I haven’t received collares but I have Mano de Orula, and I was given my Guardians Eleke, which was also concecrated. So I only wear two Elekes and two idles.

Thank you for this video. I recently received mine and it was a beautiful ceremony. Like a rebirth. I actually received all 7 and called to receive Ochosi eleke when I get my Warriors. My neck feels a little heavy at times. Lol. I must say wearing my elekes encourages me to be more mindful and graceful in my daily life.
Same. Although, with me, I got into studying Christianity shortly after receiving my Awo Faca, and it ruined my perspective of life for a little bit. Just studying it. But after speaking with my Babalowo, I’ve come back to my senses.

Interesting video got my necklace fromy local botanical store, I came in thier looking for a necklace use for protecting she recommended the black, and red necklace said" to her how it protects you red for protection black repels that energy got this 2 days ago every day cleanse it sleep with it helps my sleep patterns no lie but yesterday while doing research seen this same necklace called Elekes on esty didnt even know they had a name. Now see i needed this, the guy I'm so attached to gifted me one and just told me do not take this off, it just so happened to be for yemahya because the lady hadnt gotteb her Oshun ones yet , he didn't know at the time i had a. Dream about tbat name week before , and then decided to look into it and said hm maked sense ..my room has so much blue , my whole life my favorite place was in the water , my bathroom he wasn aware, is completely decorated with blue and s mermaid, sea turtles, seahorses , even mermsid glass vasses ... everything blue , my truck..blue.. the color i chose for my mom's house at 17, sky blue lol.. i know it is not to be taken lightly and what he did is NOT done usually at all, but then again I'm sure he knows more than he's telling me he did mention yr ago he had a reading done on me by his elderly aunt who for some reason was very enthusiastic to meet me afterwards and as was he walking her to me .. when i say this right now there goes my ear ringing lol.

@@cobydray6468 you cannot self initiate into any of these Practices. I have been associated with an Ile' (house), and had taken my time to initiate. My head was read, first, years before. Im learning more, now, with counsel

Would love if you can make a video on animal sacrifice in the tradition and if you can answer how would that look like for a vegan or a vegetarian who is interested in being initiated and practicing Yoruba faith. This is one of the conflicts I have often asked myself... is it even possible to be vegetarian and still be initiated into the traditions that require animal sacrifice for certain ceremonies.
I know people who are vegetarian, and vegan in the religion. They understand that they have to partake in meats after certain ceremonies. Animal sacrifice is a core aspect of the tradition and there is really no way around that.
I am vegetarian. My mentor is vegan my mom was vegan for 15 years and then she switched to vegetarianism. My grandmother is vegan. My father is vegetarian. We all were initiated into ifa And the practice of animal sacrifice is completely different from the abuse and the miss treatment of animals. The animal itself actually goes through a ritual and a practice as well and there is a lot that goes into it. We don’t just necessarily pick an animal and kill it

Agreed! I actually beaded mine personally prior to my ceremony to receive them. It was tedious but I loved putting my Aché into them. ( of course my Baba tied them and consecrated)
