Works great, looks amazing and enough heat to help the room but not heat it when cold. No regrets changes the whole look of our family room
really touching video and project -- never quit ron!
I just finished redoing my fireplace turned out awesome. Wished I'd taken before pictures. Our house is nearly 100 years old it looks like an original. Instead of a pile of painted bricks.
My husband used these plans from wood prix and he's very satisfied.
What I would like to know is the generic 'build in place' dimensions for a fireplace surround & mantle as found in so many old homes. I have a couple of fireplace mantle surrounds from old homes but are they the same dimensions as modern vent-free gas fireplaces? Any good links to building a faux fireplace?
6:14 “it’s primer, do we really have to get the strokes perfect?” Yes...yes you do. Always strive for perfection.
Should have put the corner blocks on before fitting the uprights to the wall. Then he wouldn't have had to go back and cut off some of the trim on the ends of the mantle. The trim is clearly across the end to start with but has been cut off to fit the corner blocks and doesn't look good at all. They even hide the mistake at the end by positioning the tree to hide it.

I think you need to take some time and go to woodprix website to learn how to make it.
I would think "how to" would include measurements of some sort especially where the surround overlaps the tile. I also don't understand what happened with the upper plinth block. That's just plain ugly.
I Believe that you forgot to connect the fireplace to the chimney pipe
Lol they didnt put an insert in they just built a mantel and surround
How not to... to many people in one area.
