    CCFL is cool. But you can't just leave them on in perpetuity like you could leave an LED on. They're fire hazards. They're also quite expensive. Fusion reactors with the old light up saber arms is probably the best option for something you can just leave on without worry. Not sure why the LED's are so dim in this new figure. Could be Hot Toys isnt sending enough power to the lights.

    Was the blade bent? It looked bent in the video. If they cost 150 each that would be unacceptable. Looks like I'm going to stay with repainting mine so they stand out better then Hot Toys stock ones looks like.

    I would have liked to see a CCFL shown alongside the other two options. Still, it looks like a good option compared to Hot Toys default option.

    Looks only okay for the money, CCFL sabers don’t heat up if you use them on a 50% brightness setting.
    Thanks for the info.

    I recommend chris custom sabers. His ccfl sabers are amazing. I have three and Even tho they are expensive they make star wars figures look crazy.

      To expensive for something flawed in my opinion.

    My plan is to paint saber blades with UV reflective paint, and then have pin point UV lighting in my display for the sabers.

    I know this is a nitpick, but as a transformer statue collector companies have found a way to have a light up eyes feature, but when it's not lit up the eyes are still red or blue when the light function isn't on. Why hasn't Hot Toys use that same feature on their sabers.

    They’re kind of a lot though. I looked at them and $150 each is a bit more than I want to pay. If I wanted to do one for all the characters I have displayed with sabers currently it would add up pretty fast.

    • @tonileo9849
      @tonileo9849 Před 7 měsíci

      Yeah, its almost the price of a figure but i cant deny it lights up great. And if it solves the heat and other problems, its good.

    • @michaelglatt100
      @michaelglatt100 Před 7 měsíci

      @@tonileo9849 they would be cool to have no doubt. I’m just thinking of how many figures I display sabers with. I have nine right now. So like $1,300 (and that’s not including if I add more). That’s a lot for just some saber lights. Especially when the saber hilts look decent but aren’t quite as nice as an actual Hot Toys version.

    • @tonileo9849
      @tonileo9849 Před 7 měsíci

      @@michaelglatt100 you re right, you might need to really think which characters will have it but i think it will be tough to choose, and i agree about the hilt not really looking up to part. I think a good way for a blade would be broght white plastic rods inside a translucent colored shell, so it would look like the lightsaber is on without actual light, although that may sound better in my head.

    People i do all my own ccfls (i don't do them for commission pls don't ask) They are expensive when buying but if you learn to do them on your own its very cost effective and fairly easy to do! you cant leave them on all the time but what you can do is wrap them in cellophane to make the color better as well as making them look good when not on.
