  • We frequently get the question asked, how do you replace the hose on a Bissell SpotBot (and LIttle Green Machines), so we decided to take a video of the repair to show exactly how to open the machine and replace the hose. The difficult part of the repair is actually replacing the solution hose to the pump inside, so in this video we take you step by step on opening the machine, removing the old solution tube and hose, and replacing them with a new one.
    This video repair can be done on the following Bissell SpotBot models;
    1200
    1200B
    1200A
    SpotBot® Pet
    SpotBot® ProHeat® Deep Cleaner
    SpotBot® Pet Deep Cleaner
    7887
    The replacement hose comes sold as a complete assembly, including the Hose, Trigger Assembly, Solution Hose, and suction hose, and can be purchased on our website here:

    SUPER helpful demo. No way I could have replaced the hose myself without this guide! Great stuff Chris.

    We used this Guide and it was very well produced. The only thing left out was plugging the connectors back in and making sure they worked. We had to look for what was not powering the hose. The connector wasat the top of the machine under the control panel.

    The hardest part, at least for me, was how to release the hose at about 1:45 with that little button. Looks so easy in the video, but I just couldn't get mine to detach. The whole job would have been easier if I could.

    I ordered a replacement hose for the Bissle SpotClean Proheat, and while this is a different unit than the SpotBot, your video was still very useful and I was surprised how easy the replacement process was. Two things I noted: (1) I followed the advice of Kirsten Alworth and just twisted the hose to remove it verses pushing in on the two buttons on the side of the hose. (2) The SpotClean has a panel on the bottom held on with three screws that also needs to be taken off to allow the old hose to be removed. Thank you for the video. It gave me the tips (and courage) I needed to tackle this project!!

    I was concerned about buying a hose replacement part without any installation instructions! So glad I found this video! THANKS! I watched the video all the way through once and then I started taking my Bissell apart. I quickly noticed it was different than the one in the video. My replacement was actually much similar! Thanks again for sharing!

    This is such a great video! This was such an EASY fix!! I thought I was going to have some problems after reading some of the comments but it was as smooth as butter! If anything, my experience was easier than what was shown in the video. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

    Thanks for the video! I was able to replace the hose on my Spotbot Pet all by myself! Was easier than I thought.

    Good video Chris/Go-Vac. It was very helpful to see the steps. However as others have said, it was not as easy as you made it appear & you didn't have a very easy time of it. I'm a pretty capable repair person, doing most without previous observance or experience on any given repair. This was taxing due to the limited accessibility from not disconnecting all wiring holding halves together and also in getting the "solution tube" through the hole with the vac tube. I ended up filing 1/2-3/4 circle in slot to pass 2 tubes through together. I thought the solution tube was sealed on inside of vac tube so didn't want to remove it. Also, like Kevin Law, Cthlos & GWhite, I had the white tube to contend with and am confident GWhite1001 is correct that if solution tube is not put back as installed originally, tube will kink preventing solution flow. This task should only be done by Very Patient people.

    Do you have a video replacing the other end where the handle attaches

    They sure don't make it easy, do they? I was hoping this would be as easy as replacing the hose to my Dyson but it doesn't seem to be the case. I do appreciate the video though... I may pass this job over to my husband ;)

    Likewise GWhite1001. This wasn't as easy at the video shows. I needed help in spots, but I did manage to get it done. Whew!

    Perhaps a dumb question, but how exactly do you "just release the hose" at 1:45? I'm pushing on mine with full force; it won't budge.

      @AphroditeYPP Před 10 lety +5

      To get the hose to release (at 1:45) - I spent a LONG time pushing and smashing. Finally, I discovered it's easy if you grab the hose with your hand, push in, twist and then pull it out. You really don't need to press on the tiny button to get it to release.

    The spot bot has a different piece for the kind of S shapped plastic piece, so you have to remove that from the old hose, and put it on the new hose before you can do what this video shows. upon finishing the repair the hose now works fine in the unit. but the circular brush will not work at all. On top there are three buttons, set in stain, surface stain, and hose. Our spot bot now only works with "hose." So it seems we are headed to the repair shop anyway.

    Thanks for the helpful video. I have a similar design variation to what GWhite1001 describes. I'll go ahead and attempt the repair. If you have any advise for those of us in this situation, please share.

    I like to know who designed this crap. I have nothing but problems with Bissell products. I will not be buying any more of them.
