“A LAZY MAN’S WORK IS TWICE AS HARD”. The steps are easy:
    1. lay down plywood
    2. Then lay down hardwood floor
    3. put quarter rounds on
    4. then put the reducer down
BUT THIS TOOK WORK! And I want to help you guys out, Im going to link videos down below that will help you guys on installing these hardwood floors.

I just actually installed these floors in my first apartment ever, and I thought I'd come back to tell you out of all the videos I watched yours was the most helpful? In terms of you really addressing mistakes and shit that happens. How you explained staggering helped me so much you don't even know dude. For a complete beginner you really going over and explaining what matters, what you'd do differently and what DIDN'T work and why saved my life on this. Thank you sm.

Young Blood, i know this video is over a year old. Much Props from Hawaii. I just stumbled on your video because i too will be doing a larger project/scale in the upcoming months. I can see you were so fresh out the boat regarding how to lay wooden floor and the adventure you endured. How proud i am for you because.....YOU LEARNED HOW TO ENGAGE, to overcome a totally brand-new experience, never did it, through trial and error, mistakes are the greatest teachers. Funny, back in the day, my dad taught me years ago, "Measure twice cut once", and for me im all about sports, football and wrestling, and i didnt want to learning nothing other to than to get better in sports, but slowly as i started to watch my dad growing up, he tried to repair everything, trying to get me engaged..my dad was the parent," we dont need Big Macs, just give him some wonder bread, and hell do a better big mac."
I love your quote, "A LAZY MAN WORK IS TWICE AS HARD." Right now, my son is 12yrs old and i am slowly teaching him to figure out things, get his mind and hands engaged. Your video will be with me forever because as much as you critiqued, as much as you related, you "Hope this video helps?" I promise you Floyd, it has and it will...Listen...the accomplish feeling of you completed..."Beginning Middle and End"...I tell that to my kids...,"Dont just focus on the Project but the Prep, the Project itself and then the END," The door cutting, the cleaning...hahahahah just loving it, upside door and all...Grateful Uso("Brother" in Samoan) you took the time to go through Hell and Back with this Unedited/edited video for the beginners and old G like myself to see your growth and appreciate another Nubian King growing mentally and physically...Hahaha God Bless Floyd....

Wow this is the one. I found the perfect video for laminate over carpet. Thank you so much. We learned so much. I’ve seen some people use spacers at the corners. Is this necessary?

It’d be great if you can do an update! Some people under other videos had concern about mold and I’d be doing this in an apartment😬

Awwww dude I feel your pain. I'm sure you'd be the first to admit that a lot of the problems were self made. The staggering while it turned out good there is a method to ensure even layout. You count how many full planks go along the starting wall. The gap at the end, you then add half the gap again and saw the total off the first plank. This makes sure the pieces at the beginning and end are the same size so don't become too small and thus not as strong if walked on or furniture legs on it. Also a great start for the brick pattern staggering effect. The paper method again good but a cheap more stable method is to use a floor depth gauge. This follows every detail of any obstacles which you lock in place then use as you did with the paper to draw the markings onto the plank. Onto the dreaded edging for corners. You can indeed rent a mitre saw. Or buy for a much cheaper cost tool. Something called a mitres block. Made of hard plastic with angles already marked into it. Simply lay the edge in between and cut using the pre made guide slots.
I take my hat off to you. A Job well done at a young age and first project. Great video detailing many common problems and I'm sure a huge learning curve for yourself. You have my respect.
