Dang, that truck got a new lease on life! Looks awesome.
They don't make them like that anymore. Short wheel base, 6' bed, got to say I miss these old trucks.
2nd Gen was the last time TMC offered a regular cab, still not even close to the old Toyota PU.
I have a 97 single cab short bed totally off roader. It's awesome. I can't take her anywhere without somebody offering to buy it off me on the spot. It's an awesome truck.

How is it a sleeper??? It looks nothing close to stock.. sleepers are stock looking vehicle
To me, a sleeper can either be completely stock or a ratty looking beater. In this case, the miswatch colors match the description for me. Especially since I wasn’t expecting the super charger.
But it’s a subjective term so feel free to disagree

Rad ride. So much power the frame flexes during the burnouts. Look at the space between the cab and the bed.
They did come with v6 in the single cab non prerunner. I worked and drove one at my shop. It was a manual and would easily light up the tires. It must of weighed 2800 pounds

awesome little truck. It's cool seeing a long travel ifs taco more geared towards crawling. still trying to decide if i want to do long travel ifs or SAS with my 3.4 supercharged taco.
also, toyota did actually sell short cab 4x4 tacos with 3.4's from the factory from 95-97. some even had factory superchargers. love the 95-97 grille and headlight style, almost makes me want to convert the grill on my '01 to the older style lol

@tacomabeast 1986 toyota pu factory turbo 4wd but all upgraded turbro, ms2 and everything. Currently having Jim at 22re performance building an all forge internal turbo engine for it! Hoping for 220hp on 91@14psi, and maybe 280+ on e85 @20+psi. Already JD Fab LT. Just gotta buy rear bypasses (king's) only! so I can start my sua deaver f67 setup. This will be a build great for your channel too lol. I've been following you for years!

I think 3.4l is around 190 stock. With supercharger maybe around 230?
The Magnuson TVS1320 Toyota 3.4L V6 Supercharger System can add 262 horsepower and 263 ft-lbs of torque at the crank

"Sleeper"? Looks like it's been awake for 3 weeks straight on a meth binge.
98-04 only 4 cylinder 96-97 had the 3.4 option but the 96 3.4 could not support the trd supercharger and did not have the supercharger option until 97 when the supercharger option became available
wrong, 95.5-2004 you could get a 4 banger. 95.5-97 you could get the 3.4 in a reg cab but only in 4x4 manual.

Loved this platform of small truck. Why are trucks like this no longer made? We all bitch about high truck prices. A small truck with a single cab & 6' bed would have to be cheaper to make and cheaper for us to buy. Almost all new movies are remakes or regurgitated ideas from the past. Why not do it with trucks?
