0.4g/dl to as high as over a gram per desiliter which can put beer protein content (per calorie) as high as 7-8% which is close to the level of rice and potato. Beer also has vitamins and minerals in it, so calories are not as "empty" as you would have in something like soda or candies.
Thank you for this.

Yeah, I drink beer everyday, usually 1 to 3. If you do something drastic, like you know go to work everyday, you will be fine. I was in the military for 15 years and most soldiers drink a couple beers at the end of the day. And most soldiers are in much better health than civilians.

I am sceptical of those 'benefits', is it not maybe the case that being a moderate drinker just precludes you from being an excessive drinker by definition and all those risk factors are for excessive consumption i.e. drinking moderately isn't the benefit, *not drinking excessively* is just not to your detriment?
When moderate drinking is said to have benefits, it's of course in comparison to not drinking at all-not in comparison to heavy drinking. The latter would be too obvious to need to be pointed out.
Is this not common? Almost everyone I know has at least one beer or cider after work.
How do you write in mirror image so easily?
5 beers a day is doctor recommended in some parts of Canada
What about moderately drinking 1-10-12-15 beers a day

Nice, keep it up man. It's all about moderation. Keep living life, just don't throw it away.
Yeah I just stopped eating as much and kept drinking the same amount or possibly more and have lost 60lbs in the past 2 years...
well duuh it also depends on what else you do besides drinking beer, are you walking running every day, are you excercising every day are you also drinking water in abundance.I commend you spirit for creating a new video but you can do so much better David seriously elevate the bar.
Both beer and meat are tasty, and are equally hard to resist. They also pair good together. What are the odds?

I can tell by your numbers that you’ve been working out fairly regularly during that month. Your skeletal muscle mass went up by .6 pounds. That’s never an accident and I would assume had the most influence on your end result. BUT, you did it in style!!
The ski trip wasn't all beer drinking :-)
I seen that Colorado beer in the fridge 🔥🔥🔥
How did you write so good backwards??
Did this guy ever say how much beer he drank a day? I don’t think so left it kind of wide-open there buddy. Drinking one beer every day or “drinking every day“? Huge difference in my opinion.
I say you attempt a larger test case. I'll volunteer as the first subject
I've drinkin somewhere between 1-4 beers per night for years. Recently I increased to 3-6. I drank heavily yesterday and this morning I was thinking about quitting for a while. But then I found a bunch of bugs in my garage, the tax authority sent me a notification about some inspection, I accidently got hit by a car at low speed and during a basketball game I got hurt while trying to steal the ball from a big dude. Fuck it dudes I am having my beer tonight. Guess a Friday is just not the right day for quitting anyway
Uhhh,I’m sorry, what is a 12 ounce pour? Is that also called a “sampler” :)
All comes to moderation. I holf the belief that beer is beneficial in low amounts. It has no fats, little sugar is a good source of fiber and carbohydrates and low alcohol mostly (besides i absolutely love fermented foods and drinks haha which btw have benefits like probiotics). Talking about calories,if you have a healthy diet, a 100-150 calorie beer in a 2000 calorie diet (in an adult's man mainteinance calorie diet) doesnt seems to be that much. It is truth that alcohol makes you look bloated though. Also, hops foments apetitte, which can be a problem for some people.
So, yes, if you have a 6 pack daily or several days a week you will have trouble. Having 1 beer per day, i think it shouldn't make great harm.
The difference between a medicine and a poison... Is the dose.
Cheers!
what does "grams per ounce" or "servings per bottle" mean?
Civilised countries use metric, and the bottle IS the serving
I've been drinking beerS daily for the past 7 months. I also do calisthenics, run multiple times a week, and have an athletic build with a six-pack (pun intended). Just saying, balance can be found (hope my livers ok).
