      It's not expected in cold weather. If you expect it, your car's a piece of crap (not yours specifically). I also live in Calgary and I often park in my uni parking lot when it's -20/-30. Engine light never comes on my 2014 Escape. Doesn't have trouble starting either. No need for a block heater.

    Had similar problems on my 2016 model, after maybe 3-4 visits to the dealer turns out it was some onboard console short circuit. They replaced the whole onboard computer thing in the back of the trunk and everything’s back to normal now. You can probably ask the dealer to check on that next time.

      What you say is wrong, these cars are parked on dealer lots every year at this weather outside. Our GLA250 parked outside 24 hours a day did not have an issue. Our 2nd GLC300 was parked in the garage overnight and it was parked outside during work. When the car was started after work it got a check engine light. The next day was going to take it in for service and it was parked in the garage overnight and it was not drive able and had to be towed to a dealer. We had way too many brand new cars and never have had an issue like these including other Mercedes

      Not true. Of course the battery will have to work harder but that's why the OEM Varta batteries for MBs have a good amount of CCAs in it. I have an 8 year old C300 that spends most of it's time outside. I replaced the battery last year just for the heck of it and it starts up on a dime no matter the weather. Of course in the cold it will need a bit of time to warm up and needs to be driven lightly to get fluids up to temp.

    More than likely u bought a new car and it was probably moved around a lot at the dealership prior to your purchase. Short drive cycles in cold weather and cold starts where the engine tends to run richer and it properly never had a chance to gets up to temperature where it would lean out and start dialling back the short term fuel trim. I’m assuming the spark plug on cylinder number 2 probably got a bit fuel Fouled and wasn’t sparking properly due to gas being a hydrocarbon and a conductor. This is not too uncommon for direct injected engines where fuel pressures go well above 1000 psi easy. It’s not too big a deal if it happens again they’ll probably throw a new plug in under warranty.

That way I can just use the key instead and don't have to be freezing my butt in the car when the winter comes. Every so often every car manufacturer has an issue. Its normal. Even Toyota. Theres only a problem if your dealership does nothing about it. But as we see they fixed it. No problems🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @POGAuto
      @POGAuto  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes they have fixed it however we own two 2020 GLC’s and both had issues and one had to be towed. Leaving us with one less car without a loaner. I understand that all cars can have issues but it’s different experience when both of the cars have issues especially after owning other benz’s without problems

Two brand new cars at once having problems right off the bat is very bad. The lemon law here where i live is if you take it in at least 3 times while its still brand new, they have to give you another one.
