  • Wear headphones for this video, as we’ll diving into the editing technique of Audio Panning - enabling editors to spatially distribute sound across the stereo spectrum.
It’s akin to painting with sound - immersing your audience into the scene. In this video, Caroline shows you how to get started in LumaFusion!

Hi, most of the tutorial video around synchronization consider either one video + one audio, or multicam + one audio situations. I'm trying to figure out ways of working with multiaudio + one (or multi-) camera situation.
So I have two mono wav files and footage in an mp4 file, all of course recorded at around the same time. I'm trying to synchronize the three and pan both audio sources into left/right channel.
What would be the best way to achieve this in Lumafusion?

Hi there, if I understand you correctly, I believe the Multicam Sync feature would suit your use just fine. In that case you would simply put an audio only clip into a Video drop zone, and then synchronize with the other clips.
At this point you should be able to take care of the panning in the Multicam Synchronizer, by opening the clips into the Audio Editor and configuring the panning as you like.

Hi, I will give it a try next time I have a chance, but I thought with Multicam as an output I can have only 1 active audio track, right? I can have multiple audio tracks in my container, but then I switch between them resulting in, so to say, one audio track when I go back to main timeline. But I would not be able to merge two mono tracks into one stereo.
So the way I tried to approach it last time was to 1) sync audio and video using multicam, 2) noted timestamps of the clips and audio to match them up, 3) added my source files to the main timeline and arranged them per multicam's suggestion, 4) trimmed, and then what did not work 5) found out that I cannot pan with mono audio source, nor did I find an option to set them as left/right channel@@LumaTouch

I can’t say enough about how fantastic LumaFusion is. 🙏🏻
I recently had a project where I wanted to match a stereo interview mic with the mono VO. Is there a way to fold a stereo track down to mono or split into separate tracks?
Also, and I suppose I could figure this one out by myself, but does panning a stereo track pan left signal to the left and right signal to the right or does it pan both channels to one side or the other?
I realize these are very audio- centric requests, but you do continue to expand the app beyond expectation, so I thought I’d ask.

Hi there--thank you for the kind words. Love to hear that. Your questions are good ones, but a bit beyond the scope of the YT comments section to unpack. Please send a note to our Support team, who can lay it all out in a 1:1 fashion. lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support') -- we'll get you going on this. Thanks again and happy editing!
