Driving On I-90 West In 1995 (Bellevue, Seattle)

Back in 1995, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove West on I-90 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.

I was living in Upper Queen Anne...
This is the Seattle I'll always remember- computers were new and dial up was the thing.
WTO hadn't happened and there were houses instead of stucco apartments.

Imagine how people would react if they were told that trains would be running in those lanes 30 years into the future. Remarkable how much the I-90 corridor still looks the same after all these years.

The express lanes that are now closed down and being converted to light rail.

Was nobody using it? It sure quite a waste of our taxpayer dollars.

@@dgendvil People were but it's a lot cheaper to build the train on the existing infrastructure.
