The first hour of him playing BG is going to be hilarious, he won't understand any of the mechanics or figure out even basic parts of the story.
As a person who hasn’t played the game yet (but has heard tremendous things about it), it sounds like a game with an intricate set of gameplay systems that reward people for creativity and thinking outside the box - two things Phil sucks at. This should be interesting to watch.

Secondly, his comparison sucks. Someone going into work is not the same. For one, a traditional job has an obligation legally speaking to pay you. No viewer has an obligation to pay you. Secondly, Phil *is* still getting paid because of ad revenue. Sure it might not be much, but that is the fair comparison to make. It would be different if CZcams just told him they wont pay him if he plays Baldur's Gate.

Also, he keeps saying he's been around all this time because he's successful. He's been around this entire time solely because of the detractors and trolls. If people wouldn't clip him he would fall off in less than a year. 75% of his audience are detractors and trolls.
For a guy who needs money so much, he really goes out of the way to do things he wants. If I had an audience and needed money like he claims, _I'd play whatever the audience wanted._ Both because entertaining them is the whole point AND it's also the best way to get tips without literal begging.
