    It just totally boggles the mind as to why hot toys uses such an ancient and impractical method to light it's figures.

  • @obxnice
    @obxnice Před 2 lety +14

    Will be a rant.
    What don’t understand is why they can’t run the wires inside the figure as it’s made and then have 1 power source batteries, plug in or both with 1 switch to run em all usually hidden under 1 panel held in with a screw maybe. All built hidden inside the figure. Heck few toys had bk in 1970s and 1980s had lights and sounds etc and some other had 5 to 6 points of articulation and some those joints like a shoulder joint u could twist that arm around over and over again and the wires never had issues still working cause they were held inside the arm in a small hollowed out space with extra wire to allow for movement and all. So if we could do it with stuff way bk then why can’t we do it now. Yes the figures are more detailed and more articulation points but it’s all still the same inside. Not like don’t have the room. See some CZcams’s able to do it we’re they take figure completely apart and either run wires hidden well enough inside or need to hollow out some of the pieces to allow the wire to run thru it. They put it all together and wow it works just fine, articulation and all. Shoot people who build models do it all the time to light up their figures or vehicles they make. Now you can say well it I a cost saving thing with the company yet they still give us lights we just need batteries for every light and a switch rt we’re the light is. Well that a lot of water space rt ther to put a battery and switch a tiny wire running from another point should fit in that area easy. They companies have just become lazy and want to make things as cheap as can but still make as much $ as possible. Really won’t be that much harder for em to mold the pieces with a way to run the hardware inside the figure all going to one switch. But hey we let these companies get away with bulls hit like this. So I amazing figure may have 15 to 20 spots with lights that make it look so much better but guess what u will never use em cause it’s a pain in ass to by and install all those batteries then later turn every spot on and off all the time. So they never get used. What a waste and stupid.

      I'm replying even later, but who cares! I also agree completely and have reduced my Hot Toys purchases to maybe one every year or two. The reason? Hot Toys used to lead with toy innovations. I simply don't see it these days. The figures are great no doubt, but Hot Toys has become complacent regarding new innovation.

  • @iChannel11
    @iChannel11 Před 2 lety +7

    dont do this method with hulkbuster. different lights require different voltages and amps hence different size and numbers of batteries that goes in normally. incorrect power supply will cause the lights to dim (low supply) or blow the lights (over supply)

    A solution maybe a conversion kit that allows for wireless charging of rechargeable button cell batteries (idk if those even exist). They would have to have modified panels that allow a pass through charge while the batteries are inside with magnetic snap. Have snap on power cables.
    Or have a conversion kit that the panel fills the battery compartment completing the connection and allows for wireless power that is addable to the existing hall of armor or display stands.

    Thanks for the review, great video as always. That system would be good on Vader’s belt and chest plate. I build and sell CCFL lightsabers and they are the best option currently in my opinion, and there are ways of controlling the heat that they generate which can be a concern for a lot of folks.Hopefully HT will come up with a better system in the future. Love the hulk buster BTW.

    theres always comments ''why dont HT wire everything together on one plug etc'' if you do that how would you replace a damaged limb or swap outs,micro connectors would be needed & bendable wires break like the original IM arm lights. they tried the power pose series mk42/45-47 & hb iw & people complained about poseability. i think the solution is to have more accessible switches;push in panel type buttons or magnetic switches might lend itself to turning every figure on at once.

    • @samo4648
      @samo4648 Před 2 lety
