- Episode Fourteen - We bought a 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Venture XVZ 1300 TF. It's in bad shape because it was outside under a tarp for almost 11 years.
We started the job 12 months ago (June 2021). Motor and gearbox are in perfect condition and the engine ran well.
Then we started to dismantle the bike. Lot of damaged chrome parts, lot of iron parts with poor paint etc. etc. We spend about 5 days in the paint booth. But the result is.... almost a new bike :). This series will be 15 episodes, so two to go!
Vive les royal star !!!! Merci pour vos vidéos qui sont si rare sur nos belles
Merci! C'est toujours amusant de faire ces vidéos et de lire les commentaires.
Really enjoyed watching your lovely video 👋. A big thumbs up from Chris and Jane 👍
Thanks guys, appreciated!
Great Build, beautiful job. For future Harley Muffler installs, the muffler indent (6:36) should be on the inside, reverse the mufflers, gives smooth look from the side.
Thanks Robert, great tip!!
Well Done Dutch!
Thanks Bob!
What an amazing job.
Thanks. It's a lot of fun.
The fuel pump is always a problem. Sort of like the rear air shock . Just got home today after a few days with my 2006 in the Rocky Mounrains. Turned over a 150000 kms. These engine never really break. Bik looks GREAT, wish I had your talent
Thank you Miles! We've ordered a new pump.
Excellent work. I like what you did with the rear taillight addition/upgrade to the tour pack. I would like to do the same with my 2010 RSV. My particular year bike did not come equipped with a luggage rack on the tour pack, that is another addition/upgrade I would like to add. One of the items I eliminated from my bike is the controller for the sound system. In the two years I have owned my bike, I have not used it once. I prefer the helmet sound system of my CARDO unit. I have recently added grip warmers and they have worked excellently. I just felt like sharing my bike’s evolution with you, thanks for reading my post.
Thank you! We don't use the audio system really. It's more of a cruiser bike for summer and nice weather. But it's a great machine!
come on guys, I know you have ridden this thing to Switzerland and back to the Zuiderzee by now. Can't wait for the conclusion.
Just give us a week or so and we will deliver :) !
YES YES YES!!!!
😃 Exactly!
Mooi hoor!
Love your videos. I bought 2005 RSV few months ago. Love the bike! Very comfortable.
Unfortunately, the carbs may be leaking. I think I smell fuels or fumes while riding sometimes. My throat got irritated after riding for 30min or so. I am not a handy man like you two. Got to start learn how to remove the fuel tank and look for leaks.
Get a Clymer manual. Makes working on the Yamaha a lot easier.
@@dutchglobetrotter6464 Thanks for the tip. I already got Clymer. Just need tools and get my hands dirty. 😅
After all this work you kept the cassette player in?!?!?!?!
Yep. There is a cassette stuck in the player with some odd German music. That reminds us of Marco, the previous owner who passed away. But we added a BT-receiver and modified the player a bit so we can play the one cassette or BT.
did you keep the tape deck or replace it? i'd be keen to see that.
We keep the tape deck and installed a Blue tooth device too. The tape won’t come out so we keep it this way.
Any new updates?
Yes. We've posted two shorts today. Next Sunday there will be a 'Back on the road!' video.
